PHYLIS M. MCGILL
YELLVILLE, Ariz. -- Phylis Margaret Maxine McGill, 84, of Yellville, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at her residence in Yellville.
Born on Feb. 9, 1917, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Ora (Paul) Souders. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Harper McGill in 1976.
Mrs. McGill was a homemaker. She served as secretary in the ammunition plant in Hawaii during World War II. She was a Catholic by faith.
Surviving are one son, Robin Matthew McGill and wife Diane; two grandchildren, Matthew and Juliane McGill, all of Yellville.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 9 until 10 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Vernon Busch, OFM, Cap., officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
ISABELL M. SWEITZER
CUMBERLAND -- Isabell M. Sweitzer, 93, of Cumberland, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Aug. 28, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Kate (Wellen) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Simon J. Sweitzer; three brothers, Charles, Louis and John Walter Smith.
Mrs. Sweitzer was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of God. She was an avid doll collector, who enjoyed restoring antique baby dolls and making doll clothing.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol J. Combs and husband James, and M. Jane Poland, all of Cumberland; two sons, Andrew R. Sweitzer and wife Barbara, and Donald L. Sweitzer and wife Patricia, all of Flintstone; one sister, Louise Smith, Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, Donald Sweitzer and wife Patricia, Kathy Broadwater and husband Wayne, Mark Sweitzer and wife Katherine, Christa Conner and husband Jeffery, Sandy Durkin and husband John, Mary Stone and husband Mike, Michelle Mull and husband Les, Shari Maszkiewicz and husband Jeff, Julie Hott and husband James and Holly Smith and husband Wade; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral and committal services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Samuel L. Seletyn officiating.

SARAH L. SCHROYER
WILLOUGHLY HILLS, Ohio -- Sarah Leone Schroyer, 62, of Willoughly Hills, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Hospice House, Cleveland.
Born on May 8, 1938, in Confluence, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Lela (Fike) Lytle.
Mrs. Schroyer was a member of the Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church. She was a technician for Picker X-ray, retired in 1999, after 32 years of service and was a member of Woodman of the World, Lodge 45, Friendsville, Md.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 46 years, Douglas K. Schroyer; one daughter, Deborah L. Consolo and husband Greg, Lyndhurst; one son, Mark D. Schroyer and fiancee Marie Nicholson, Hoschton, Ga.; three brothers, Elmer Lytle, Douglassville, Pa., Burton Lytle, Friendsville, and David Lytle, Gilbertsville, Pa.; three sisters, Ellen Dennis, Douglassville, Betty Uphold, Pottstown, Pa., and Alice Lohr, Beltsville, Md.; and she was the loving grandmother of Michael, and twins, Meredith and Lauren Consolo.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Friendsville, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Milliren officiating.
Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
JOHN P. EDWARDS
BURLINGTON, W.Va. -- John "Jack" Phillip Edwards, 72, of Burlington, died March 15, 2001, at his residence.
Born on Jan. 16, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., he was a son of the late Henry C. and Mildred (Zeigler) Edwards.
John was a retired building contractor. He was also a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving as an aerial photographer. He also served in the Coast Guard.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Paugh) Edwards; one daughter, Bette Jane Sachette and husband Joseph B. Jr. of Eldersberg, Md.; three brothers, Norman Edwards and Charles Edwards of Bonifay, Fla., Richard Edwards of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Patricia Kimble Woodside of Kansas City, Kan. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Joseph Sachetti III, Jonathan A. and Jill Marie Sachetti.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home in Kitzmiller, Md.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Nethken Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald E. Marple officiating.
Interment will be in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden.
Military graveside services will be accorded by the combined veterans organizations.
THELMA M. TWIGG
CUMBERLAND -- Thelma Martha Twigg, 81, of Bedford Road, Cumberland, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 10, 1919, in Burlington, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Price and Almeda (Smith) Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. Twigg in 1971; one son, Robert Lee Twigg; one sister; and four brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Twigg was a homemaker and attended Central Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Irene Emerick, Bowling Green; two sons, Gilbert Eugene Twigg and wife Geneva, Barboursville, W.Va., and Kenneth William Twigg, Centerville, Pa.; one daughter-in-law, Eva May Twigg, Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Seaman officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

DEER PARK -- June Elizabeth Smith, 70, of Deer Park, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland.
Born on June 13, 1930, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Tasker and Nellie (Hardesty) Tasker.
Mrs. Smith was retired from the C&P Telephone Co., as an operator.
Surviving are three sons, W. Lane Smith, Lynchburg, Va., Stephen W. Smith, Oakland, and Robert M. Smith, Coca, Fla.; one brother, Robert Tasker, Deer Park; one sister, Sharon Tasker, Deer Park; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Mt. Top Christian Assembly, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery.
