Brian P. Todd
HURLOCK - Brian "Bee" Patrick Todd, 36, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at the Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born July 3, 1967 in Cambridge, the son of Louis Thomas Todd and Norma Wilkerson Todd, both of Hurlock.
Mr. Todd was a 1985 graduate of North Dorchester High School. He was the former owner and manager of Chesapeake Towers. Previously employed with the Sterling-Ashton Funeral Home in Catonsville, Mr. Todd had worked part-time at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melody Shaw-Todd of Hurlock; one son, Tristan S. Todd of Hurlock; four brothers, Steve Thomas Todd of Parsonsburg, William A. Todd of Hurlock, Thomas "Bo" Todd of Galestown, Dennis Todd Sr. of Eldorado; two sisters, Sandra Deibler of Sanford, N.C. and Janice Tesi of Blacksburg, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sangston and Florence Todd; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Oneida Shooks; one sister, Lou Anne Todd and one nephew, Billy D. Todd.
A viewing was held Sunday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
Services will be held 1 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Washington Cemetery in Hurlock.
Pallbearers will be William A. Todd, Thomas "Bo" Todd, Dennis Todd Sr., Janice Todd, Jake Jones and Eddie Hurst.

J. Wilson Fitzhugh
RAGGED POINT - J. Wilson Fitzhugh, 89, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003. He was the husband of the late Bertha Aaron Fitzhugh.

Olive M. Perry
PRESTON - Olive M. McWilliams Perry, 91, of Dover Bridge Road, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at the Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge.
She was born April 15, 1912 in Dorchester County, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Arnett McWilliams. Her husband, Lloyd C. Perry, preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1990.
Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and had been a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston for over 43 years, joining in 1960.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews with a special nephew and his wife as her care providers, G. James and Evangeline Hoffman of Cambridge; special friends, Donald Perry, Jim and Peggy Perry, Gene Kramer, Jeanette Sharp and many other supportive friends and family.
She was the last of 10 children preceded in death by Raymond McWilliams, James McWilliams, Charles McWilliams, Russell McWilliams, Bennie McWilliams, Betty McWilliams, Elsie M. Hoffman, Agnes M. Dayton and Margaret McWilliams.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Frampton Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with the Rev. Glenn Staehli and the Rev. Mark Farnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Reginald C. Tindall
HURLOCK - Reginald C. Tindall, 74, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge.
He was born June 1, 1929 in Gaffney, S.C., son of the late Roy Maynard Tindall and Iva Beulah Angel Tindall.
Mr. Tindall was a 1946 graduate of Gaffney High School in South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years prior to three years active duty, where he was stationed in the United States, Germany and Korea.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hurlock and a member of Lafayette Lodge 330 AF&AM in Gaffney, S.C. Mr. Tindall sat in lodges in Europe, Massachusetts, Texas and Maryland.
He was a lifetime member of the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company with 33 years of active service. He was also a member of the Hurlock American Legion Post 243; Federalsburg VFW Post 5246 and a former member and past president of the Hurlock Lions Club.
Mr. Tindall's survivors include his wife, Eileen M. Tindall of Hurlock; three daughters, Theresa Norre Bryant of South Carolina, Eleanor Tindall Payne of Saxis, Va. and Donna Carlene Nuwer of Hurlock; one son, Roy Carlton Tindall of Frankfurt, Germany; one stepson, Frank Wright of Hurlock; three grandchildren, Valerie Tindall, Kelli Nuwer and Brad Wright and one great-grandchild, Jason Tindall.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Doris Mae Cusick Tindall and a twin brother, Jerome Shannon Tindall, who died at age 14.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Dr. Thomas F. McDaniels and the Rev. Gordon Nock officiating. Burial will follow in the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Eastern Shore in Beulah.
Pallbearers will be Bill Payne, Russ Stevens, Jimmy Dyes, Richie Hughes, Paul Nuwer and Frank Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be David Wands and Charles Coulbourne.

