RUSSELL L. DECKER
CRESAPTOWN -- Russell L. "Russ" "Red" Decker, 81, of Cresaptown, died Wednesday, May 23 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 13, 1920 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frank and Idela (Browning) Decker.
Mr. Decker was employed at Lowe's. He was a member of Eckhart United Methodist Church. He was a Tech Sgt. Army veteran of World War II and a Lt. Col. of the Civil Air Patrol.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Platter) Decker; three sons, Dave Decker and wife Mai, Glen Burnie, Paul Michael Decker and wife Rebecca, Glen Burnie, and Richard Decker and wife Joyce, Westminister; one daughter, Donna Jene Durbin and husband Russell, Pasadena; three step children, Judy Ann Unger and husband Wayne, Mount Savage, Ronald F. Minnick, Mount Savage, and James Leroy Minnick and wife Pam, Taylorsville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; five step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine step brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Members of Farrady Post 24 Honor Guard will accord military honors at graveside.
B. ELAINE WELSH
FRIEDENS, Pa. -- B. Elaine Welsh, 78, of Friedens, Pa., died May 24, 2001, at Somerset Hospital.
Born Nov. 7, 1922 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Miller and Mabel A. Hay. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Lee Clinebell I, who died in 1962, and one sister, Edna Murphy.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fort Pierce, Fla., 1941 graduate of Fort Hill High School, in Cumberland. Member of OES in Cumberland. She owned and operated the Former Clinebell's Bakery in Cumberland from 1954-1989.
Survived by her husband, James Richard Welsh Sr., to whom married
34 years; children, Edward L. Clinebell II and wife Peggy of Wylie, Texas, James R. Welsh Jr. and wife Peggy of New Wilmington, the Rev. Jeffrey A. Welsh and wife Marsha of Scottsdale, C. William Welsh of Studio City, Calif., and Ms. Jayne Weister of Vandergrift; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001 at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, with the Rev. Jeffrey Welsh and the Rev. Joseph M. Beer officiating.
Interment will be in the Somerset County Memorial Park.

PEARL N. "MO" TAYLOR
CUMBERLAND -- Pearl N. "Mo" Taylor, 98, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord and join her devoted husband, Joe, on Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 23, 1903, in Mineral County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William A. and Agnes M. (Murphy) Riley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Taylor, 1980; one son, William F. Taylor, 1971l one brother, Lamon Riley, 1965; and one sister, Freda Flora Hyde, 1972.
Mrs. Taylor was former co-owner of Western Maryland Lumber and Supply Company. She was a former employee of Lazarus Clothing Store; Rosenbaum Department Store; and a war employee at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. She was a member of the Emmanuel-Bethel United Methodist Church, Cumberland Chapter 56 Order of the Eastern Star, Cumberland Senior Citizens, Bowling Green Homemakers Association and a former member of the Ladies of the Shrine. Her favorite hobby was baking. She enjoyed sharing her pies and cakes with all of her friends. Most of all "Mo" enjoyed being around people. Her love of life will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter, JoAnn Eckard and husband Jim, with whom she resided; three grandchildren, Mike Eckard and wife Terri, Camp Hill, Pa., Debra Gaither and husband John, Westminister, Pam Thornber and husband Ray, San Diego, Calif..; five great-grandchildren, Jim Eckard, Paige Eckard, Justin Thornber, Doug Thornber, and Katie Thornber; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Stokvis, Timonium; a special niece, Burndetta McKenzie and her son Robert, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Emmanuel-Bethel United Methodist Church on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mildred C. Martin and the Rev. Alva Tice officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
SANDRA K. WHITE
CUMBERLAND -- Sandra Kay White, 53, died in Phoenix, Ariz. on April 6, 2001, after a brief illness. She was born in Cumberland and is survived by her father and stepmother, Kenneth and Billie White of Washington, Iowa.
Her mother, Fanny Wilson White, and her sister, Sharon White Kish, preceded her in death. Ms. White was the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Frank M. Wilson of Cumberland. She was a graduate of the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing, Boston.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on May 29 at 11 a.m.
MARY C. ROSENMARKLE
CUMBERLAND -- Mary Catherine "MC" Rosenmarkle, 85, died peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2001, at home.
Born in Cumberland, to Luis and Mary Lippold, she moved to Alexandria, Va., in 1959, to San Diego in 1974, and to Corona, Calif., in 1994.
She was married
for 58 years to Nelson Rosenmarkle, deceased in 1996, and had three sons and a daughter. She is retired from Am. Nat'l Red Cross in Alexandria, and Home Fed. S&L in San Diego.
She is survived by one son, Michael of Durham, N.C., and daughter, Mary Ann Baker of Corona, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held to celebrate her life on earth and her assent into God's kingdom at Crossroads Church in Corona on May 29th at 2:30 p.m.
GERALD L. YOUNG
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- Gerald L. Young, 73, of Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of Barton, Md., died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Fountain Valley.
Born on April 9, 1928, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Oliver Lee and Pearl (Kirk) Young. Mr. Young served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, worked at Glen L. Martin Aircraft, Baltimore, Md., Hughes Aircraft, Long Beach, and retired in 1990 from Eugene Sand and Gravel in Eugene, OR.
Surviving are a daughter, Lea Ann Rasmussen and husband Don, Huntington Beach; a son, Terry Young and wife Laura, Capristrano Beach; a granddaughter, Michelle Faubion, Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Peggy Miller, Barton; and brothers, Butch Young and wife Barbara, Linthicum, Md., and Daniel Young and wife Susie, Midland, Md.
At Mr. Young's request, his body was cremated.
A private family service will be held at a later date and his earthly remains will be interred at Laurel Hills Cemetery, Moscow, Md.
EMMA G. WARNER
CUMBERLAND -- Emma G. Warner, 90, of Allegany County Nursing Home, formerly of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at the nursing home.
Born June 24, 1910 in Greenridge, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Ida B. (Snyder) Keefer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Patrick G. Warner; two daughters, Gertrude Fernihough, and Jeannette L. Meagher; one son, Donald P. Warner; five sisters, Katherine Edwards, Mary America, Genevieve Keffer, Rose Keffer, and Annabelle Hartell.
Mrs. Warner was a cook at Ferdinand's and Mary Sperio's Restaurant. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Helena Latham, Cumberland, Roslie McAteer, Frostburg, Patricia Silvious; one son James B. Warner, Bedford Road; one sister, Melissa Hartell, Williams Road, all of Cumberland; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.P. Warner, Clifford Silvious, Clifton Silvious, Roger Groves, and Michael Groves.
