Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.
THOMAS G. BRAKEALL
RISING SUN -- Thomas G. Brakeall, 86, of Rising Sun, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Sunbridge Care Center in Elkton.
Mr. Brakeall was the owner/operator of Brakeall's Sunoco Gas Station from 1952 to 1985. He was a member of many sporting associations and various sportsman's clubs. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie W. Brakeall of Rising Sun; two sons, Thomas E. Brakeall of Hawthorne Woods, Ill., and John Brakeall of Chadds Ford, Pa.; two daughters, Alice Van Pelt of Seattle, Wash., and Jane Kuehn of Rockville; three brothers, Charles Brakeall of Cumberland, and Donald Brakeall and Ben Brakeall, both of Wiley Ford, W.Va.; one sister, Susan Davis of Martinsburg, W.Va.; eight grandsons; and five great-granddaughters.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun.

LALLA R. HANSFORD
CUMBERLAND -- Lalla R. Hansford, 85, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born on March 24, 1915, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late George Wesley and Bessie Rebecca (Pryor) Sciese. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Hansford; and one daughter, Ruth Ann Bryant.
Mrs. Hansford was a homemaker.
Surviving are six sons, William Hansford and wife Patricia, Hagerstown, Clyde A. Hansford, Ernest L. Hansford, Randy H. Hansford, Gerald J. Hansford and Michael W. Hansford and wife Tammy, all of Cumberland; 11 daughters, Ilene Smith and husband Willy, Delaware, Margaret Ferguson and husband Marshall, Virginia, Rita McKenzie and husband John, Pennsylvania, Etta Rice and husband Gary, Cumberland, Mary Jane Bake and husband Gill, Pennsylvania, Dorothy Stonebreaker and husband Jerry, Alice Ritchie, Linda Wilson and husband Donald, Cathy Barger and husband Dennis, Betty Robinett and Rebecca Bowman, all of Cumberland; two special nieces, Audrey Dix and Helen Edson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

CHARLES F. KRIGLEIN
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. -- Charles Frederick Kriglein, 84, of Fort Ashby, died Wednesday at the Hampshire Health Care Center.
Born on May 31, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late George F. and Sarah (Shaffer) Kriglein.
Mr. Kriglein had been a mechanic, working through Local #37, International Union of Operating Engineers. He had worked for the Hazelwood Corporation and the Phoenix Corporation.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Grace (Hinkle) Kriglein; one daughter, Carolyn Troutman and husband Jim, Fort Ashby; one son, Fred Kriglein and wife Reba, Short Gap; one brother, Louis Kriglein, Geneva, Ohio; three sisters, Matilda Carnes, a resident of Lions Manor Nursing Home, Anna Mae Burns and Mary Jane Knapp, Geneva; and five grandchildren, Victoria Myers, Hagerstown, Tony Myers, Keyser, Lori VanPelt, Cumberland, Aimee Lynch, Angier, N.C., and Erin Pack, Apex, N.C.; and one great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from the Trinity Untied Methodist Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
REAFORD B. PURBAUGH
OAKLAND -- Reaford B. Purbaugh, 94, of Oakland, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland.
A longtime resident of Oakland, Mr. Purbaugh was born on July 6, 1906, in Mount Savage, and was a son of the late Henry W. Purbaugh and Emma (Hutzel) Purbaugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna (Lohr) Purbaugh in 1985; his son, Reaford John (Jack) Purbaugh in 1958; and by his eight siblings including his twin brother, Roy.
Reaford and his family moved to Oakland from Meyersdale, Pa., in 1940 to open the Western Auto Store, which he operated until 1968. He was a faithful member and Past Leader in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, along with a number of fraternal and community organizations, including Oakland Lodge #192 A.F. & A.M., of which he was a Past Master and member for over 50 years. He was also a member and leader in the Oakland Rotary Club, the Eastern Star, the Ali Ghan Shrine and the Knights of Pythias. Reaford enjoyed golf and was a founding member of the Oakland Golf Club, which he belonged to for over 50 years and won the club championship in 1962.
He is survived by two grandchildren, John Purbaugh of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Barbara Loftis of Buckhannon, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Dorothy Purbaugh of Oakland.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home in Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Lawrence Sherwood officiating.
Interment will be in the Union cemetery in Meyersdale. Oakland Lodge #192 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
JAMES A. MICHAELS
MOUNT SAVAGE -- James Anthony "Tony" Michaels, 64, of Barrellville Road, Mount Savage, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at his residence.
Born on July 8, 1936, in Barrellville, he was a son of the late Edna Claire (Keller) and Wilbert Paul Michaels Sr.
Surviving are Viola E. (Hutzell) Michaels, his wife of 42 years, whom he married
on Sept. 20, 1958; a son, Ronald E. and wife Leslie (Martin), Mount Savage; daughters, Sherry L. Resh and husband Gary, Barrellville, Susan A. Halcomb and husband Kenneth, Mount Savage, and Sandy M. Michaels, Petersburg, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jessica and Brittney Resh, both of Barrellville, Joshua Michaels and fiancee Melissa Corley, Tyler and Cameron Michaels, Kristina, Katherine, Kimberly and James Halcomb, all of Mount Savage; brothers, Wilbert P. "Tim" Jr., Martinsburg, W.Va., Richard S., Short Gap, W.Va., and Edward K., Los Gatos, Calif.; sisters, Loie Weimer and Margaret "Midge" Troutman, both of Barrellville, and Bertie Cooney, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and parents-in-law, Harry E. and Sara E. (Clites) Hutzell, Hyndman, Pa.
Mr. Michaels had retired from the Celanese Corp., Cumberland, after 24 years of service. He was also a truck driver for a number of local trucking firms. He was a member of the Barrellville Outdoor Club and the Kennells Mills Sportsman's Club.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Thursday, March 22, 2001, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and for one hour immediately prior to the funeral service.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, March 23 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Shockey officiating.
Interment will be in the Hyndman Cemetery.
