ROBERT C. LOGSDON
KEYSER -- Robert C. Logsdon, 78, of Rt. 5 Box 507, Keyser, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born on Jan. 24, 1923 at Keyser, he was the son of the late Samuel Lee and Maude Ellen (Broome) Logsdon.
Mr. Logsdon was retired as a carman and inspector with the B & O Railroad with 10 years of service. He was a member of the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church where he was also active with "Seniors on the Move". A 1941 graduate of Keyser High School, he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war in Romania. He was also a member of the Boyce-Houser Post 41, American Legion, Keyser.
Surviving his is wife of 55 years, Grace (Haslebacher) Logsdon, one brother; Charles Lee Logsdon and wife Betty (Taylor), Keyser, one niece; Linda S. Stark and husband Jerry, Keyser, one nephew; Jeffrey Lee Logsdon and wife Ena, Keyser, two grandnephews; Josh Stark and Tyler Logsdon, three grandnieces; Jaime Wade, Kylie and Cortney Logsdon.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Dean and Pastor Lee Ream officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Fort Ashby Cemetery, Fort Ashby.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church Building Fund, Rt. 6, Box 6310, Keyser, WV 26726.
NATHANIEL A. LOGSDON
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. -- Nathaniel Alan Logsdon, 3, of Fort Ashby, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 25, 1997, in Morgantown, he was the son of Alan T. and Becky G. (Peer) Logsdon.
Nathaniel was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He attended pre-school at the Romney School for the Deaf.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Loni G. Peer and David O. Peer, Ridgeley; his paternal grandparents Gary B. Logsdon and Carol J. Logsdon, Fort Ashby; maternal great-grandparents, Richard and Faith Bible, Flintstone, and Robert and Ruth Peer, Ridgeley; uncles and aunts, Jeff and Angie Logsdon, Tom and Jennifer Logsdon and Cheryl Amoroso, all of Fort Ashby; and godparents, Dana and Craig Norris, Mount Savage. Nathaniel was also blessed with loving great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and special friends.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from the Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Long, Daniel Bible, Jeffrey Geiger and Andy Logsdon.

HUBERT L. COLEMAN
RIDGELEY, W.Va. -- Hubert L. Coleman, 75, of Ridgeley, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born June 10, 1925, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Lewis and Lela (Crowe) Coleman. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Coleman Miller, and one sister Iona Durst.
Mr. Coleman was retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren and an employee of Ace's Used Car Lot, Short Gap. His hobbies were attending car auctions and flea markets.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Lula G. (Weaver) Coleman; one son, Lonnie S. Coleman and wife Karen, Keyser; one brother, Ronald Coleman and wife Rayetta, Hagerstown; and three grandsons, Gregory Miller, Sherman's Dale, Pa., Jesse Coleman and Daniel Coleman, both of Keyser.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Heisey and Pastor Eric Hooks officiating. Friends will also received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be John Clites, John Clites Jr., Dale Weaver , Owen Barncord, Bill Lawson and Dustin Hooks.
EVA R. SWAIN
CUMBERLAND -- Eva Rebbeca Swain, 99, of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home, Frostburg, formerly of Kentucky Avenue, Cumberland, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1901, in Artemas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Moses True. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Olvie Swain; three sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Swain was a homemaker and attended the Bedford Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Donald F. Swain and wife Doris Lee, Potomac Park, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Gregory Swain, Florida, Harry Swain Jr., Washington, D.C., and Jack Swain, Texas.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Benny R. Brakeall officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
EVELYN B. HEAVNER
CUMBERLAND -- Evelyn B. Heavner, 92, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of Flintstone, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 13, 1908, in Piney Plains, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Swain) Trail. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Justin H. Heavner, in 1983; four brothers, John, William, Herbert and Glenn Trail; and two sisters, Ruth Weight and Mary Rowe.
Mrs. Heavner was a homemaker. She was a member of Murley's Branch Methodist Chuch and a former member of the Pleasant Valley Homemakers Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Catherine M. Deremer and husband Robert, Flintsone, Louise Geiman, Westminister, Naomi Simmons and husband Richard, Westmimister; four sons, Robert L. Heavner and wife Twila, William H. Heavner and wife Ramona, Franklin J. Heavner and wife Eleanor, all of Flintstone, and Perry J. Heavner and wife Donna, Carlisle, Pa.; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grand-children; and two great-great-grandchildren.
