Regina A. Rumbley
EAST NEW MARKET - Regina Ann Rumbley, 88, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
Born Nov. 14, 1913, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Juras and Lena Tobat Juras. As a young girl, she moved to Dorchester County, where she worked on Straight Shore Farm, which her family owned. She later worked for several years at the shirt factory in Secretary.
The last a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Secretary, where she taught religious education and sang in the church choir.
She married William Ernest Rumbley Sr. on April 21, 1944. He passed away Nov. 13, 1987.
Mrs. Rumbley is survived by one son, William E. Rumbley Jr. and wife, JoAnn, of Cambridge; two daughters, Barbara Rumbley of East New Market and Rosemary R. Robbins and husband, Tommy, of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Christy R. Lednum, Tommy T. Robbins Jr., Marian Y. Robbins and Michelle R. Robbins; six sisters, Theresa Juras of East New Market, Marie Juras of East New Market, Florence Tacchetti of Abingdon, Lillian Juras of Wilmington, Del., Loretta Juras of Wilmington, Del., and Sister Irene Juras of Ashton, Pa.; and several nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Brother Leonard J. Juras.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony F. Greco will officiate. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Council Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas P. Robbins, Thomas P. Robbins Jr., Charles N. Lednum III, Joseph Gorski, John Gorski and Victor J. Tacchetti.
A viewing will take place 7 to 8:30 tonight at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. A rosary service will be recited at 8 p.m.

Rose M. Stanley
CAMBRIDGE - Rose Mary Stanley, 79, of Federalsburg died on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at the Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born on Aug. 31, 1923 in Maryland.
She received her education in the schools of Dorchester County.
She is survived by one sister, Edna Briggs of Federalsburg; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Solomon A.U.M.P. Church in Williamsburg, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg.
Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Hurlock.
Margaret R.D. Nickles
PORT ANGELES, Wash. - Margaret Richardson Davis Nickles, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at her home.
Born Dec. 13, 1921, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of William Burgess and Mattie Evans Richardson and the niece of Howard "Sleepy" Evans.
Following the death of her first husband, S. Owen Davis, she embarked on a 25-year career in hospital administration that included positions at Dorchester General Hospital and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, as well as the position of chief of the booking office at Deaconess Hospital in Boston. While on staff at DGH in the 1960s, she hosted a radio program on WCEM, covering hospital activities.
In 1980, she retired to Port Angeles, where she met and married Charles E. Nickles. She was a member of the BZ Chapter PEO, the Port Angeles Community Players, the Klahhane Hiking Club and the First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Stanley O. Davis of Onancock, Va., and Frederic D.G. Davis II of Lynnwood, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
William E. Jarrell Jr.
CAMBRIDGE - William E. Jarrell Jr., 84, of Cambridge passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 2002, at Dorchester General Hospital.
Born in Ridgely on Feb. 26, 1918, he was the son of the late William Edward and Bertha Jackson Jarrell. He was raised an attended public schools in Ridgely and later graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in agriculture.
As a young man he joined the Maryland National Guard and in July 1942 went on active duty in the U.S. Army. He completed officer training school and became an infantry officer. After serving in France and Germany, his tour of active duty ended in March 1946.
For 29 years, he was employed by Campbell Soups. While with Campbell, he resided in Salisbury, Lansdale, Pa., and Chicago.
After retiring from Campbell, he managed CAG Farms in Kent County for eight yeas. He lived in Cambridge for the past 17 years after full retirement.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and Dorchester Post 91 American Legion. He was a former member of Cambridge B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1272.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Naomi Duncan; one son, William E. Jarrell III of Chicago; two grandchildren, Beth Ann Knicker and Zachary William Jarrell; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Knicker, Kenneth Knicker and Owen Jarrell; one sister, Margaret Palmer of Largo, Fla.; one brother, Kenneth W. Jarrell of Cabin Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Jarrell.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale L. Vroman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James "Nick" Hurley, Jay Jarrell, Zachary Jarrell, Josh Knicker, Bruce Nossick and Eddie Nossick.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Vernon J. Feehley
CAMBRIDGE - Vernon James Feehley, 83, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Baltimore on May 4, 1919, he was the son of the late Timothy Leo Feehley and Marie Merriken Feehley.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was employed by Exxon Corp. in Baltimore until 1964, when he went on pension.
He was a member of VFW Post 7460, attended the Cambridge MAC Center and volunteered at the Salvation Army.
From 1964 to 1971, he and his wife, Helen Frances Feehley, had a seasonal home in Taylors Island. In 1971, they moved to Dorchester County permanently. He enjoyed gardening and crabbing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dennis Feehley of Belair and Timothy Robert Feehley of Cambridge; one daughter, Deborah Marie Mohr of Preston; and five grandchildren, Ronald D. Mohr, Michael D. Feehley, Kimberly Elms, Timothy Leo Feehley and Keith James Feehley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery Chapel in Beulah. The Rev. Denzil Cheek will officiate.
A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.

