CENTREVILLE, Pa. -- Anastasia Nichole Elliott, five months, beloved daughter and granddaughter, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2001, at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born on Nov. 28, 2000, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of Bryan Christopher Elliott, Centreville, and the late Brandy Louise Davis.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Roger and Debra Elliott, Centreville, and Bonnie Jean Elliott, Centreville; maternal grandparents, John and Rose (Davis) Davidson, Cresaptown; maternal great-grandparents, Kathleen Davis and Bill Fink, Greenspring, W.Va., George and Carol Davis, Jr., Cresaptown, and Bertha Davidson, Cumberland; uncles and aunts, William Donald Elliott and wife Amy, Flintstone, Md., Stephen Roger Elliott and wife Regina, Easton, Bobby Sue Davis, Amanda Davidson and John Davidson Jr., all of Cresaptown, Md.; and four cousins, Joshua, Kylie, Madison and Colin Elliott; God parents, Edward and Jessica Emrick; and special friends, Steve Zembower, Shawn Richardson, Jamie Growden, Tanner Defenbaugh and Amber Boore.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Dill and the Rev. Charles Leger officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
CHARLES W. KREITZBURG
CUMBERLAND -- Charles William "Whip" Kreitzburg, 81, of Cumberland, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at his home.
Born on Dec. 10, 1910, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jeannie M. (Brailer) Kreitzburg. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret C. (Lancaster) Kreitzburg; two brothers, Thomas J. and John G. Kreitzburg; three sisters, Frances E. Mouse, Mary Beaman and Emma Kreitzburg; and two nephews, Francis Mouse and John Sweitzer.
Mr. Kreitzburg was the manager of the Sporting Goods Department at Wilson Hardware. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a Staff Sergeant in both the European and Pacific Theatres of Operation. He was the first man believed to have been demobilized from the 86th Infantry Division. A graduate of Allegany High School Class of 1939, he was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mr. Kreitzburg was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cumberland Council #586, BPO Elks #63, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #245. A life member of the Lonaconing Republican Club, he was the only living charter member of the Dapper Dan Club. As a member of the Dapper Dan Club, he had served as past president.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, Mr. Kreitzburg is survived by a sister-in-law, Sara Rank and husband Paul, Cumberland; two nephews, Paul Mouse and wife Ann, Cumberland, and Joseph Sweitzer, Virginia; one niece, Staci Rank, Cumberland; three great-nephews, Delmar Mouse and Francis Mouse, both of Cumberland, and Timothy Mouse, Florida; one great-niece, Sharon Mouse, Cumberland; and two nieces-in-law, Margie Mouse and Shirley Sweitzer, both of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 9 p.m.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
LEANNA L. LAYMAN
FROSTBURG -- Leanna Louise Layman, 95, of 17916 National Pike, Frostburg (Garrett County), died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. She had been a resident of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.
Born on Jan. 17, 1906, in Longstretch, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Naomi (Otto) Layman. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Clara Layman.
Miss Layman was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was the retired cafeteria manager for Route 40 School. She was also a member of the Grantsville Senior Citizens, Northern Garrett County Republican Women's Club and the former Route 40 Homemakers Club.
She is survived by one sister, Zeola L. Robeson, Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Mount Zion United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Lightner and the Rev. Warren Friend officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glyn Geis, Ed Geis, Wes Lashbaugh, James Carey, Charles Ross and John Rowe.

REV. JOSEPH A. HARRISON JR.
GALAX, Va. -- The Rev. Joseph Auld Harrison Jr., 70, of Galax, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at his residence.
Born on Sept. 9, 1930, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Duvall) Harrison. He was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen Joseph Harrison.
The Rev. Harrison was a Pentecostal Holiness Minister for 50 years, where he pastored in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He graduated from Life Bible College in Los Angeles, Calif., and received his B.A. from Southwestern Bible College in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic Conference for four years and secretary-treasurer of the Pentecostal Conference Youth Ministries. His first church was in Cumberland, where he met his wife of 48 years. His last pastorate was at Austinville Pentecostal Holiness Church for six years. He was a songwriter, pianist and organist. Many of his songs were published.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Helen (Lamp) Harrison; a sister, Virginia Perry, Cape Girardeau, Md.; a brother-in-law, Norman L. Lamp and wife Ruth, Flintstone, Md.; a sister-in-law, Naomi J. Oliver, Cumberland; a special cousin, Ida M. Casteel and husband the Rev. Rodney Casteel, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Cumberland Pentecostal Holiness Church, Fayette Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rodney L. Casteel, the Rev. Wesley Russ and the Rev. Andrew Farina officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

ELEANOR M. LOWNDES
BALTIMORE -- Eleanor M. Lowndes, formerly of Cumberland, died Dec. 9, 2000.
She was the beloved wife of the late Bladen Lowndes Jr.; devoted daughter of the late Marion P. and Eleanor Dorsey Macgill of Howard County; devoted stepmother of Clarke Lowndes Smart, Randall Lowndes Bryson and W. Bladen Lowndes III.
Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Cumberland, on Tuesday, April 24, at 12 noon.

CALVIN T. GRAY
MIDLAND -- Calvin Thomas "Tom Cat" Gray, 61, of 14833 Back St., Midland, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born at Midland, on Aug. 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank and Isabel (Lucas) Gray. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Delano Gray.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Jane Lloyd, Orange, Va.; one brother, Frank Gray, Midland; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gray was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland.
