Sadie M. Hendricks
VERO BEACH, Fla. - Sadie M. Hendricks, 89, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at her home.
She was born April 1, 1912 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Robert Winfield and Margaret Jane Figgs Thomas.
She had attended schools in the Wilmington area. She married Thomas A. Hendricks in 1945. He passed away on Dec. 10, 1996.
Mrs. Hendricks had made her home in southern Delaware since 1976. She had worked as a supervisor for the Keystone Coat and Apron Co. in Philadelphia. She had made her home in Vero Beach, with her son and daughter-in-law for the past six years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kathy and Roland W. Fetkenher Jr., both of Vero Beach, Fla.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alverta Morgan and two brothers, Walton Thomas and Delmas Thomas.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Dorchester Memorial Park with the Rev. Dale L. Vroman officiating. There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
Ethel M. Creekmore
CAMBRIDGE - Ethel Mae Creekmore, 73, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton.
She was born Sept. 27, 1928 in Havre de Grace, daughter of the late Moses and Martha Fletcher.
Mrs. Creekmore was a graduate of F.D. St. Clair High School with a diploma in general studies. Her employment years were spent working at J.M. Clayton's Crab House in Cambridge and Bay Hundred in St. Michaels.
She was also a business partner in a restaurant and bar establishment with her late husband, Lester Creekmore for many years.
Mrs. Creekmore's survivors include several nieces: Louvenia Nichols, Lorraine Brown, Octavene Saunders, Althea Foster (a very special niece who shared her home over the years), also Xenia Foster, Andrea Foster and Wanda Dashields, all of Cambridge, Alysia Keene and Wanda Keene, both of Baltimore.
She is also survived by four great-nieces; four great-nephews; three nephews-in-law, John Foster of Easton, Joseph Saunders of Cambridge and Dorchester County Commissioner William Nichols; a stepdaughter, Linda Creekmore; two stepgrandsons, Kenny Stanley and Roderick Creekmore and many other relatives.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Creekmore; a nephew, Staff Sgt. Benjamin Harris; two sisters, Irene Fletcher and Bertha Keene and two brothers, Charles and Moses Fletcher.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Henry Funeral Home with Ministers Lemuel and Lavonne Chester, pastors of The Anointed One Ministry, officiating. Burial will follow at the Waugh Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday.
Megan S. Bollinger
FEDERALSBURG - Megan Sue Bollinger was born and died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at The Memorial Hospital at Easton.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the St. Stephens Cemetery at 101 East State St., Delmar, Del.

Dorothy E. M. Todd
FEDERALSBURG - Dorothy Ellen Marine Todd, 60, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 at The Memorial Hospital at Easton.
She was born April 15, 1941 in Easton, the daughter of Olin W. "Hotdog" Kelley Sr. and Hazel Kelley of Preston and the late Edward Marine.
Mrs. Todd was a homemaker and also a welder at Maryland Plastics for over 18 years. She attended Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church. She was a retired member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary.
Besides her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her husband, James Kemp Todd of Federalsburg; three daughters, Donna Wilson and Joy Lederer, both of Federalsburg and Sheri Dusock of Easton; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Olin Kelley and Donnie Marine, both of Denton, Bill Marine and Tommy Marine, both of Preston; three sisters, Shirley Wright of Federalsburg, Jenny Eggers of Preston and Virginia Ann Dodd of Preston.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Todd and a sister, Barbara Dietrich.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg. Burial will follow at the Hill Crest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.

Joan M. Stewart
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - Joan Marie Stewart, 58, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
She was born Sept. 2, 1943 in Bridgeville, Del. the daughter of the late William Victor and Grace W. Wright Stewart Sr.
She graduated from Bridgeville High School and later worked for General Foods of Dover, Del. before she joined Solo Cup Company in Federalsburg. She had been retired from Uncle Willie's of Federalsburg for the past three years.
Ms. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Billie Jo Stewart and Jennifer Stewart, both of Bridgeville; one son, William Randell Stewart of Bridgeville; one brother, William V. Stewart Jr. of Bridgeville and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Bloomery Cemetery in Federalsburg.
Marion T. White
TRAPPE - Marion T. White, 86, of Windy Hill, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at The Memorial Hospital at Easton.