Frances C. Simmons
SEAFORD, Del. - Frances C. Simmons, 79, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at the Genesis Elder Care in Seaford. She had been in failing health for the past five years and had been a patient at Genesis Elder Care for one week.
She was born Sept. 2, 1924 at Woolford, the daughter of the late Beddie and Nina Elizabeth Shenton Barrack.
Mrs. Simmons had attended schools at Madison. On June 16, 1976 she was married to Robert Lee Simmons. He passed away on Dec. 23, 1995. She had worked at Airpax in Cambridge for 22 years.
Her survivors include one daughter, Linda M. Wyatt and her husband, Charles A. Wyatt of Seaford; one son, Robert Lee Simmons Jr. and his wife, Dorothy Lee Simmons of East New Market; three grandchildren, Scott Henry, Vernon Henry Jr. and Jeffrey Wyatt; seven great-grandchildren, Jade Henry, Tyler Henry, Samantha Jones, Hannah Mac Henry, Dakota Wyatt, Summer Wyatt and Ashton Wyatt. She is also survived by one brother, Joseph Barrack of Church Creek; one sister, Louise Opdenoker of Seaford and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Lester Wyatt; two sisters, Mamie King and Cora Shenton and two brothers, Howard Barrack and William "Wimpy" Barrack.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the East New Market Cemetery with the Rev. Pardee Bramble officiating.

Joseph C. Lies
EAST NEW MARKET - Joseph Carmine Lies, 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at his home.
He was born March 9, 1917 in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Christopher Lies and Eleanor Martineau Lies.
Mr. Lies served with the CCC for a number of years before joining the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served as a medic. For many years he worked as a superintendent at an apartment building in Hempstead, N.Y. and was also employed as a security guard for the town of Hempstead.
Mr. Lies was a past commander of VFW Post 783 in Hempstead and a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246 and Hurlock American Legion Post 243.
He is survived by one daughter and her husband, Charlotte L. and Terry Wulle of East New Market and one grandson, Christopher Joseph Wulle of East New Market.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lies was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Anna lies.
Services will be private.
The Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market is handling the arrangements.
Ella H. Johnson
CAMBRIDGE - Ella Hubbard Johnson, 96, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge.
She was born Feb. 27, 1907 in Dorchester County, daughter of the late Daniel James and Charlotte A. Cornish-Hubbard.
Mrs. Johnson was educated in the schools of Dorchester County and furthered her education at Brean Manual Training and Industrial School in Philadelphia and received a degree in Millinery and Dressmaking on June 10, 1926.
Her employment years were spent doing domestic work and serving as a cook at the Cambridge Country Club and The High Spot Restaurant. She loved to cook and invite others to eat.
Prior to moving her membership to Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, Mrs. Johnson held membership at John Wesley United Methodist Church where she organized a choir and served as a lay member to the Delaware Annual Conference.
As a member of Waugh she served as a communion steward, member of the United Methodist Women and at one time was secretary for the Women's Circle 3 and did work with the Hot Meals Program as long as her health permitted.
In the community Mrs. Johnson was involved as a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary for 35-40 years, and was a member of the Mes Aimes Social and Literary Club for 20 years and at one time served as club treasurer.
Her survivors include a son, Larry Johnson and a grandson, Larry (Kwalla) Cornish of Cambridge and two great-grandchildren, La Terriah and LaNyai Ja Cornish; numerous nieces and nephews; a cousin, Robert Jackson of Cambridge; three special children, William and Edith Cornish of Cambridge and Emma Johnson of Hurlock; a goddaughter, Janeen Ford of Cambridge and a special friend, Shirley Jackson of Cambridge.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Johnson and she was the last survivor of 16 siblings.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Waugh Chapel UM Church with the Rev. Dr. William T. Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Waugh Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 8 tonight at the church.

