ETHEL L. SCHOENADEL
LITTLE ORLEANS -- Ethel Louise Schoenadel, 74, of Little Orleans, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on Jan. 15, 1927, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Edith (Long) Jewell Cook. She was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen S. Schoenadel; and one sister, Juanita Smith.
Mrs. Schoenadel was owner/operator of Orleans Grocery/Bill's Place and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hancock.
Surviving are her husband, William Joseph Schoenadel; two daughters, Bonnie Rose Howdershell and husband Randolph, Baltimore, and Paula J. Hill and husband Chet, Cresaptown; two sons, John M. "Jack" Schoenadel and wife Ann, Little Orleans, and Kevin J. Schoenadel and wife Kelle, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two brothers, Roy E. Jewell and wife Jean, Cumberland, and Earl L. Jewell, Bel Air; 11 grandchildren, Shane and Erin Schoenadel, Jeffrey Blank, Holly Dougherty, Dee and Brian Fink, Krysten, Keshia and Kelsey Schoenadel, and Matthew and Dustin Hill; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Father Joe Cosgrove as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
GLADYS M. WILLIAMS
MIDLOTHIAN -- Gladys M. "Nite" Williams, 86, of Midlothian, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on March 17, 1915, in Hopewell, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Emma Gertrude (Border) Penrod. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henry Williams in 1979; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian.
Surviving are four sons, Jess Williams and wife Verla, Midlothian, Allen Williams and wife Janet, Short Gap, W.Va., Thomas Williams and wife Linda, Frostburg, and David Williams and wife Janet, Frostburg; three daughters, Doris Knieriem and husband Ralph Sr., Midlothian, Gladys Bowman and husband David, Midlothian, and Alma Farabaugh and husband David, Melbourne, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clyde J. Penrod and wife Mary, Poolesville.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Trinity Assembly of God Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating. Her body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Lennie Williams, Jeff Knieriem, Dan Knieriem, David Bowman, Jason Williams and Jeremy Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Knieriem Jr., Joshua Williams and Craig Williams.

ROBERT LEHMAN
CUMBERLAND -- Robert Lehman of Cumberland, formerly of Bedford, Pa., died Friday, April 13, 2001, at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Cumberland. He was born on Aug. 13, 1908, in Freiburg, Germany, son of the late Karl and Frieda (Frei) Lehman.
On July 20, 1932, he married
Mildred V. Smouse who preceded him in death on Fed. 4, 1983. He is survived by the following children, Herbert J. married
to the former D. Jean Fyfe of New Paris, E. Rose wife of T. Gene Musselman of Pensyl Hollow Road, Nancy J. wife of William J. Fyfe of Bedford, Barbara wife of Chin Klinkerman of Berlin, Germany; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert married
to the former Hilde Gard of Freiburg, Germany. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Karl, and the following brothers and sisters, Bill, Rudolf, Karl and Elsie.
Mr. Lehman attended the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Cumberland. He belonged to the Bedford Moose Lodge 480, Bedford American Legion Post 113, Bedford VFW Post 1527 and Eagles 245. He worked for over 30 years in repairing shoes, he was also a carpenter and worked in construction.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating.
Burial will held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends can be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

ETHEL M. SMITH
CUMBERLAND -- E. Mae (Cook) Smith, 89, formerly of Sunny Lane, and most recently Frederick Street, Cumberland, and Allegany County Nursing Home, went to be with the Lord, Easter Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on April 28, 1912, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William C. Cook and Emma R. (Wilson) Cook. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Freeman G., James L., William H., Robert P. and Franklin D. Cook; and two sisters, Dorothy M. Uhl and Wilma L. Franciosi.
Mrs. Smith was retired from the Cumberland Macaroni Factory, with more than 30 years service. She was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a very special friend, Alfred James Kienhofer, Cumberland; two sisters, Celesta Uphole, Dover, Ohio, and Martha M. Boyce, Aberdeen; two sister-in-laws, Thelma (Nixon) Cook, Oldtown, and Margaret (Nealis) Cook, Cumberland; a brother-in-law, Tommy Franciosi; two foster daughters, Shirlie Hofacker, Cumberland, and Kay Miller and husband King, LaVale; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She will missed by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends and neighbors.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Park Place United Methodist Church, LaVale, with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
LAWRENCE F. BEEMAN
OAKLAND -- Lawrence F. Beeman, 64, of Overlook Drive, Oakland, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born on May 20, 1936, in Vindex, he was the son of the late William T. and Margaret E. Beeman. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Virts.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah D. (Fike) Beeman, Oakland; one daughter, Debra A. Abernathy, Oakland; three sons, Richard C. Beeman, Oakland, Leonard L. Beeman, Oakland, and Timothy W. Beeman, Oakland; one sister, Shirley Virts, Kitzmiller; three brothers, Rocky Beeman, Vindex, Thomas Beeman, Vindex, and Carl Burton, Oakland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gail Hixon officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
