RUBY M. BROTHERTON
MAYSVILLE, W.Va. -- Ruby M. Feaster Brotherton, 82, of Maysville, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, where she had resided since Feb. 2, 1997.
Born on Feb. 14, 1919, in Jordan Run, she was the daughter of the late Adam H. and Diana (Goldizen) Evans. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Glenvil Charles Feaster in 1977; an infant son; two brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Brotherton was a member of Cabins Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her husband, Roscoe R. Brotherton, who is a resident of Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg; one son, Tommie A. Feaster and wife Betty of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Debra K. Cunningham of Petersburg, Rickie A. Feaster of Petersburg, and Vickie Lambert of Maysville; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Cabins Assembly of God Church, Cabins, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Landis and the Rev. Joseph Eversole officiating.
Burial will be held at South Branch Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.
THELMA M. HEWITT
CUMBERLAND -- Thelma May Hewitt, 101, formerly of 509 Franklin St., Cumberland, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Hillhaven Nursing Home, College Park.
Born on Oct. 16, 1899, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Wheeler Davis and Violet (Hite) Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Hewitt in 1992.
Mrs. Hewitt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and McKinley Chapter #12 O.E.S., Ladies of the Shrine, Ladies Auxiliary of the Young Men's Christian Association.
She is survived by a daughter, Eulalia Conrad, College Park; a son, William Hewitt and wife Eileen, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Carol Schall, Leesburg, Fla., Dennis Hewitt, Severna Park, and John Conrad, Overland Park, Kan.; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 12 noon at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. John J. Duffus officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
MARY E. HOFF
FRIENDSVILLE -- Mary Evelyn Hoff, 89, of 106 Bear Creek Court, Friendsville, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at her residence.
Born on Oct. 27, 1911, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Kate (Fearer) Frazee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oakey Hoff on Dec. 29, 1980; and one daughter, Martha Bishoff on Sept. 1, 1982.
Mrs. Hoff was a member of Asher Glade Church of the Brethren and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlene Carr, Friendsville; one brother, Glenn Frazee, Friendsville; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sand Spring Church of God with the Rev. Nevin Umbel officiating.
Interment will be in Asher Glade Cemetery.

JAMES B. VANMETER SR.
FAIRGO -- James B. VanMeter Sr., 61, of Fairgo, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, Pa.
Born July 7, 1939, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Norman Ray and Belva (Crothers) VanMeter. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Zembower, Geraldine Herrera, and Shirley Krause.
Mr. VanMeter worked as a printer for the Times-News for 45 years. He was a graduate of Allegany High School. Protestant by faith, Mr. VanMeter was a lifetime member of the Outdoor Club, a member of the Cresaptown Eagles, Cresaptown Eagles Sportsman Club, Communications Workers of America and the Cumberland Typographical Union Local 244. He was an avid hunter, Nascar fan, fisherman, and loved horse racing, and football.
Mr. VanMeter loved life, his family, grandkids, and his friends, and they all loved him in return.
Surviving are his wife, Ida Mae (Cameron) VanMeter; three sons, James B. VanMeter Jr. and wife Debbie, Winchester, Va., William L. VanMeter and wife Tina, Cumberland, and Michael L. VanMeter and wife Tanya, Cumberland; two brothers, Milton Leroy VanMeter, Cumberland, and William Ray VanMeter, Cumberland; three sisters, Mary Louise Houdersheldt, Wiley Ford, W.Va., his twin sister, Joan Weatherholt, Cumberland, and Linda Meanyhan, Daytona Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Shaun VanMeter, Jamie VanMeter, Justin VanMeter, Kristina VanMeter, William VanMeter Jr., Matthew Dunnington, and Destiny VanMeter; his mother-in-law, Sara Mae Cameron, Cumberland; and special friend, Ed Reynolds, inseparable like a brother.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Gulbronson officiating.
Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.
Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
Pallbearers will be Steve Stouffer, Davy Martin, Paul Siefers, Mike Sawyers, Bill George, and Jan Alderton.
PRISCILLA AMELIA JUNKINS
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. -- Pricilla Amelia Junkins, 85, died Friday, May 18, 2001, in the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland.
Born May 25, 1915, in Mount Storm, she was a daughter of the late Milford and Bly (Idleman) Kuhn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence G. Junkins, four brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Milford Junkins and wife Shirley, and James L. Junkins, both of Mount Storm; a daughter, Dorene Kitzmiller of Mount Storm; two brothers, Dwight Kuhn of Baltimore, and John Kuhn of Petersburg; one sister, Shirley Anthony of Mount Storm; ten grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
At Mrs. Junkins request, her body was cremated.
Memorial services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the David A. Burdock Funeral Home with the Rev. William Anderson officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.
CHARLES "CHARLIE' K. BULLETT
CUMBERLAND -- Charles "Charlie" K. Bullett, of 767 Maryland Ave., died May 19, 2001, at his home.
Born April 28, 1945 in Frostburg, he was the so of the late Georgie R. Bullett.
Throughout Charlie's travels in life he held many jobs, but made Cumberland his home in 1994. Charlie attended Cumberland Adult daycare on Furnace Street, and was a member of Archway Station Inc. He was under the care of Home Hospice. He was a very proud person, who always wanted to do things independently. He was admired for his determination and love of life. Charlie will be misses by those who loved and cared for him, especially his family.
Surviving are one brother, Gerald Bullett; four sisters, Angelina Willis and husband Rolland Willis, Mary Rhodes and husband R. Cliffton Rhodes, Lois Twyman and husband Raymond Twyman, and Linda Bullett, all of Cumberland; one daughter, Loretta Bullett; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Friendship Haven Church, 248 Williams St., Cumberland, on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at 1 p.m.