Grace J. Sampson
HURLOCK - Grace Jolley Sampson, 97, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge.
She was born May 4, 1906 in Salem, the eldest daughter of the late William and Minnie L. Molock Stanley.
She received her formal education in the schools of Dorchester County. Mrs. Sampson joined the church at the age of 14 at Zoar United Methodist Church in Petersburg.
She served on the Nominating Committee, was president of the Woman's Society and chairman of the Communion Stewards for 33 years.
For 37 years, Mrs. Sampson was employed at the Acme Canning Factory in Hurlock.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sisters, Emma Hopkins of Hurlock, Mildred Murray of Petersburg; two brothers, Vincent Stanley of Denton and Hilton Stanley of Hurlock; two sisters-in-law, Mamie and Virginia Stanley of Hurlock; one brother-in-law, Floyd Murray of Petersburg; two grandsons, Kenneth Holliday of Randallstown and Sherwood Holliday of Hurlock; three granddaughters-in-law, Laurette Holliday of Randallstown, Karen Holliday of Richmond, Va., Linda Holliday of Seaford, Del.; six great-grandchildren, Brent, Kimberly, Patric, Jeffrey, Phillip and Alex; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and a special niece, Regina Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Orville Jolley and Thomas Sampson; one daughter, Beulah Holliday; seven brothers, the Rev. Luther Stanley, the Rev. George Stanley, William, Louis, Allen, Russell, Charles; one sister, Ruth and one grandson, Gerald Holliday.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hurlock UM Church, where friends may call from 6 to 8 Friday evening. Burial will be in the Petersburg Cemetery in Hurlock.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Hurlock.
William T. O'Neill
CAMBRIDGE - William T. O'Neill, 85, formerly of Greenock, died on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1918, the son of the late John Romanus O'Neill and Mabel Ida Moreland O'Neill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Parks O'Neill on Feb. 7, 2003.
Mr. O'Neill was a tobacco farmer on the family farm. He also was a carpenter for many years. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter, Nanci Coale and her husband, Donald of Hurlock, and two grandchildren, Ashley Coale of Hurlock and Roman Coale of East New Market; a daughter-in-law, Judy O'Neill of Deale.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas P. O'Neill, and two brothers, Kenneth O'Neill and John O'Neill.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Sept. 17, at Christ Church Cemetery on Galesville Road in Owensville with the Rev. William Ticknor officiating.

Gurney R. Wenrich
CAMBRIDGE - Gurney Richard Wenrich, 66, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at the Dorchester General Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past five years, and had been a patient at DGH for one week.
He was born Oct. 13, 1936 in Bernville, Pa., the son of the late Evan Isaiah and Sarah Bixler Wenrich.
Mr. Wenrich attended schools in Bernville. He then served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in England, where he met Joan Davis, whom he married on Sept. 29, 1956.
For a number of years he worked as a long distance truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Mr. Wenrich's survivors include his wife of Cambridge; three daughters, Jennifer Donna LaPallo of Millersville, Leslie Strickland of Glen Burnie and Linda Nilsson of Kernersville, N.C.; two sons, Kenneth R. Wenrich of Schenectady, N.Y. and Steven L. Wenrich of Waynesboro, Pa.; five grandchilden and eight brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Friendship United Methodist Church on Aireys Road near Cambridge with the Rev. Helen B. Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow on Monday at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery near Hurlock.

James T. Worm Sr.
PRESTON - James T. Worm Sr., 71, died at his home in Hog Creek, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003.
He was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Preston, the son of the late Carl Joseph Worm and Mary Marine Worm.
He was a graduate of Preston High School. Mr. Worm was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Army and was wounded and received the purple heart.
He was a farmer all of his life and he, along with his son, operated Worm Brothers Farm at Hog Creek where they grew produce and grain.
Mr. Worm was a member of VFW Post 5118, and the Moose Lodge 1520, both of Easton and he was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Tina Marie Brown and her husband, Danny J. Brown; two sons, James Thomas Worm Jr. and his wife, Sally and Robert Carl Worm and his wife, Debbie, all of Preston; six grandchildren, Kasey Worm, Daniel Brown, Lindsey Worm, Jake Worm, Nikki Worm and Katie Worm and three sisters, Marjorie W. Jester and Doris M. Worm, both of Preston and Betty A. Ewing of Easton and a brother, Lloyd O. Worm of Preston and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William F. Worm, Carlton Lee Worm and Earle B. Worm.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with the Rev. Glenn Staehli officiating. Burial will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.