Mary A. Brown-Carr
HURLOCK - Mary Alice Brown-Carr, 70, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, at Memorial Hospital at Easton following a long illness.
Born in Cambridge on Aug. 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Brown-Fletcher. She attended public schools in Dorchester County and lived in Hurlock her whole life.
She was baptized and became a member of Hurlock United Methodist Church. She loved cooking, fishing, going on bus trips to plays and being around her family.
She is survived by her stepfather, Milburn Fletcher; three daughters, La Verne Strawberry, Myra Neal and Tracy Molock; one stepdaughter, Debbie Blake; one son, Keith Brown; one son-in-law, Derrick Molock; 13 grandchildren; one grandson-in-law; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dolly Rhodes, Delorse Mosley, Mary Adams, Dorothy Adams and Anna Belle Holland; one brother, Charles Adams; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and a special cousin, Evelyn Blake, with whom she grew up as a sister.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Carr; and one son, Rodney Neal.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Hurlock United Methodist Church.
Viewings will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Rachel H. Warfield
CAMBRIDGE - Rachel H. Warfield, 92, passed away late Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 at the Dorchester General Hospital. She had been in failing health for two weeks and had been a patient at DGH since Tuesday.
She was born June 7, 1910 at Rhodesdale, the daughter of the late Alpheus Nichols and Rose Bradley Harper. She graduated from Hurlock High School in 1927 and had also attended Goldey Beacom College.
For two years Mrs. Warfield had taught school at the Hurlock High School, and later worked in the Dorchester County Treasurer's Office. She later worked at the County Trust Co. Bank in Cambridge. For 64 years she had been a local Avon representative.
On July 2, 1947 she was married to Larue H. Warfield. He passed away on Nov. 7, 1983.
Mrs. Warfield had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge for over 50 years and had also been a member of the United Methodist Women, and was also a member of Minerva Chapter No. 50 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her survivors include four nephews, James N. Harper and William A. Harper, both of Rhodesdale, John L. Cook of Annapolis and Harvey Carlisle Cook of Wallingford, Pa. and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James N. Harper Sr.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Members of Minerva Chapter 50 O.E.S. will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Levin Butler
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Levin Butler, 70, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at the Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia.
He was born Sept. 14, 1932 in Vienna, son of Emma Butler and the late William Butler.
He received his education in Dorchester County Schools. He later moved to Philadelphia, Pa. where he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Trans-Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Brown Butler who passed away on July 22, 2002.
In addition to his mother of Vienna, Mr. Butler is survived by one daughter, Doretha Williams of Gainsville, Fla.; two sons, Anthony Ennels of Cambridge and Wesley Oliver of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Aljennet Perry and Arenda Butler, both of Vienna; three brothers, William Butler Jr. of Vienna, Webster Butler (Marlene) of New Jersey and Wilbert Butler (Brenda) of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Vienna Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Hurlock.
Ottalee H. Sneed
VIENNA - Ottalee Helen Sneed, 78, died Monday evening, Nov. 11, 2002 at the Talbot Hospice Foundation in Easton.
She was born March 5, 1924 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Otto Wingate and Lula Willey Wingate.
Mrs. Sneed was a graduate of Cambridge High School, class of 1943.
On June 27, 1944, she married Troy S. Sneed. He died June 6, 1976.
Mrs. Sneed was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Dorchester Unit 91, American Legion Auxiliary.
She operated the Nanticoke Inn in Vienna with her husband from 1956-1966. She later was employed by the Dorchester School Board in the cafeteria at Vienna Elementary School.
Mrs. Sneed was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed all sports.
Surviving is her daughter, Cathy Bramble of Vienna; a sister, Kitty Jones of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Kim Abey of Hurlock, Troi Lynn Jones of Woolford, Michael Bramble Jr. of Vienna; three great-grandchildren, Sam Abey IV, Brooke Abey, Taylor Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were a son, Wally Sneed, who died in 1968; three siblings, Elizabeth, Guy and Henry Willey and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Bramble.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Eric Mahon, Brian Mahon, Mark Dennis, Sam Abey III, Chris Jones and Russell Willoughby Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Nick Hurley, Neil Willoughby, Bill Windsor, Donald Wroten Sr. and Ronald Wroten.

