Although her name was Mary Virginia, she always went by the name Virginia. She was a homemaker and a virtuous Christian woman. Of primary importance in her life were her family and church. Virginia attended Park Place Methodist Church in Narrows Park when she lived in Cumberland. After she and her husband moved to Hyattsville she was baptized into and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of West Hyattsville. Virginia's favorite song was "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and she loved the words, "mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord". I feel sure Virginia is with the Lord now. Virginia always had time to talk to her children and grandchildren. She had time to read stories to them. Help them draw pictures and had time to bake cookies with them. On her grandchildren's birthdays a card always came, sometimes drawn by Grandma Easton, and sometimes with a dollar and a note, "have a root beer on me". You see root beer was her favorite drink. Her grandchildren have fond and lasting memories of her. Virginia was a class act. She talked the talk and walked the walk of a Christian. To all who read this and feel blessed to have known Virginia, say, Amen. Amen!!!
