HELEN M. WILNER
LAVALE -- Helen M. Wilner, 79, of LaVale, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
Mrs. Wilner was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Bethesda, daughter of the late Adolph and Minnie (Shapiro) Hohouser. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry S. Hohouser on Nov. 5, 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Jaye Addison Fink and husband, Jeff, of Holidaysburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Shipley, Portage, Pa., and Erica Keim of Holidaysburg and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Graveside services will be held in King David Cemetery, Falls Church, Va., on Friday, April 20, at 1 p.m. with Marvin Burnstein officiating. Interment will follow.

GALEN C. MCGREGOR
CUMBERLAND -- Galen Charles McGregor, 62, of Cumberland, went home to be with His Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 21, 1938, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James D. and Emma Mae (Meagher) McGregor.
Mr. McGregor was a 1956 graduate of Fort Hill High School where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football. He was also active in Rec League sports and Penn Mar League baseball.
He was a previous employee of the Celanese Corporation and Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. Mr. McGregor was retired from the CSX Railwelding and Tie Plant, where he was the supervisor.
After retiring from the railroad, Mr. McGregor owned and operated South Cumberland Used Appliances on Virginia Avenue.
He was an active member of the Lighthouse of Hope Assembly of God Church, Cumberland, where his son is the pastor.
Galen was a devoted husband, father and "Pap." He loved His Lord, his church and family with all of his heart. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ina Rae (Appel) McGregor; one son, Pastor Timothy McGregor and wife, Trina, Cumberland; two daughters, Tammy Nau, and husband, Mike, Cumberland; Tracey Wharton and husband, Tim, LaVale. He is also survived by three brothers, James McGregor and wife, Juanita, Lakeland, Fla.; Paul McGregor and wife, Mary Louise, LaVale; George McGregor and wife, Shirley, Cumberland; and one sister, Janet Nixon, Cumberland. Galen also had seven grandchildren, Savannah and Devin McGregor, Michael Jr. and Amanda Nau and Tyler, Dustin and Brooke Wharton.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from The Lighthouse of Hope Assembly of God Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jim McGregor, Paul McGregor, George McGregor, Harold Appel, Leo Appel and George Appel.

GERALD ORNDORFF
ROMNEY, W.Va. -- Gerald Orndorff, 95, of 140 N. Bolton St., Romney, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at Romney Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 20, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Dr. John Franklin officiating.
Mr. Orndorff was born on May 3,1905, in Toms Brook, Va., eldest son of the late Conard and Maude Will Orndorff. He was retired from the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman's Union and had been a member of the Romney Presbyterian Church for 28 years. He was an active volunteer for many years in various community organizations. He was the husband of the late Irene Keller Orndorff, who preceded him in death on June 28, 1988. He was also preceded in death by infant children, Richard and Louise.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty O. Pittman, Lancaster, Va., and Carol A. Kirkpatrick, Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren, Harrison Pittman, Newport News, Va., Lucinda Pittman, Richmond, Va., Bryan Kirkpatrick, Romney, and Rebecca Kirkpatrick, Chicago; and two great-grandchildren, Hillary and Alexander Pittman.
A private graveside service was conducted on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at St. John's Cemetery, Toms Brook, Va.

THRESA G. PLUMMER-CHEEK
CUMBERLAND -- Friends will be received for Thresa G. Plummer-Cheek at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at First Assembly of God, 23 Elder St., Cumberland, on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rodney Casteel and Pastor Orville K. Thomas officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Zion Reformed Church Cemetery, Cumberland.
JOHN W. SELSEK
BAYARD, W.Va. -- John Walter Selsek, 59, of Bayard, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born on March 12, 1942, in Henry, and was a son of the late John F. Selsek and Willia (Rotruck) Selsek. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Franklin H. Selsek in 1984.
Mr. Selsek was a 1960 graduate of Bayard High School, where he was active in sports and earned the WV Golden Horse Shoe Award. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a dedicated and respected employee of Dominion Generation at the Mt. Storm Power Station for 34 years. During his career, he held various positions including Journeyman Welder, and retired as a CBM Equipment Specialist on July 1, 2000.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Witt) Selsek, whom he married
on June 18, 1983. Also surviving are one brother, James A. Collette and his wife Dixie; one nephew, Scott A. Collette and wife Emily; and one niece, Kelly S. Collette, all of Mt. Storm; one great-nephew; two great-nieces; and many caring friends.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home in Oakland, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery.
WILLARD H. CARTWRIGHT SR.
OLDTOWN -- Willard "Hoss" Harvey Cartwright Sr., 71, of Oldtown, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at his residence.
Born on March 16, 1930, in Oldtown, he was the son of the late Levi Hanley and Corlin Lula (Gross) Cartwright. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Helena Petenbrink; one grandson, David Aaron Sears; and four brothers, Charles, Edward, James and twin, Millard Cartwright.
Mr. Cartwright was retired from the B&O Railroad, where he had been a machinist helper. He was a member of Oldtown Bapist Church. Mr. Cartwright had been a member of Lodge #40, F.O.P., for 24 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie (Marine) Cartwright; three sons, Willard Cartwright Jr., Oldtown, William Levi Cartwright, Cumberland, and Gilbert Lee Cartwright, Leesburg, Fla.; three daughters, Brenda Faye Sears, Cumberland, Corlin Elaine Herndon, Oldtown, and Terry Lynn Robey, Spring Gap; two sisters, Loretta Pearl Kline, Cumberland Nursing Home, and Carrie Regina Taylor, Laurel, Del.; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Cartwright, Covington, Va., and Goldie Eva Cartwright, Oldtown; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joseph DiNicola officiating.
Interment will be in the Oldtown Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Weigle, Dave Matthews, Jim Hindle, John Leasure, Jim Lough, and Mike Wagner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Piper and Leroy Robertson.
