ELIZABETH L. BENNETT
FROSTBURG -- Miss Elizabeth Linn Bennett, 94, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Lorien Nursing Center in Mount Airy.
Born April 27, 1906, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Burman and Margaret Linn Bennett.
Miss Bennett graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree and from Johns Hopkins University with a master's degree in elementary education. She spent 30 years teaching first grade in the Baltimore County School System. Throughout her life, she pursued her love of watercolor and oil painting and exhibited some of her works. She was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mount Airy.
Surviving her are a sister, Corrinne Bennett Watkins of Mount Airy; a nephew, Donald J. Bell and wife Carolyn; a niece, Joan Armentrout; great-niece, Brenda Bell Williams; great-nephew, Brad L. Bell and wife Leslie; two great-great-nephews, Justin Williams and Nathan Bell; and great-great-niece, Megan Bell.
Miss Bennett was preceded in death by her brother, George Linn Bennett; and sister, Lola Bennett Bell.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, at the Olin L. Molesworth P.A. Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mount Airy.
Interment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park at 1 p.m.

RIDGELEY, W.Va. -- Friends will be received for Franklin Thomas "Tom" Twigg Jr. at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Emmanuel House of Prayer on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Oldtown.

FLINTSTONE -- Friends will be received for Raymond Richard Chaney at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.
PAUL T. HEALY, M.D.
KEYSER, W.Va. -- Dr. Paul T. Healy, 75, of 111 Maple Ave., Keyser, died on Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born in Piedmont on Dec. 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Ellen (Laffey) Healy. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Kay (Kidwell) Healy on June 29, 1999; and a brother, Joseph L. Healy.
Dr. Healy was a graduate of Piedmont High School, Potomac State College, Emory-Henry College, attended the University of Penn and Georgia and he interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C. He was a physician in Keyser for 44 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Keyser, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Kelley-Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont, and the V.F.W. Post #3518 Nancy Hanks, Keyser.
Surviving are his sons, Gary Healy, Terry Healy, Jeff Healy, Danny Healy, Timmy Healy and Matt Healy; his daughters, Tana Leilich, Sandy Brafford, Gwena Tinker, Wendy Healy (with whom he resided), and Paula Snider; his stepchildren, Kim Davis, Tammy Wood, Eric Perrine, Nathan Stone and Corbin Stone; his sister, Eileen Gillespie of Westernport; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser, on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R., as celebrant.
Inurnment will be held at the St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
The Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, is handling the arrangements.
KENNETH P. MCBRIDE
PAW PAW, W.Va. -- Kenneth P. "Dan" McBride, 77, of Paw Paw, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Oct. 11, 1923, in Levels, he was the son of the late Earnest McBride and the late Velvia Powell McBride.
Mr. McBride was retired as a maintenance mechanic from Kopper's Tie Plant, Green Spring. He was an Army veteran of World War II, Quarter Master, and a 50-year member of the American Legion Post #91, Romney.
Surviving are his wife, Zetta Herbaugh Shanholtz McBride; one son, Michael McBride, Romney; two daughters, Mary Kathryn Calcamp, Horseshoe Run, and Patricia Rinker, Romney; 10 stepchildren; one brother, Roland McBride, Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Mary Dickens, Levels, and June Chaney, Levels; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Wednesday, March 7, 2001, from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, Thursday, March 8, 2001, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Delbert Poling officiating.
Interment will be in the Levels Cemetery, Levels. A military service will be accorded by the Hampshire County Veterans Honor Guard at the graveside.
NORMA J. WILSON
CUMBERLAND -- Norma Jean Wilson, 69, of Cumberland, formerly of Baltimore, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 14, 1931, in Birch River, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Rosetta (Knight) Hamrick. She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Wilson was Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Edward F. Wilson, Cumberland; one sister, Mary Reynolds, Trainer, Pa.; and one sister-in-law, Blanche Comer and husband Albert, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

FRANCIS E. STITCHER
RIDGELEY, W.Va. -- Francis "Stitch" Eugene Stitcher, 74, of Rt. 1, Box 458, Ridgeley, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 21, 1926, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Peter Frank Stitcher and Lillie Mae (Daniels) Stitcher. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Jo (Nelson) Stitcher in 1982.
Mr. Stitcher was a retired meat cutter for Day's Market, a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three stepdaughters, Carol Jean Ricker and husband Tom, LaVale, Debbie K. Kienhofer, Ridgeley, and Karen Ann Kienhofer, Rawlings, Md.; one sister, Julia E. Walters, Laceyspring, Ala.; and two grandchildren, Toni Ricker, LaVale, and Brendon Kienhofer, Ridgeley.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father Vernon Busch, O.F.M., officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
