DWIGHT O. FOLK
Dwight Otto Folk, 79, Salisbury, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Oct. 25, 1920, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Bruce and Olive (Kinsinger) Folk. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marvette Fisher, and two brothers, Wayne Folk and Orlo Folk.
He was a self-employed auto body repairman. He was a member of the Springs Mennonite Church, Springs Historical Society, and Tub Mill Arts. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Ferne (King) Folk; two sons, D. Ronald Folk and Richard A. Folk, both of Grantsville; one daughter, Linda Hardesty, Salisbuy; one sister, Retha Oester, Canton, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Dec. 1, with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment was in the Springs Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Springs Mennonite Church.

BERNARD R. FLEIGLE
Bernard Ray Fleigle, 85, Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at his home.
Born May 17, 1914, in Boynton, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles V. and Letitia (Decker) Fleigle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cerneil Angela (Robertson) Fleigle, in 1994.
He was a retired employee of Local Union 296, Masonry and Bricklayers. He was a member of Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion, and a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II. He attended Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Shumaker, Cumberland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives in Garrett County.
Friends were received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, Cumberland, where a service was conducted earlier today, Dec. 2, with the Rev. Scott Shumaker officiating. Interment was in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.

ELLEN A. TURNEY
Ellen A. Turney, 75, Oakland, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born July 25, 1924, in Oakland, she was a daughter of the late William N. and Elizabeth I. (Walter) Turney.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Oakland, where she served as an usher, a greeter, a member of the worship committee, a Sunday School teacher, and secretary of the Sunday School for 15 years.
She was a member and former secretary of Garrett Temple 17, Pythian Sisters, Oakland, and was a past grand chief of the Pythias Sisters of Maryland.
She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth J. Brown, Wilmington, Del.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Cremation will follow and the cremains will be interred in the Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
Members of Garrett Temple 17, Pythian Sisters, will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 6 S. Second Street, Oakland, MD 21550, or the Southern Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.

SHERRY D. KING
Sherry D. 'G.G.' King, 57, Mount Savage, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at her home.
Born March 19, 1942, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Hopkins) O’Neal. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond O’Neal Jr.
She was a former supervisor of housekeeping at Frostburg State College for 17 years. She was a member of the Allegheny United Methodist Church, Zihlman; Mount Savage Lighting and Taxing Committee; the Mount Savage Water Co. as past recording secretary; and the ladies auxiliary of the Mount Savage Fire Company.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, George E. 'Gene' King; three daughters, Peggy A. King, Kennell’s Mill, Pa., Jean M. Rice, Mount Savage, and Joan M. McCoy, Hyndman, Pa.; one brother, James S. O’Neal, Rawlings; four sisters, Eva Ray Stevens, LaVale, Peggy Sween, Zihlman, Elsie Robeson, Finzel, and Dottie Smith, Mount Savage; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Dec. 1, with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. Interment was in the St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Mount Savage.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Allegheny United Methodist Church, c/o George Harpold, 211 Delano Ave., Frostburg, MD 21532.

WILDA I. KILDOW
Wilda I. Kildow, 68, Mtn. lake Park, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 31, 1930, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Ruth (Johnson) Tasker. She was also preceded in death by two bro-thers, James Tasker and William Tasker.
She was a retired legal secretary, a member of the American Legion auxiliary, and treasurer for Camp 11, Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include her husband, Michael V. Kildow; one daughter, Angela K. Landers, Mtn. Lake Park; three sisters, Eileen McCartney, Mtn. Lake Park, Sheila O’Neill, Loch Lynn, and Sharon Groves, Livermore, Calif.; and one grandson.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Ivan Ackerman officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Hospice of Garrett County or the Southern Rescue Squad.

JOHN J. CALLIS
Oakland Man Dies In Tucker Co. Accident
An Oakland resident was killed in a traffic accident in Tucker County, W.Va., Saturday night, November20.
Born Jan. 5, 1971, in Oakland, Callis was the son of C. James Callis Jr., Oakland, and Helen Marie Layman, St. George, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jamie Callis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Mary, of Oakland.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Tuesday, Nov. 23, with the Rev. Father Chip Lee officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.

SARAH S. ELKINS
Sarah Sedella (Schriver) Elkins, 75, a resident of the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, since Jan. 8, 1991, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born April 4, 1924, in Moscow, she was the daughter of the late Sallis Jennings Schriver and Mary Edna (Beeman) Schriver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Elkins.
She was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are one daughter, Darlene Lashley, Cumberland; two sons, Robert Elkins, Keyser, W.Va., and Kenneth Elkins, Manassas, Va.; one brother, Melvin Schriver, Moscow; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends were received at the Eichorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, where a service was conducted Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. William McCallister officiating. Interment was in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

MARY E. WILLIAMS
Mary E. (Vodopivec) Williams, 84, Robbinsville, N.C., formerly of Kitzmiller, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in Robbinsville.
Born Sept. 24, 1915, in Kitzmiller, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Podvoy) Vodopivec. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband of more than 50 years, Edward Williams; one son, Dr. Edward Williams, Bismarck, N.D.; one daughter, Merilee Barlow, Wilson, N.C.; one sister, Jennie Vodopivec, Kitzmiller; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home, Robbinsville, where a service was conducted Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Father Bond officiating.

JOHN E. WILT
John Ellis Wilt, 79, Swanton, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born May 9, 1920, in Frankville, he was a son of the late John I. and Anna (Murphy) Wilt.
He was retired from the warehouse of the Westvaco Corporation. He previously worked for the B&O as a railroad foreman. He was a member of the Mount Cal-vary Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hollis (Sines) Wilt; one son, Randy Wilt, Mechanicsville; two daughters, Edith Clayton, New Creek, W.Va., and Nancy Daigle, Mechanicsville; one brother, Henry E. Wilt, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Pauline Eaton and Irene Howell, both of Savage River; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was conducted Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Matthew Reigel officiating. Interment was in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad or Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.

GLADYS L. BARTHOLOMEW
Gladys Lorene 'Rene' Bartholomew, 78, Friendsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born March 27, 1921, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (Thomas) Frazee. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Foster Frazee and Wade Frazee.
She was a member of Friendsville United Methodist Church and was retired after 27 years of service as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar S. Barthol-omew, and three sisters, Bea Miller, Oakland, Helen Lowdermilk, Perry Hall, and Dorothy Livengood, LaVale.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 20, with the Rev. Brian Schofield officiating. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