David W. Leap
EAST NEW MARKET - David W. Leap, 64 of Fast New Market, passed away at his home on Saturday Sept. 20, 2003. He. was born in Cambridge on Sept. 27, 1938 and was a son of the late Ernest Henry and Katharine Wright Leap Sr.
He attended schools in Cambridge, having graduated from Cambridge High School in 1956. While attending Cambridge High school, he lettered in four sports: tennis, baseball, basketball and football.
He then earned his BS Degree from Washington College in 1960, and later earned his Master's Degree from Salisbury State College. On Nov. 23, 1961 he married the former Harriet Kincaid.
Mr. Leap taught math and science in the Dorchester County School system. He had also been the Director of the Vocational Rehabilitation Center of the Eastern Shore Hospital Center, and later the administrator of the Eastern Shore Hospital Center, and regional director of the Mental Health Administration.
Mr. Leap was an active member of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Cambridge, where he played the piano; had served on the Board of Directors of Dorchester General Hospital, Coastal Hospice Board, Channel Marker Board and the Nursing Home Appeals Board.
Mr. Leap loved his Lord and his family, and was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, had coached youth football, loved the water and enjoyed music.
Survivors include: his wife, Harriet K. Leap; four sons, David W. Leap Jr. and his wife, Vanessa of Norcross, Ga., Darren H. Leap and his wife Julie of Vienna, Dirk H. Leap of East New Market and Devon H. Leap and his wife Jenny of Cambridge.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Connor Leap, Nathan Leap, Robert Leap, Tori Leap and Annie Leap; one brother, Ernest H. Leap Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Worton; and their children, Mike, Carroll, Patti and their families.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Redeemer Presbyterian Church on Mill Street in Cambridge with the Rev. Paul Dorman officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Benjamin L. Mills
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Benjamin L. "Sonny" Mills, 56, of Shippensburg, Pa. died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2203 in his home. He was born Sept. 24, 1946 in Cambridge. He was a son of Thelma M. Creighton Mills of Panama City, Fla. and the late Roy B. Mills.
Mr. Mills worked for the past 19 years for ABF Freight Systems in Carlisle, Pa. and years ago worked at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa. Mr. Mills was a member and board member of the South Mountain Brethren in Christ Church in Shippensburg.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star with Valor.
Mr. Mills was a graduate of Cambridge High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Juanita K. Ingram Mills; one son, Troy F. Mills and his wife Tawnie of Shippensburg; two daughters, Traci L. Yohe of Shippensburg and Julie E. Boarts and her husband David of Newburg; one brother, Roy E. Mills of Cambridge; one sister, Lynnette M. Hogan of Panama City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will held Wednesday in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Erisman and the Rev. Joe Baer officiating. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW posts in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg.
The viewing will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Mountain Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, 607 South Mountain Estates Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
John M. Tieder
CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. - John Mickey Tieder, 68, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 in Chincoteague.
He was born in Cambridge, the son of Dorothy Tyler and the late Bob Tieder.
Raised in Cambridge, Mr. Tieder had resided in Chincoteague for the past four years. He was a mate with the Maryland Marine Police.
He had served with the U.S. Navy and Marines and was a member of the American Legion Post 159 and a life member of the VFW.
Mr. Tieder was affiliated with the Methodist church.
He is survived by his wife, Judi Tieder of Chincoteague; five children - Tony LaCace of Virginia Beach, Va., Johnny Joe Tieder of Cambridge, Chris Pete of Church Creek, Cindy Cook of Madison and
Sharon Shortall of Royal Oak; a sister, Doris Foxwell of Cambridge; one brother, Bobby Tieder of Cambridge; five grandchilden; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Mr. Tieder was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Tieder of Cambridge.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at the Fox & Holston Funeral Home in Chincoteague. The Rev. Travis Deloatch will officiate.
