SHEILA M. GRAPES
ROMNEY, W.Va. -- Sheila M. Grapes (Bowman), 58, of Romney, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney.
Born March 28, 1942, in Picton, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late William Mitchell and the late Winifred Dorothy Rodway Mitchell. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Paul W. Grapes and Donald Lee Bowman.
Mrs. Grapes was retired as a Regional Manager for Rainsoft, Winchester, Va. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Romney, the Women of the Moose, Lodge 1177, Romney, and Social Member, Wappocommo Post 1101 V.F.W., Romney.
Surviving are three sons, Reggie Christenson, Gabriola Island, British Columbia, Canada, Robert Clark, Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, and Andrew Clark, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; three stepsons, Kenneth P. Grapes, Augusta, Todd Bowman and Daniel Bowman, both of Norvelt, Pa.; one daughter, Lisa A. Grapes, Miami, Fla.; four stepdaughters, Arlene Leonard, Shepardstown, Kelley Grapes Palley, Stuarts Draft, Va., Paula Stauf, Romney, and Jennifer Palangio, New Huningdon, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 1 p.m. with Father Richard D. Reece officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date.
WILLIAM R. CUTTER
MIDLAND -- William Russell Cutter, 77, of Paradise Street, Midland, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where he had been a patient since June 23, 2000.
Born in Midland on May 7, 1923, he was a son of the late Russell Cutter and Helen (Stewart) Cutter. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Morton) Cutter; one stepson, Calvin Thrasher; two brothers, Payne Cutter and Robert Cutter; and one sister, Virginia Helmstetter.
Mr. Cutter was retired from General Motors as an inspector on the finish line, Pontiac, Mich., member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, where he was an usher, an Army veteran of World War II, and member of Alvin C. Neat Post #5280, VFW, Lonaconing.
Surviving are two sisters, Kathleen Mace and husband Carl, Petersburg, W.Va., and Maxine Phillips and husband Bob, Short Gap, W.Va.; one brother, Richard Cutter, Lonaconing; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Alvin C. Neat Post #5280, VFW, will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Neva Leatherwood officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
ORA E. FINT
LONACONING -- Ora Ellen (Amtower) Fint, 80, of 17400 Engine House Row, Lonaconing, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the home of her daughter.
Born Aug. 22, 1920, in Laureldale, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Ida Virginia (Bosley) Amtower.
Mrs. Fint was a 1938 graduate of Petersburg High School and owned and operated Coney Dry Cleaners for 35 years along with her husband, Renzie B. Fint who preceded her in death in 1976. She also was preceded in death by four brothers; and four sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Shirley Deniker and husband John, Lonaconing; one stepson, Donald Fint and wife Beverly, Maryville, Tenn.; two special grandsons, John B. Deniker, Westernport, and Jeff Deniker and wife Susan, Bridgeport, W.Va. Also surviving are four sisters, Margie Shanks and Yvonne Warner, Akron, Ohio, Flora Kessel, Keyser, W.Va., and Nevada Amtower, Laureldale; one brother, Lake Amtower and wife Naomi, Laureldale; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Broadwater, Lonaconing, and Virginia Iman, Keyser.
She attended the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Sause officiating.
Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Home Hospice.
JAMES E. BRANTNER
SWANTON -- James Elwood Brantner, 73, of Swanton, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland where he was admitted earlier in the day.
Born June 5, 1927, in Elk Garden, W.Va., Jimmy was a son of the late Ira M. and Ethel (Alander) Brantner. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Masons for over 45 years. Jimmy also was a member of the Deer Park VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Lois (McRobie) Brantner; one son, James L. Brantner of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Linda Meyer and Pamela Forsberg, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four brothers, David Brantner of Bamberg, S.C., Lester Brantner and William Brantner, both of Kitzmiller, and Robert Brantner of Baltimore; three sisters, Hazel Pyle of Morgantown, W.Va., Izeta Hoehle of Lucerne Valley, Calif., and Inez Tyler of Kitzmiller; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Calhoun officiating.
Interment will be in the Kalbaugh cemetery with military services provided by the combined veterans organizations.
RONALD E. WOLFF JR.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Ronald Edward Wolff Jr., 32, of 15 Marcus Drive, Morgantown, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, March 1, 2001, as a result of an industrial accident at the downtown Morgantown Power Plant.
Born Dec. 5, 1968, in Cumberland, he was the son of Ronald E. and Rayanna Marie (Fisher) Wolff Sr. of LaVale, Md.
Ronald was a 1987 graduate of Fort Hill High School and was employed as an operator at Dominion Resources, Morgantown.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 10 years, Rhonda (Dettmer) Wolff; two sons, Ryan Wolff and Tyler Wolff; and a daughter, Sierra Rose Wolff, all at home; a sister, Tammy Twigg of Cresaptown; brother, Scott Wolff of McCoole; maternal grandmother, Rose Fisher of Tremont, Pa.; mother-in-law, Catherine Richards and husband Kenneth of Oldtown, Md.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at 12 noon with Pastor Denny Michael officiating.
Private interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Pallbearers will be Greg Degiovanni, Ralph Twigg, Bryon Konis, Jason Merrill, Robbie Cuppett and William Smith.

LAVALE -- C. Camilla "Millie" Dressman, 89, of Lions Manor Nursing Home, formerly of LaVale, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice.
Born Dec. 26, 1911, in Scottdale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Snyder and Carrie (Gibson) Snyder. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Dressman; one son, Bernard J. Dressman; one brother, Edward Snyder; and one sister, Lucille Day.
Mrs. Dressman was retired from Murphy's Department Store and Dressman's Grocery Store. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, the Secular Order of St. Francis, and an associate of the Ursuline Sisters.
Surviving are one son, John F. Dressman and wife Monica, Greensburg, Pa.; one daughter, Sr. Rita J. Dressman, O.S.U., Cumberland; four brothers, Andrew Snyder, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Joseph Snyder and wife Sara, Wiley Ford, Bernard Snyder, Wiley Ford, and Robert Snyder and wife Marian, Frederick; and two grandsons, Thomas A. Dressman and Robert J. Dressman, both of Greensburg.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Vernon Busch, O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant.
Interment will be in the SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Cumberland.