Omro M. Todd
MT. DORA, Fla. - Omro M. Todd, Ph.D., 72, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002.
Mr. Todd was born in Toddville and moved to central Florida from Greenville, Pa. in 1997.
Mr. Todd served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a retired college administrator/professor in the education industry. He was a retired United Methodist minister for 19 years.
Mr. Todd attended the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Dora, Fla.
He belonged to many professional and service organizations and the Country Club of Mt. Dora, where he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and was a member of the Save Chesapeake Bay Association. He was also a board member and trustee for numerous community organiza-tions.
His survivors include his wife, Flora W. Todd of Mt. Dora, Fla.; two sons, Marc and Marianne and daughter Abigal of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Jon M. L. Todd of Johnson City, Tenn.; two brothers, Bennett R. Todd of Bishopville and Charles Warren Todd of Cambridge; three sisters, Evelyn Miller of Cambridge, Carolyn Jones of Toddville and Ruth Meekins of Cambridge and one grandchild.
A memorial service for Mr. Todd will be held 1 p.m. March 9 at Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas Ridley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gregory C. Godfrey. A reception will follow in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Roger L. Hubbard Jr.
GALESTOWN - Roger Leoland Hubbard Jr., 58, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2002 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1943 in Cambridge, the son of Roger L. Hubbard Sr. and the late Anna Mae Hurlock Hubbard Cyr.
Mr. Hubbard was a 1961 graduate of North Dorchester High School. He was an electrician for Ayers Electric. He played lead guitar for the country band "Mountain Blue."
He is survived by his wife, Sallie Deborah Short Hubbard; his stepfather, Adolph "Frenchie" Cyr of Federalsburg; five children: Deborah Bennett of Cambridge, Amy LeCates of Seaford, Kathleen Grunden of Preston, Roger Hubbard III of Idaho and Michael Roger Hubbard of Galestown; three stepchildren: Lisa Edwards of Easton, Davie Marine of Chestertown and Ray Marine of Laurel, Del.; 13 siblings: Alfred Hubbard of Baltimore, Sharon McDowell of Bridgeville, Mary Alcorn of Federalsburg, Paris Cyr of Hurlock, Paul Cyr of Federalsburg, Joseph Cyr of Reliance, David Cyr of Bridgeville, Tina Faulkner, Susan Kahl, Keith Hubbard, Steven Hubbard, Annette Turri, all of Cambridge and Linda Shannahan of Rhodesdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Cannon.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at the Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with the Rev. David Heisand officiating. Burial will follow at Galestown Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Serving as pallbearers will be Neil Ruark, Bobby Ruark, Howard Bialk, Richard Hill, Barry White and Jim Conley.
Ellsworth W. Lutz
WOOLFORD - Ellsworth W. "Buck" Lutz, 71, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2002 at the home of his daughter near East New Market. He had been ill for six weeks.
He was born Dec. 31, 1930 at Woolford, the son of the late Otheio Leroy and Sara Linthicum Lutz.
Mr. Lutz was raised and attended public schools in Baltimore and for several years attended the Salisbury State Teachers' College. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served on active duty in the U.S. Army from January of 1952 to December of 1953. Mr. Lutz was in the Far East for 13 months.
On July 21, 1956 he married the former Lottie Belle Brannock, who passed away on Nov. 2, 1997.
For most of his working life, he was an electrician and some years ago worked for the late Handley Sherman. Until retiring in 1992, he was employed by I.B.E.W. Local 24 of Baltimore.
Among the larger projects he worked on was the Fort McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore. Since retiring, he enjoyed shooting pool, antiques and going to flea markets.
Mr. Lutz was a former member of Choptank Memorial Post 7460, VFW; the Cambridge Elks Lodge; and Cambridge Moose Lodge.
He is survived by one daughter, Virginia L. Spellman and one son, Gregory L. Lutz, both of East New Market; three grandchildren: Jessica C. Spellman, Bryan L. Spellman and Gregory "Lindy" Lutz Jr.; one uncle, Billy Linthicum, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lutz was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Lutz and three sisters: Doris Smith, Jean Herbert and Nancy Lee Brown.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge by the Rev. Mark Farnell. Burial will take place in Old Trinity Churchyard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9.

