PAULINE S. SKIPPER
Pauline S. Skipper, 78, Smithfield, N.C., formerly of Oakland, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at the Johnston County Memorial Hospital, Smithfield.
Born Aug. 7, 1920, in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Eleanor M. (Trout) Mayle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A. Weaver Skipper, in 1988.
She was a member of the Rocky Drean Assembly of God Church, Oakland.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra L. Glass, Gaithersburg; two sons, Terry A. Skipper, Charlotte, N.C., and Gary L. Skipper, Selma, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sat urday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in the Friend Cemetery, Oakland.
LURA A. CALCAMP
Lura Agnes (Harsh) Calcamp, 95, Horse Shoe Run, W.Va., and more re cently a resident of the Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born June 23, 1904, in Horse Shoe Run, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Stephen and Daisy Cora (Sell) Harsh. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gus L. Calcamp. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and well known throughout her community for the quilts she created. She was affiliated with the Methodist church and was a former member of the Farm Women’s Club.
Survivors include five sons, Wayne Calcamp, Mag odore, Ohio, and Lawrence Calcamp, John Calcamp, Donald Calcamp, and Cecil Calcamp, all of Horse Shoe Run; four daughters, Lela Slaubaugh and Juanita Stemple, both of Horse Shoe Run, Delores Kelley, Leadmine, W.Va., and Vir ginia J. Roth, Thomas; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va., where a ser vice was conducted Tuesday, Aug. 3, with the Rev. Rogers Fike and the Rev. Dave Parker officiating. Interment followed in the Accident Cemetery, Horse Shoe Run.
LINDA L. THORNTON
Linda L. (Pratt) Thornton, 41, Baltimore and Gar rett County, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 22, 1957, in Baltimore, she was a daughter of Goldie M. (Wilson) Pratt, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the late Richard A. Pratt.
She had been a photo grapher most of her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Clifton E. Thorn ton Sr.; one son, Clifton E. Thornton Jr., Gaithersburg; one daughter, Hannah M. Thornton, Gaithersburg; her stepfather, John F. O’Donnell, Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Robert A. Pratt, Finksburg, and Ronald A. Pratt, Hanover, Pa.; and two sisters, Marcia L. Ruby, Hampstead, and Joyce L. Michael, Westminster.
Friends were received at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, Sykesville, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Aug. 4. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville.
WILLIAM R. PETERSON
William Richard Peterson, 70, McHenry, died Fri day, July 30, 1999, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born May 14, 1929, in Oakhill, Pa., he was a son of the late Joseph and Ida (Nuckols) Peterson Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Peterson.
He was retired president of Teamsters Local No. 453, Cumberland, and was a re tired member of the Health and Welfare Fund and Joint Council No. 40. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Deep Creek Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen V. (Bevan) Peterson; three daughters, Sharon L. Glotfelty, Grantsville, Sheri Y. Paugh, Oakland, and Kathleen V. Seaman, McHenry; one brother, Charles H. Peterson, Clifton Forge, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, where a service was conducted Monday, Aug. 2, with the Rev. Samuel Wachter officiating. Cremation followed.

DORIS J. GROVES
Doris Jean Groves, 61, Mtn. Lake Park, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Nov. 25, 1937, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Nellie (Adams) Waugh.
Survivors include her husband, Robert B. Groves; one daughter, Linda L. Mattingly, Loveville; two sons, T. Shawn Groves, Mooresville, N.C., and R. Scott Groves, Mtn. Lake Park; three brothers, Dodson Waugh, Berkeley Springs, Donald Waugh, Charles Town, W.Va., and Charles Waugh, Berkeley Springs; one sister, Caroline Gibson, Crellin; and five grandchildren.

MARVIN P. WARNICK
Marvin Paul Warnick, 75, Laytonsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney, following a brief illness.
Born June 14, 1924, in Westernport, he was a son of the late William Clay and Julia Ellen (Lee) Warnick. He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
He was a 1942 graduate of Barton High School. He served with the U.S. Army in the United States and Europe during World War II. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Baltimore, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1950 until 1976, and later worked with his family in the construction business. Along with his wife and son, he published volumes of family histories about the Warnick, Lee, Wilt, and Fazenbaker families.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Freda Mae (Wilt) Warnick; one son, Walter L. Warnick, Laytonsville; one sister, Eleanor Wolfe, Livonia, Mich.; and two granddaughters.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Bittinger Cemetery.
CREETY I. WOLFE
Creety Irene Wolfe, 73, formerly of Oakland, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at the Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton.
Born July 28, 1926, in Denning, Ark., she was the daughter of the late John Julian and Buena (Robinson) Holt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Wolfe; three brothers; and three sisters.
She worked as a practical nurse at the Cuppett Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland, and later was employed by the Queen Anne’s County Office on Aging, until her retirement in 1997. She and her late husband were former owner/operators of the Red House Grocery. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Oakland.
Surviving are one daughter, Evelyn B. Strawser, Stevensville, and one grandson.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of the service, with the Rev. Chuck Braband officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
RUTH A. CAMPBELL
Ruth A. Campbell, 75, Oakland, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 5, 1923, in Oakland, she was a daughter of the late Owen U. and Leola (Schlossnagle) Martin.
She was a member of the Loch Lynn United Brethren in Christ Church and attended the Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Walter F. Campbell; two daughters, Carole Jean Forman, Folkston, Ga., and Katherine L. Schenk, Oakland; four brothers, Charles 'June' Martin, Loch Lynn, Kenneth R. Martin, Mtn. Lake Park, Billy R. Martin, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Harry L. Martin, Oakland; two sisters, Hazel M. Kelley, Uniontown, Pa., and Gladys E. Warnick, Cresaptown; and one granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

EDNA L. WRIGHT
Edna Leona Wright, 78, Salisbury, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at the Meyersdale (Pa.) Medical Center.
Born May 9, 1921, in Greenville Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah (Baker) Baer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wright, in 1966, and a brother, Clarence Baer.
She was a member of the Greenville Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women. She was a retired presser/folder for Meyersdale Manufacturing.
Survivors include one son, William Wright, Salisbury; one daughter, Donna Mort, Salisbury; one brother, Carl Baer, Eckhart; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A service was conducted at the Greenville Lutheran Church earlier today, Aug. 5, with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery.

JOSEPH C. RESH
Joseph Cortez Resh, 91, Grantsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Aug. 23, 1907, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Simon and Harriet (Wiley) Resh. He was also preceded in death by one son, Buford Resh, and two daughters, Phyllis M. Buckel and Wilma Resh.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Jennings, and was a retired heavy equipment operator for Harbison-Walker Refractories, Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife, Ruthella Jane (Swauger) Resh; one son, Roger C. Resh, Grantsville; one daughter, Rita J. Ross, Tavares, Fla.; one brother, Lersey Resh, Uniontown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m., with Vicar Doug Knupp officiating. Interment will follow in the Grantsville Cemetery.

KATHY A. WILEY
Kathy Ann Wiley, 43, McHenry, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at her home.
Born Nov. 4, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ruth (Savage) Enlow, McHenry, and the late Robert Enlow. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Savage.
She was a school bus operator for the Garrett County Board of Education and attended the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the American Quarterhorse Association.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Stephen R. Wiley; two daughters, Christina Jones, McHenry, and Tricia Wiley, at home; two brothers, Curtis Friend, Deer Park, and Ronald Humbert, Markleysburg, Pa.; and one granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry. A service was conducted at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren on Saturday, Sept. 25, with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
