BERYLDINE C. STANTON
OAKLAND -- Beryldine C. Stanton, 90, of E. Oak Street, Oakland, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at her home.
Born on July 2, 1910, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Buncutter) Fulk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Stanton in 1988.
She was a former clerk for the Garrett County Register of Wills and served as the treasurer for the Town of Oakland for many years.
She is survived by two sons, James R. "Smokey" Stanton and Gary G. "Dusty" Stanton, both of Oakland; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 27, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Father Donald Parson officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

CHARLES "BILL" GURTLER
CUMBERLAND -- Charles "Bill" Gurtler, 59, died May 20, 2001.
Born on May 13, 1942, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Paul Mathew and Mildred Jean of Green Spring, W.Va.
Mr. Gurtler worked for the United States Post Office and Kennedy Space Center in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Elks, Eagles and the American Legion of Cumberland.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Ann Gurtler; step-daughter, Kimberly (Clair) Bennett and husband, David; Terry Simpson and husband, Joseph; Melody L. Chambers and husband, James; Edna Robertson and husband, Steven; Marlene Eversole and husband, John; Karen Crosten; stepsons, John Clair, Roy Bittner and Gene Bittner; daughters, Theresa and Katrina Gurtler; one son, Charles Gurtler; one brother, Steve Gurtler; stepmother, Ceil Gurtler; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 26, at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland. Burial service will be held at Rocky Gap at a later date.
At Mr. Gurtler's request, his body will be cremated.
JANE L. SNYDER
CUMBERLAND -- Jane Lee Snyder, 53, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Memorial Hospital Hospice.
Born May 28, 1947 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Mary Jane (Fleckenstein) Hollen, Cumberland and the late Edgar Lee Hollen Sr. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Terry A. Snyder Sr.; two brothers, Robert L. Hollen, and Donald J. Hollen; and one sister, D. Gayle Stevens.
Mrs. Snyder was a staffing secretary at Memorial Hospital and a former secretary at St. Mary's Elementary School. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Catherman's Business School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
In addition to her mother, surviving are one daughter, Michelle L. Snyder, Cumberland; two sons, Michael J. Snyder, Burlington, N.C., and Terry A. Snyder Jr. and wife Denise, Bel Air; three grandchildren, Nicole Snyder, Miranda Snyder, and Brandon Snyder; one sister, Denise M. Wilson and husband Randy; one brother, Edgar L. Hollen Jr. and wife Sandy, all of Cumberland; one brother-in-law, James E. Stevens, Laurel; one sister-in-law, Elayne Hollen, Burtonsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A rosary will be conducted Friday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.
At Mrs. Snyder's request, her body will be cremated.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Western Maryland Hospice Home Care of the Memorial Hospital Hospice.
EDWARD L. MARTIN SR.
MARIETTA, Ga. -- Edward Leroy Martin Sr., 75, of Marietta, Ga., died Wednesday, May 23, 2001.
A Johnstown, Pa., native, Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married
Mary Alice Hawks on June 28, 1948. She predeceased him on July 21, 1996, after 48 years of marriage. He later married
Barbara Eason. He had lived in Somerset, Pa., Cumberland, MD, Richmond Va., and Milwaukee, Wis. before moving to Marietta, Ga. 26 years ago. He was a chemist in the flexible packing materials industry, and had worked for Reynolds Metals Co. in Richmond, and Printpack Co. in Atlanta before founding his own company, ELMCO, Inc., in Marietta 10 years ago. He was a U.S. Patent Holder on a bar code quality control device.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Eason Martin, Marietta; three sons, Edward L. Martin Jr., Frank Martin, and Neale Martin, all of Marietta; one daughter, Beth Ranson of Danville, Va.; one brother, Jack B. Martin of Somerset, Pa.; nine grandchildren; one aunt, Billie Barmecky of Johnstown, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2001 at Sandy Springs Christian Church, 301 Johnson Ferry Road, Sandy Springs, Ga.

ISABEL A. MCDONOUGH
LONACONING -- Isabel Ann McDonough, 90, formerly of 43 Douglas Ave., Lonaconing, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at St. Vincent DePaul Nursing Home, Frostburg, where she had been a resident for a short period of time.
Born on July 27, 1910 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late John James and Estella Mae (Mackey) Phillips. Her husband, Patrick F. McDonough on July 28, 1967; a son, Richard F.; a son-in-law, George Duckworth; five sisters, Mae Robinson, Dorothy Steele, Marian Llewellyn, Eleanor Brodie and Jeanette Iser also preceded her in death.
Mrs. McDonough was a former employee of the Lonaconing Silk Mill and the Celanese Plant. She worked by her husband's side at their business, Patty's Lunch in Lonaconing and as the Dawn Bible Students Home in Rutherford, N.J. She was devoted to her family and bible studies. She was a member of the Dawn Bible Students and the George's Creek Senior Citizens. Her family and friends will sadly miss her love of life.
Surviving is a daughter, Lois Duckworth, with whom she resided; six grandchildren, Diane Foutz and husband Gene, Linda Myers and husband Randall, all of Barton, Sharon Martin and husband Ernie of Pittsville, Rick McDonough and wife Debbie of Moontownship, Pa., Mark McDonough of Alexandria, Va., and Missy McDonough of Barton; six great-grandchildren, Andrea Horner, Marcia Martin, Brandon Foutz, Ricky McDonough Jr., Ashley Myers, and Kari Myers; two great great-grandchildren, Clayton Horner, and Shyanne Foutz; one daughter-in-law, Sandra McDonough of Barton; two brothers, James Phillips and wife Ruth, and Walter Phillips all of Lonaconing; one sister, Betty Stevenson of Swanton; two sisters-in-laws, Rose Nolan of Lonaconing, and Nonnie Foley of Beaver, Pa.; three special nieces, Catherine Sowers of Rawlings, Frances Metz and husband Harold of Gaithersburg, and Marian Wilson and husband George of Lonaconing.
At Mrs. McDonough's request, her body was cremated.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing on Saturday, May 26, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Elder Randall Cramer officiating.
Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

LAVALE -- Friends for Sheridan T. "Tom" Dean will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.
The Masonic Lodge 211 will conduct their memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Following the Masonic Service, a memorial service will be conducted.
At. Mr. Dean's request his body has been donated to Medical Science.
WILLIAM H. FULLER SR.
FROSTBURG -- William Harry Fuller Sr., 78, of 66 S. Water St., Frostburg, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 23 in Oakland.
Born Aug. 12, 1922, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Jesse Connor and Etha (Walbert) Fuller.
Mr. Fuller was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ and was a World War II Army veteran. He was the fourth generation owner of Fuller Construction Company.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma (Close) Fuller; three daughters, Janice F. Byrnes, Cumberland, Jeanne F. Baker and husband Larry A., Rootstown, Ohio, and Judith L. McClurg and husband Edward, Oakland; two sons, William H, Fuller Jr. and wife Mary, Flintstone, and Bruce H, Fuller, Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Michelle Bisson, South Euclid, Ohio, Lisa Bachus, Akron, Ohio, Amy Brown, Frostburg, Greg Byrnes, Oakland, Kathleen Fuller, Flintstone, Rebecca Fuller, Flintstone, and Jessica McClurg, Oakland; and two great-grandchildren. Madison Bisson and Sophie Bisson.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A. 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William B. Shrout Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Brown, James Cummings, Lee Close, Henry Bounds, Greg Byrnes, and William Walbert.
