MILDRED R. VETTER
Mildred R. Vetter, 82, Oakland, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at her home.
Born March 20, 1917, in Westernport, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert H. and Myrtle (Grove) Robinette. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Landon R. Vetter, in 1978, and one son, Harlen L. 'Sonny' Vetter.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores J. McCarty, Bowie, and Mary Lou Stemple and Eleanor M. Callis, both of Oakland; one sister Emogene Kite, Fairfax, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 20, with the Rev. Ann Harrison officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

PORTER F. BROADWATER
Porter F. Broadwater, 71, Canton, Ohio, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Aultman Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born in Swanton, a son of the late Robert and Savilla Broadwater. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Raleigh Broadwater, and one sister, Ruth Broadwater.
He was a 1947 graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport; He was retired from the Timken Co. with 35 years of service. He was a member of Canton Baptist Temple and Pike Grange. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Broadwater; two daughters, Carri Miller, Canton, and Michele Mave, Parma Heights, Ohio; two sons, Ronald Broadwater, Canton, and Michael Broadwater, Parma Heights; two sisters, Ora Brane, Fredericksburg, Va., and Freda Broadwater, Essex; two brothers, Ray Broadwater, Terra Alta, W.Va., and Paul Broadwater, Swanton; and eight grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, Canton, where a service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 20, with Dr. Harold Henniger officiating. Interment was in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
A grange service was conducted Friday evening at the funeral home.
WILLIAM C. WISE JR.
William Council Wise Jr., 71, Friendsville, formerly of Riviera Beach, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1928, in Altamont, N.C. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Wise, in 1998.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a fireman second class. He had worked as an electrician for Maryland Shipbuilding Drydock, Harambee Braedon, and ISS Energy Services.
Surviving are three sons, Timothy Wise, Columbia, and Stephen Wise and Terry Wise, both of Pasadena; one sister, Doris Hankins, Glen Burnie; and four grandchildren.
Viewing and funeral service will be at the Gonce Funeral Home, Pasadena, and interment will be in the National Cemetery, Catonsville.
The family suggests memorials be directed to Hospice of Garrett County, Inc., P.O. Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
AGNES E. TEETS
Agnes Elizabeth Teets, 93, Friendsville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born April 8, 1906, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Lott and Mary Alice (Humberson) VanSickle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Foster Teets, on May 3, 1998.
She was a member of Blooming Rose United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are one daughter, Marybelle Lohr, Friendsville; two sisters, Lauretta VanSickle, Friendsville, and Blanche Frantz, Markleysburg, Pa.; and one grandson.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Nov. 24, with the Rev. Robert Milliren officiating. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
CHARLES A. KYLE
Charles A. Kyle, 75, Oakland, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Jan. 10, 1924, in Barton, he was a son of the late Charles and Emma (Stewart) Kyle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel M. (Reall) Kyle, in 1997.
He was a retired mechanic for the Buffalo Coal Company, Bayard, W.Va., and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sisters, Hazel L. Spriggs, Chantilly, Va., Emma M. Watson, Ambridge, Pa., and Dorothy Rhodes, Barton; and three brothers, Joseph Kyle and Earl Kyle, both of Barton, and Cecil Kyle, Spokane, Wash.
His body was cremated and there was no service.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, was in charge of arrangements.
WILLIAM F. DEBERRY
William F. 'Bill' DeBerry, 89, Oakland, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born March 4, 1910, in Oakland, he was the son of the late William P. and Nina E. (Foster) DeBerry.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Soil Conservation in Garrett County, retiring in 1984, and was a retired farmer. Around 1939 he was the 'founding father' of the Oakland Southern States Cooperative.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine F. (White) DeBerry; one daughter, Carolyn M. Pelton, Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sons, W. Benson 'Ben' DeBerry and Gary F. DeBerry, both of Oakland; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
BEULAH M. KITZMILLER
Beulah Maxine (Sines) Kitzmiller, 81, Baltimore, formerly of Oakland, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at the home of her son, Bill Wallace, with whom she resided.
Born Sept. 1, 1918, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Urias and Dorie (Rodeheaver) Sines. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Demastus, Virginia; four sons, William T. Wallace, Baltimore, Marvin Kitzmiller and Thomas Kitzmiller, both of North Carolina, and Michael Kitzmiller, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted at the Central Baptist Church, Baltimore, on Thursday, Nov. 18, with the Rev. Ed Walls officiating.
MARY E. SISLER
Mary Elizabeth Sisler, 75, Loch Lynn, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at the Columbia-Augusta Medical Center, Augusta, Ga.
Born Nov. 3, 1924, in Pleasant Valley, she was the daughter of the late Orvalle C. and Victoria (Bernard) Bittinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Sisler.
She was retired from the Oakland Post Office and was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mtn. Lake Park.
Survivors include two sons, David Sisler, Martinez, Ga., and Kyle Sisler, Edgewater; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment will follow.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the MIR Children’s Foundation, 233 Woodland Drive, Martinez, GA 30907.

ELEANOR D. SHEALLY
Eleanor Delores Sheally, 67, Mtn. Lake Park, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999.
Born Dec. 27, 1931, in Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Mary (Barry) Logsdon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard T. Sheally.
She was retired from Bausch & Lomb and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, Drew A. Sheally, Oakland, and Brian D. Sheally, Mtn. Lake Park; two daughters, Renee T. Savage and Donna L. Mullan, both of Mtn. Lake Park; three sisters, Rita Hartley, Marianna McGreevy, and Monica Mason, all of Clearwater, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, Nov. 17, with the Rev. Donald Parson as celebrant. Interment was in the Rocky Gap Veterans’ Cemetery, Cumberland.

VIRGINIA E. FIZER
Virginia Elizabeth Fizer, 84, Deer Park, formerly of Weston, W.Va., died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Jan. 15, 1915, in Daytona Beach, Fla., she was a daughter of the late George R. and Beatrice (Lewis) Shaffer.
She was a former employee of the Borehart Glass Company, Weston, and the West Virginia Roads Commission. After moving to Garrett County, she was the financial secretary to the Board of County Commissioners from 1955 to 1957; clerk to the Garrett County Commissioners from 1957 to 1967; and later a bookkeeper for Will O’the Wisp, HMH Corporation, and Recreation Industries. She served as acting postmistress at the Deer Park Post Office from 1968 to 1969. She later operated her own bookkeeping and accounting business while also serving as office manager for the Deer Park Spring Water Company. She was a member of the Weston Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, James Albright, Jane Lew, W.Va., and George A. Fizer, Deer Park; two daughters, Susan B. Parsons, Mtn. Lake Park, and Sally L. Chuparkoff, Kissimmee, Fla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Interment was in the Machpelah Cemetery, Weston.
