BEATRICE V. WORMACK
CUMBERLAND -- Beatrice Virginia Wormack, 82, of 413 Central Ave., Cumberland, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Nov. 18, 1918, in Williamsport, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. Kent and Mahalia (Clifford) Kent. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John W. Wormack Sr. in 1993; a son, Airman First Class, Jerry W. Wormack in 1967; and a son-in-law, Robert Darden in 1995.
Mrs. Wormack was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a very active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for over 60 years, a pianist for many years, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross, HRDC, and at Memorial Hospital.
Mom was able to live these past 82 years to the fullest because she believed in her favorite scripture, which says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
"Ms. Beatty" loved everyone that she met, and affected every life she touched.
She is survived by two sons, John W. Wormack Jr. and wife Janet, Olney, and James "Jimmy" W. Wormack and wife Kimberly, LaVale; three daughters, LeeRetta Wormack, East Orange, N.J., Shirley Darden-Warmack, Cumberland, Joyce E. Wormack, Cumberland; a sister, Mary E. Stewart, Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Leona Wormack, Cumberland; eight grandchildren, Keith, Karen, Pamela, Jason, Rebekah, Leah, Rachel, Micah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Lee McIntyre Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 861 Columbia Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.

HARRY T. FETZER
CUMBERLAND -- Harry T. Fetzer, 82, of Cumberland, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Christiansburg, Va.
Born on Jan. 9, 1919, in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late Henry Thomas and Elizabeth (Bailey) Fetzer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ione Mae Fetzer on Nov. 12, 1996.
Mr. Fetzer retired in 1980 as an employee for the City of Cumberland Parks and Recreation Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and served in Company D, 331st Infantry, 83rd Thunderbolt Division. He was a member of the Oldtown VFW, the Mall Walkers Club and a charter member of Volunteers in the Park Program. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, who enjoyed float fishing trips.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra D. Shank and husband Alan, Uniontown, Ohio, Pamela A. Thurlow and husband Mark, Christiansburg; one granddaughter, Melissa Shank, Alexandria, Va.; three grandsons, Michael Shank, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Eric and Brent Thurlow, both of Christiansburg; two sisters-in-law, Grace Mason and husband Gene, Joyce Cowgill; a brother-in-law, Bill Cowgill and wife Rosalie, Cumberland; a special niece, Ellen Mason; a niece, Vickie Herbaugh; and a nephew, Delbert Cowgill, all of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
DOROTHY F. RHODES
BARTON -- Dorothy Floretta (Kyle) Rhodes, 58, of 18905 Legislative Road, Barton, died Sunday, April 16, 2001, at her son's home.
Born on Aug. 20, 1942, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Merle (Callis) Kyle. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Charles Kyle.
Mrs. Rhodes was a 1960 graduate of Valley High School and Lutheran by faith.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Rhodes; one son, Dr. Jeffery Rhodes and wife Karrey of Frostburg; and three grandsons, Kyle, Liam and Sean Rhodes. She is also survived by three brothers, Cecil Kyle of Tacoma, Washington, Joseph Kyle of Barton, and Earl Kyle of Barton; two sisters, Hazel Lee Spriggs of Chantilly, Va., and Emma Mae Watson of Ambridge, Pa.
At Mrs. Rhodes request, her body was cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at the home of her son, Dr. Jeffery Rhodes on Tuesday, April 17 at 3 p.m. with an open house to follow from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Western Maryland Health Systems Hospice Program, c/o Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
The Boal Funeral Home, Barton, was in charge of the arrangements.
ETHEL L. SCHOENADEL
LITTLE ORLEANS -- Ethel Louise Schoenadel, 74, of Little Orleans, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on Jan. 15, 1927, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Edith (Long) Jewell Cook. She was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen S. Schoenadel; and one sister, Juanita Smith.
Mrs. Schoenadel was owner/operator of Orleans Grocery/Bill's Place and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hancock.
Surviving are her husband, William Joseph Schoenadel; two daughters, Bonnie Rose Howdershell and husband Randolph, Baltimore, and Paula J. Hill and husband Chet, Cresaptown; two sons, John M. "Jack" Schoenadel and wife Ann, Little Orleans, and Kevin J. Schoenadel and wife Kelle, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two brothers, Roy E. Jewell and wife Jean, Cumberland, and Earl L. Jewell, Bel Air; 11 grandchildren, Shane and Erin Schoenadel, Jeffrey Blank, Holly Dougherty, Dee and Brian Fink, Krysten, Keshia and Kelsey Schoenadel, and Matthew and Dustin Hill; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Father Joe Cosgrove as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
LOUELLA G. COSNER
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. -- Louella G. Cosner, 90, of Mount Storm, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at her home.
Born on May 6, 1910, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Wright and Blanche J. (Jewell) Davy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Cosner in 1949, and by a daughter, Gloria Cosner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women's Group.
She is survived by four daughters, Maxine Ours and husband Bill, Fountain, Janet Jones, Oakland, Irene Hawk and husband Jake, and Loretta Fishel and husband Wes, all of Mount Storm; three sons, Rex Cosner and Cindy and Eddie Cosner and wife Sandra, all of Mount Storm, and Robert Cosner and Lorraine, Baltimore, Md.; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Idleman Cemetery, Mt. Storm.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Frame, David Whetzel, Joshua Getz, Brian Hawk, Herman Dixon and Joe Kuhn.
