ANASTASIA V. YOUNGBLOOD
MIDLAND -- Anastasia Veronica (McGann) Youngblood, 78, of 14807 Railroad Street, SW, Midland, died Memorial Day, May 28, 2001, at her residence.
Born on Aug. 9, 1922, in Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Richard A. McGann and Elizabeth Jane (Nolan) McGann. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Harry L. Youngblood in November 1976; one sister, Elizabeth Fair; and three brothers, Jim McGann, Patrick McGann and Daniel McGann.
She was a graduate of Central High School.
Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her children, Maryetta Fradiska and husband John, Frederick, James Youngblood and wife Beth, Baltimore, Paul Youngblood and wife Patty, Woodstock, Va., Charletta Yaider and husband John, Ridgeley, W.Va., Dennis Youngblood and wife Sandy, Frostburg, Elizabeth Llewellyn and husband Dennis, Hagerstown, Harry Youngblood and wife Karen, Frostburg, Joyce Raynor and husband Bump, Midland, Margaret "Peggy" Youngblood, Frostburg, Kevin Youngblood and wife Melinda, Westernport, Anastasia Bosley and husband Alfred, Bowling Green, and Patrick Youngblood and wife Sherri, Texas; 37 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Martin and husband Paul, Cumberland; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joy Broadwater, Midland.
Mrs. Youngblood was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, the Holy Name Society, the Sodality of the Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Midland Fire Company.
The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., 8 East Main St., Lonaconing, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A joint Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home by the Ladies Auxiliary of Midland Volunteer Fire Company and the Fireman.
A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Sister Joan Maenner OSF Pastorial Life Director of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, with Father Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Midland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be remaining grandsons and Tom Dunn, Bill Hunt, Don Parker, Charlie Winters and Tom McMannis.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, or Western Maryland Hospice, Cumberland.

MARY SWAIN
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Mary Swain, 83, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
Born in Lonaconing, Md., on Nov. 30, 1917, she was the daughter of Arch and Sadie Knepp Brown.
She is survived by her husband, James Brooks Swain; three sisters, Regina Moore of Frederick, Md., and Pansy Stewart of Lincoln, Va., and Betty Brant of Cumberland, Md.; and one brother, William McDonald of Cumberland.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md., on Tuesday, May 29, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Piney Plains Methodist Church Cemetery.
MARGARET D. JOHNSON
GRANTSVILLE -- Margaret D. Johnson, 91, of Grantsville, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born on Oct. 2, 1909, in Maulden, Mass., she was the daughter of the late George E. McMahon and Margaret (Harris) McMahon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Merrill L. Johnson in 1959.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired United States government employee.
Surviving are two sons, Paul M. Johnson, Grantsville, and Carl L. Johnson and wife Becky, Silver Spring; one sister, Doris Wildesen and husband Jim, Oakland; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Wednesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
LLOYD F. LEASE
MOUNT SAVAGE -- The Lord released our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Lloyd Franklin Lease, from his pain and suffering on May 26, 2001. Lloyd, age 73, of Barrellville Road, Mount Savage, died at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1927, in Cresaptown, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Rachael Anderson Lease. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia VanMeter and husband, Raymond VanMeter; and a sister-in-law, Delores Lease.
Mr. Lease was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, The Victory Medal, and the Pacific Theater Ribbon. He retired from the Cumberland Cement and Supply Company, as well as being a founding member of the Barrellville Outdoor Club, Kennel's Mill Outdoor Club, The Moose, and the Cresaptown Eagles, he was an avid Nascar fan, bowler, hunter and gardener, and had special friends to share his interests with. He enjoyed four-wheeling in the woods to his favorite deer stand and peacefully sitting on the porch watching his hummingbirds.
He was married
to his loving wife, Gloria L. (Johns) Lease for 53 years. Surviving are his children, Dale R. Lease and wife Kimberly, Vickie Skidmore and husband Wayne, Sharon Natale and husband Michael; his grandchildren, who love and adored him are Scott McGann, Jennifer L. Knieriem, April Skidmore, Ashley and Holly Lease, and Grace and Mike Natale; his two great-grandchildren, Drew and Corbin McGann, along with his grandchildren, lit up his life and he in return gave us all his gift of love and laughter; his sister, Mildred Daum and husband John of Cumberland; his brothers, Donald Lease and Robert Lease and wife Shirley, all of Buffalo, N.Y., since our family is so large, we will not be able to list all the numerous loved ones he left behind.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and were also received on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Joint Funeral Services for Mr. Lease and his nephew, James A. VanMeter, will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at 12 noon with Pastor James R. Glass and the Rev. Ed Shockey officiating.
Interment will follow in Cook Cemetery, followed by interment of Mr. VanMeter in the Zion Lutheran Reform Church Cemetery, Wellersburg. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Skidmore, Scott McGann, Carl Bittner, Mike Natale, David VanMeter and Mike Lease. Honorary pallbearers will be Chess Petenbrink, Herb Baker, Homer Gerhart, Mike Garrison, Sonny Glass and the late Jim VanMeter, his nephew whom followed him in death by one day.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lloyd to the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, c/o Pastor James R. Glass, 12816 Mt. Savage Road, NW, Mount Savage, MD 21545.
The family invites friends to join them at the Barrellville Outdoor Club following the services at the cemetery to celebrate the life of Lloyd F. Lease and James A. VanMeter.
Husband, Father, Pap, Friend, you gave us a special gift over the years and now we can add courage and strength. We will need it in the days to come for we will miss you so much.
ANNA J. FITZPATRICK
HYNDMAN, Pa. -- Anna J. Fitzpatrick, 69, of Harclerode Apartments, Hyndman, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at WMHS Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on Feb. 13, 1932, in Meyersdale, she was the last surviving child of the late Herman P. and Gertrude E. (Kirchner) Fitzpatrick. Her only sister, Mary C. Huntsberger, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Edwin J. Mullaney, Hyndman; a brother, James J. and wife Gloria I. (Reams) Fitzpatrick, Hyndman; two nephews, Frank and wife Angela (Morgan), Ellerslie, Md., and James J. Fitzpatrick Jr., Alaska; four nieces, Antoinette M. and husband Jason VanMeter, Cumberland, Brenda and husband Fred Lafferty, Buffalo Mills, Tina and husband Allen Haas, Florida, and Linda and husband Randy Jenkins, Martinsburg, W.Va.; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Ms. Fitzpatrick was a homemaker and mother. She regularly attended Central Assembly of God, Cumberland.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Hymes officiating.
Interment will be in Hyndman Cemetery.