Virginia M. Neild
BALTIMORE - Virginia Myrtle Neild, 80, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at the Wesley Home Care Center.
She was born April 19, 1922 in Baltimore, the daughter of the late Outterbridge H. Neild and Myrtle Dunnock Neild.
Mrs. Neild was a secretary for the Board of Education. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore.
Surviving is a sister, Bertie Preston of Randallstown and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor May.
Graveside services will be held noon Saturday at Old Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, Church Creek. Arrangements are by the Burrier-Queen Funeral Directors, P.A. in Winfield.

Ajamu T. King
CAMBRIDGE - Ajamu Tabaria King, 25, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2002 at Dorchester General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 7, 1977 in Dorchester County, son of Lynn Diane Patterson and Robert King.
Ajamu attended the public schools of Dorchester County and graduated from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury.
After graduation, he enrolled in the TESST Institute in Baltimore and completed the electronics certificate program.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a short period of time. Upon returning to Cambridge, he became employed at Black and Decker.
Playing basketball was his favorite past-time sport.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Taboo and Tasha King, Dawn Palmore; four brothers, Ashad and Rashad Duncan, Anthony Ross, Robert King; a daughter, Amira Ennels; grandmother, Nellie Sudler; grandfather, Paul Sudler; five aunts - Jane Rossier, Mary Petion, April Pinkett, Kathryn Patterson, Paulette Matkin; three uncles - Howard King, Larry King and Tyrone Patterson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Linton King; maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Sarah Patterson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Henry Funeral Home in Cambridge. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Carolyn D. Campbell-Chestnut
CAMBRIDGE - Carolyn Denise Campbell-Chestnut, 46, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002 at the University Specialty Hospital in Baltimore.
She was born June 13, 1956 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Austin and Mary Durham.
Mrs. Chestnut received her education in the public schools of Dorchester County and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1974.
Soon after graduation she moved to Georgia and on July 29, 1974 she was married to Howard Chestnut. From that union three children were born.
In 1989, she returned to Cambridge and became employed in general merchandising. Although her prolonged 20-year illness limited her activities, she still enjoyed singing and was a member of various church choirs.
Her survivors include three daughters - Liykinda Camper of Baltimore, Chakena Chestnut and Marketa Chestnut, both of Cambridge; two sons - Dante Camper and Howard Chestnut Jr., both of Cambridge; and a brother, Michael Campbell of Pocomoke. She is also survived by an aunt, Martha McCrae and an uncle, Elijah Durham, both of Cambridge; five grandchildren; one nephew; a mother-in-law, Mildred Chestnut of Georgia; five brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law, all of Georgia and numerous cousins - Billy and Thelma London, Pauline Graves, Jimmie Durham, Walker Durham, Angela Durham, all of Georgia, Mary Johnson of Florida, Clementine Lott of New York, Vickie and Claude Burwell of New Jersey, Margaret and John Austin of Ohio, Charles and Frankie Lott of New York and special friends, Ada Wongus, Elizabeth Garrison, Carolyn Thompson Christian, all of Cambridge and Pauline Payton of Washington, D.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Calvin Campbell; a stepmother, Annie Sampson; a father-in-law, Joseph Chestnut and a cousin, Queen Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Missionary Baptist Church in Cambridge. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.

Mabel V. Skinner-Harris
TRAPPE - Mabel Virginia Skinner-Harris, 65, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton.
She was born April 16, 1937 in Easton, daughter of the late Medford Skinner and Anna Mae Harris.
Mrs. Harris was educated in the public schools of Talbot County and was a graduate of the Moton High School, class of 1956. After graduation she attended Bowie State College for two years.
On Nov. 2, 1963 she was married to Gary Harris.
Her employment was at Allen Foods from 1960-1985 and she also died various other jobs from 200-2002. Her last employment was with the Mid-Shore Residential Care serving as home health aide.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Scott's United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the Senior Choir and the Young at Heart. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Jackson Jubilee Singers and Founder and president of the Gospel Travelers.
Mrs. Harris is survived by four children - Shelly Harris of Ohio, Everett Harris of Cambridge, Marieca Jenkins of Trappe, Karen Harris of Delaware; seven grandchildren - Gayle Evans (Troy), Tony Palmer Jr., Travis Green, Teara Harris, Jordan Jenkins, Chadnee Harris and Kacee Miller; a great-grandson, Tyrique Evans; two brothers, Leroy Skinner of Unionville and Andrew Skinner of Royal Oak; three sisters-in-law; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; a devoted friend who was like a sister, Patricia Freeman.
She was preceded in death by four brothers - Edward, James, Robert and Harold Skinner and two sisters, Gladys Jenkins and Anna Skinner.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Scott's United Methodist Church, Trappe with the Rev. Joseph Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Cemetery in Easton. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service.
