MARY (WILLIAMS) ARNOLD
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. -- Mary (Williams) Arnold, 49, of Harpers Ferry, and formerly of Cumberland, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Nov. 8, 1951, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Carl Elwood Williams, Cumberland and the late Catherine Williams.
Mrs. Arnold had been employed as a secretary in the research industry. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1969. In 1975 she was a graduate of Allegany College in the Dental Assisting program and a graduate of Shepherd College class of 1998. She was associated with Wycliffe Bible Translators and a very active member of Oakland United Methodist Church, in Charles Town, W.Va.
Surviving besides her father are her husband, Thomas Neal Arnold; two daughters, Beth Monique Eckard and husband Randy, Bedford, Pa., and Laryn M. Pratt and husband Bill, Walkersville, Md.; a son, Travis Edward Robinette, Fort Riley, Kan.; a step-daughter, Niki Powers, Virginia; two half brothers; Allen and Gordon Winebrenner, both of Cumberland; two grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 26 Oakland Terrace, Charles Town, on Thursday 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Charles Town, on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kent Tice and the Rev. Joanne Alexander officiating.
Friends will be received at the Livingstone Church of the Brethren, Second and Cedar streets, Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Livingstone Church of the Brethren, Cumberland, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Hollis officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park, Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church, 26 Oakland Terrace, Charles Town, WV 25414, or the Union Rescue Mission, Cumberland.
Arrangements were made by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town and the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home P.A., in Cumberland.

LAVALE -- J. Galen Metzger, 78, of LaVale, died at his home on Monday, April 30, 2001.
Friends may visit the family at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the LaVale United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 3, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross and the Rev. Lawrence Neumark officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Baltimore Pike.
Memorials may be made in Galen's memory to the WMHS Hospice Home Care, 900 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502, or to the LaVale Rescue Squad, 977 National Hwy., LaVale, MD 21502.
Pallbearers will be Brian Potter, grandson, Steven Potter, grandson, Daniel Metzger, grandson, Doug Schmidt, Bruce Douglas and Charles F. Schelble.
ELIZABETH E. BOGGESS
LAVALE -- Elizabeth Elinor Boggess, 80, of 735 LaVale Terrace, LaVale, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 5, 1920, in Allegany County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Aldrige and Annie (Hunter) Aldrige. She was also preceded by a brother, Louis Aldrige and a sister, Bertha Wade.
Mrs. Boggess was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Mount Savage and a member of the Women of St. George.
She is survived by her husband, Lawerence C. Boggess, LaVale; a son, Jan L. Boggess and wife Bettianne, Blue Bell, Pa.; a sister, Margaret E. Wade, Mount Savage; and a granddaughter, Tracie Gaye Boggess, Blue Bell, Pa.
Friends wil be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. George's Episcopal Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rector Ian Thomson and Emeritus Harold Bishop as co-celebrants.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
CARRIE M. WEIMER
CRESAPTOWN -- Carrie Marie Weimer of Cresaptown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born in Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James R. and Myrtle (Brotemarkle) Robinette. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Nina Adkins; and one brother, Harold Robinette.
Mrs. Weimer was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Community Church, Cumberland. She was also an avid bowler.
Surviving are her husband, Richard A. Weimer; two daughters, M. Sue Spence and husband William, Hiram, Ohio, and Jeanne L. Courtney and husband Craig, Cumberland; one son, Richard A. Weimer Jr. and wife Kathy, Cresaptown; one sister, Arbutus Shaw, Colville, Wash.; one brother, Kenneth Robinette, LaVale; eight grandchildren, Brian Spence, Erica Weimer, Darcy Walton, Daniel Kimble, Amanda Kimble, Jennifer Courtney, Laura Courtney and Kelly Courtney; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Walton and Evan Walton.
At Mrs. Weimer's request, her body will be cremated at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Crematorium.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
MIRIAM L. WAYBRIGHT
BEDFORD, Pa. -- Miriam L. Waybright, 73, of 152 St. Clair Drive-Osterburg, died at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home, Bedford.
Born in Elk Garden, W.Va., on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Cora (Lyon) Stullenbarger. She was a housewife.
She was the widow of Elliott E. Waybright, who she married
on May 6, 1944, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1978.
She is survived by her son, Arthur E. "Gene" husband of Karen (Claycomb) Waybright, Osterburg; daughter, June wife of Kenneth A. Schwirian, Osterburg; daughter, Dee Waybright, Osterburg; son, James H. Waybright, Osterburg; son, Kenneth S. Waybright, Osterburg. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Reginald Stullenbarger.
Funeral services will be held at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Charles Rhodes officiating.
Interment will be in Osterburg Community Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
PHYLLIS V. WEAVER
DUBLIN, Ohio -- Phyllis V. Livengood Weaver of Dublin, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Kobacker House in Columbus.
Phyllis was the daughter of the late Melvin and Cora (Beal) Livengood. She was the widow of Richard K. Weaver, who died in 1997.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Michael Finney; grandson and namesake, Richard Finney, all of Hilliard; sister, Doris (Harry) Whetstone of Florida. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Reese.
She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, Columbus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 900 Michigan Ave., Columbus, OH 43215, in her memory. Arrangements are by the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio.