F. Waldo Manuel
CAMBRIDGE - F. Waldo Manuel passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the V.A. Medical Center in Baltimore. He was the husband of the former Rebecca Blades Wyncoop.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery Chapel at Beulah. Friends will be received at the Thomas Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Warren G. Robinsion
CAMBRIDGE - Warren Grant "Sheriff" Robinson, 80, passed away at his home Friday, April 5, 2002.
Born in Cambridge Sept. 8, 1921, he was the son of the late William Lincoln Grant and Maud Jones Robinson. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Specialist A 1st Class from 1942 until 1945.
He spent 35 years working in professional baseball, having signed as a catcher with the St. Louis Cardinals organization at age 16. With the exception of the time he was in the Navy, he spent from 1938 to 1963 in the minor leagues, moving from Class D to Class AAA as a catcher, player-coach and manager in the Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and New York Mets organizations.
He managed two teams to league championships. Corning, N.Y. (Red Sox) won the N.Y.-Penn League pennant in 1954, and Amarillo, Texas (Yankees) won the Texas League pennant in 1961. He moved into the major leagues in 1964, and in 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1972, he was a bullpen coach and first base coach for the New York Mets, working with managers Casey Stengel, Wes Westrum and Yogi Berra.
From 1968 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1977, he was a special assignment coach for the Mets. In 1969, his scouting responsibilities included reporting on the Orioles, who were ultimately defeated by the "Miracle Mets" in the 1969 World Series. For his contributions, he earned a World Series ring. He was inducted into the Middle Atlantic Major League Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame in 1995.
After his retirement from professional baseball in 1977, he was elected Dorchester County treasurer for three terms from 1979 to 1991.
Mr. Robinson was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative board, pastor-parish relations committee, board of trustees and finance committee and as treasurer. He was also a member of the Cambridge Country Club, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW and Dorchester Post 91 American Legion.
On Nov. 1, 1941, he married the former Margaret "Sweetie" Warren. They were married for more than 52 years before she passed away March 22, 1994.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Robinson Baird and husband Jay of Centerville, and Susan W. Robinson of Cambridge; one son, Robert G. Robinson and wife Barbara of Chesapeake, Va.; four grandchildren, David W. Baird and wife JoAnn of Georgetown, Del., Margaret E. Robinson, Amanda M. Robinson and Anna E. Robinson of Chesapeake, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth S. Baird of Georgetown, Del.; one niece, Edna Mae Hoge of Cambridge; one nephew, Glenn Robinson of Cambridge; and one cousin, Ellen Marie Foster of Easton.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two half brothers, Waldo Robinson and Merritt Robinson, and one half sister, Rita Sheehan.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale L. Vroman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery near Hurlock.
Pallbearers will be Ed Woolfolk, Bob Davis, Ernest Jones, Lloyd Robbins, Richard Messick and Glenn Robinson.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 tonight at the Thomas Funeral Home.

Mary F. Brock
SALISBURY - Mary Frances Brock, 61, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 15, 1940 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Willey Moulton and Charles H. Moulton.
Mrs. Brock was raised on Taylors Island and then resided in Salisbury the balance of her life.
She loved to crochet and draw.
She is survived by one sister, Barbara Holliday, wife of Robert Holliday Sr. of East Petersburg, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Linthichum.
There will be no memorial services. The Bounds Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Ann J. Matthews
CAMBRIDGE - Ann Jones Matthews, 84, formerly of Baltimore, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002.
She was born Feb. 14, 1919 near Salem, the daughter of the late James Henry Jones and Ida Mae Jones.
She was married to Irving Matthews, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Matthews was a member of The Lighthouse Church of God in East New Market. She had worked in factories as an oyster shucker.
She is survived by a brother, the Rev. Wardell Jones of Baltimore and four sisters: Mary Pinder of Linkwood, Mable Lake of Williamsburg, Juanita Jones of Cambridge and Jerlean Dockins of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lighthouse Church of God in East New Market with the Rev. Calvin Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Thompsontown Cemetery, Thompsontown. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the service on Tuesday.

Luther C. Cornish
CAMBRIDGE - Luther Calvin Cornish, 90, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002 at his home.
He was born Aug. 30, 1911 in Cambridge, son of the late Robert Cornish Sr. and Doraward Cornish.
Mr. Cornish is survived by two sisters, Essie Mae Woolford and Isadora Brown and one brother, Fred W. Cornish, all of Cambridge.
Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete at this time, are being handled by the Boardley Funeral Home.
John R. Burton
CAMBRIDGE - John R. "Johnny" Burton, 80, passed away Thursday evening, April 4, 2002, at Dorchester General Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months and had been a patient at DGH for 10 days.
Born in Cambridge Sept. 20, 1921, he was the son of the late John Riley and Viola Jones Burton. He attended schools in Cambridge.
In the early part of World War II, he worked as a carpenter at the Cambridge Shipyard in construction of motor torpedo boats. From Dec. 1, 1942, to Jan. 27, 1946, he served in the U.S. Army and had served in Germany.
After World War II, he worked for Choptank Construction. He worked as a floor covering installer for Home Beautiful for more than 40 years. He also worked for George B. Todd, maintaining rental properties.
He was a member of Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW.
On May 5, 1947, he was married to the former Sallie Mowbray.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one granddaughter, Rena M. Brooks, and her husband, Robert L. Brooks, of Secretary; one great-granddaughter, Katelyn M. Brooks of Secretary; one sister, Peggy Carroll of Easton; two brothers, Donald L. Burton and James R. Burton of Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda E. Tyler; three sisters, Clara McCall, Gloria Bromwell and Dorothy North; and one brother, Leon M. Burton.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas Funeral Home. David W. Tolley will officiate. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Mowbray, Kenneth Mowbray, Robert L. Brooks, Harry Short, Billy Short and Daniel Woolford.
The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.
