GARY J. BROWNING
SYKESVILLE -- Gary Jose Browning, 44, of 5838 Oklahoma Road, Sykesville, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Carroll County Hospital, Westminster.
Born in Baltimore, on March 4, 1956, he was the son of James Browning of Westminster, and the late Freda (Wilt) Browning.
Mr. Browning was a Department Manager for Giant supermarket, and was an avid hunter. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving in addition to his father, are a sister, Kim Lucinda Benge of Fruitland; and two brothers, Terry James Browning of Sykesville, and Tim Wayne Browning of Fillmore, Calif.
The family received friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dallas Bunch officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
MARY G. REEVES
LAVALE -- Mary Grace (Mauzy) Reeves, 75, of 398 National Highway, LaVale, went to be with Lord on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at her residence.
Born on Sept. 19, 1925, in Flintstone, she was the daughter of the late Saul P. Mauzy and Gertrude (Mallow) Mauzy. She was also preceded in death five brothers, William, Aubrey, Carl, Keith and Clarence Mauzy; and two sisters, Irene Mauzy and Ruth Maphis.
Mrs. Reeves was a homemaker and attended the Central Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald F. Reeves, LaVale; two sons, Gary F. Reeves, Silver Spring, and David G. (Jody) Reeves and wife Wendy, Eldersburg; two sisters, Retha Cosgrove, Jacksonville, Fla., and Madeline Boggess, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Robert P. Reeves, Jennifer M. Reeves, Heather Grace Reeves, Melissa Saville and Bryan F. Reeves; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Grace Dickson.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Douglas Seaman and the Rev. Robert Hymes officiating.
Interment will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Flintstone.
THOMAS F. REESE
BARTON -- Thomas F. Reese of Barton, (Garrett County), died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, from cancer at the age 55.
Born on Nov. 30, 1945, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Roy J. Reese, Alexander, Va., and the late Helen (Davis) Reese. He was also preceded in death by his foster father, Delwood Merrill.
Mr. Reese served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam. He was a long-haul truck driver for 20 years. Tom was also a past member of the Gideon Society and a licensed Brethren minister in the West Marva District. Since July 1999, he served as co-pastor at the Oak Hill Wesleyan Church, McCoole.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon E. (Oester) Reese; a son, T.J. Reese and fiancee Brenda Leatherman and son, Owen, Lonaconing; and a daughter, Windi Tichnell and husband Clint, and son, Brandon, Swanton. In addition to his father, he is also survived by his step mother, Sarah Reese; a half brother, David Reese, Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Jeff Reese and wife Carol, Owasso, Okla.; his foster mother, Pansy Merrill, Barton; and a foster brother, Darrell Merrill and wife Sharon, Columbia.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating. The body will be cremated. Dinner will follow the funeral at the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren.

TAMMY R. KIMMEL
LANDISBURG, Pa. -- Tammy R. Kimmel, 33, of Landisburg, RR#1, died Tuesday in Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was born on May 27, 1967, in Cumberland, Md.
She was an employee of Ross Distibution, Carlisle, a member of the Landisburg Church of God and the Landisburg Ambulance Club.
Surviving are her husband, Robert B. Kimmel; a son, Joshua B. Kimmel, at home; her parents, Samuel S. and Phyllis M. Lee Broadwater, Landisburg; two brothers, Timothy R. Broadwater, Loysville, and Roy F. Broadwater, Shermans Dale; a sister, Barbara A. Keller, Landisburg; paternal grandmother, Thelma V. Blank, Mechanicsburg; maternal grandmother, Janie E. Lee, Nikep, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Landisburg Church of God on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. H. James Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery, Loysville.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, and in the church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.

TERRY L. DETRICK
CARPENDALE, W.Va. -- Terry Linwood Detrick, 57, of Carpendale, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 19, 2001.
Born on Jan. 14, 1944, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Israel Edmund and Dorothy Elizabeth (Sechrist) Detrick. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Michael Detrick.
Mr. Detrick was a graduate of Ridgeley High School. Mr. Detrick was in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 until 1966, where he served in the Air Police and Fire Department.
Mr. Detrick had been employed by the B&O Railroad and the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. More recently, he had worked for Blue & White Charter Service as a tour driver.
Mr. Detrick was a life member of the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department, with 35 years of service. He held the position of president for over 25 years.
In addition, he served on the Mineral County Ambulance Authority and was a Delegate for the Mineral County Firefighters' Association.
Survivors include his wife, Paula (Lindsay) Detrick; one daughter, Cheryl Shipley and husband Robert, Ridgeley; one son, Christopher Detrick, Carpendale; three brothers, James Detrick, Frostburg; his twin brother, Jerry Detrick, Ridgeley, and Stephen Detrick, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; six nieces; and three nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, Md., on Wednesday and Thursday, both days, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Officers and members of the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harry L. Burchell Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by the Local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Kevin Detrick and Ron Grove, and members of the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department, Mike Hogan, Robert Nimick, Robert Glantzer, Robbie Pollock, Lynn Carr and Bill Ryan.
