CUMBERLAND -- Randall Skidmore, 73, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 27, 2001, in Memorial Hospital.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Masonic services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel by the Potomac Lodge 100 A.F. and A.M. on Sunday, 7:30 p.m. The members of the directors staff will meet in group at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 30, 2001, at 12 noon, the Rev. Richard Jewell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
RICHARD E. HARDEN
ECKHART -- Richard E. "Unk" Harden, 58, of Parkersburg Road, Eckhart, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
Entombment will be in Rest Lawn Mausoleum.
WILLIAM D. WARE
CABINS, W.Va. -- William D. Ware, 70, of Smoke Hole Road, Cabins, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Ware was born on June 25, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., the son of Roy L. and Amber Cole Ware. He was a structural iron worker with Local 568 in Cumberland, and retired in 1982. He was a member of Cross City United Methodist Church in Cross City, Fla., a member of Fort Cumberland Lodge #211 A.F. & A.M., and V.F.W. Post #6454 in Parkersburg. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he received the Korean Service Medal, and the Unit Nations Ribbon with four bronze stars.
He married
Betty Adams on May 10, 1999, in Cross City. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Loy Lou Wendricks of Frostburg, and her son, Paul; a son, Kenneth Alkaire of Marco Island, Fla., and his children, Eric, Cory, Jennifer, Merridith and Tyler; two stepdaughters, Jamie L. Murphy of Pittsburgh, Pa., and her children, Hannah and Emma, and Wendy L. Murphy of Winchester, Va., and her daughter, Sarah; a brother, Donald Ware of Cresaptown, Md.; three sisters, Betty Lou Jones of Cresaptown, Geraldine Dick of Fort Ashby, and Penny Delauder of Bowling Green, Md.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Corner United Methodist Church in Cabins, with the Rev. Joseph E. Gerstell officiating.
Following the service, a scattering of the ashes will take place at the Ware home.
Arrangements are being handled by Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, Va.
DALE T. LAVIN
ECKHART -- Dale T. Lavin, 63, of Eckhart, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late George and Clara (Michaels) Lavin. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, George Jr., and Francis.
Mr. Lavin was retired from Super Fresh Markets. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, the Moose Lodge #348, and was in the Army Reserves for six years.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene (Bittner) Lavin; two sons, Thomas Lavin and wife Jada, Williamsport, and Terry Lavin and wife Danielle, Mount Savage; three grandchildren, Peyton, Cassidy and Teylor Lavin; one sister, Anna Mary Blank and husband Carl, Eckhart; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Father Jack Lombardi as celebrant.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Lavin, William Seibert, Robert Michaels, Steven Michaels, Carl Dennis Blank Sr., Ronald Fiddler, Harold Bittner and Jarold Bittner. Honorary pallbearers will be William Woods Jr., Zachary Woods, Carl Dennis Blank Jr. and Nathan Klink.

JEAN E. WARNICK
Keyser, W.Va. -- Jean Elaine Boal Warnick's Father God Almighty encircled His loving arms around her and took her home to reunite with her heavenly family on Friday, July 27, 2001.
Jean, 75, was the daughter of David and Eliza Langham Boal. Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Barton, Md., Jean joins her "Mom" and "Daddy" and brothers Harold, Ellsworth, Alwyn "Red" and twin brother, Francis Wayne Boal, along with sister, Doris Mitchell Peyton. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Wayne Boal and her precious grandson, Freddie Warnick.
Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Harry Frederick Warnick of Keyser; sister, Fay Berry Hill of Westernport Md.; daughter, Doris Zais and her husband Bill of Bloomington Md.; son, Fred Warnick and his wife Debbie of New Creek; daughter, Sarah Poe and her husband Rich of Cumberland Md.; and son, Royce and his wife Leslie of Oakland Md. Her surviving beloved grandchildren include Jared Zais and wife Jennifer, Todd Zais and wife Samantha, Nicholas Zais, Tracie Warnick Ward and her husband Chuck, Katie, Amy and Darcy Poe, Leah, Royce and Rachel Warnick; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Isabella, Abigail and Gabrielle Zais, and Gunnar and Eli Ward.
Jean is also survived by nephew and friend David Boal and his wife Delores of Bloomington, along with an extended family of many nephews and nieces.
Jean was a former secretary at Westvaco, and a substitute teacher for many years in the Allegany County School system. Jean was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, where she served for many years as a choir member and taught Sunday School at Trinity and Barton Presbyterian Church.
Jean's love and unselfish devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren is a blessing beyond measure. Her unconditional love will radiate through the generations of her family.
The family will receive friends at Trinity United Methodist Church, 34 Jones St., Piedmont, on Sunday, July 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, July 30, from 9 to 10 a.m.
Services will begin at the church at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 30.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetary, Westernport.
Serving as Pall Bearers will be Bill, Jared, Todd and Nicholas Zais, Royce Warnick II, Chuck Ward and Rich Poe.

CUMBERLAND -- Mary Eileen Kirk, 75, of 508 Frederick St., Cumberland, died, Thursday, July 26, 2001, at her residence.
Born May 1, 1926, in Ridgeley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Granville B. Smith and Iva Myrtle (Isner) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Clifford Kirk, on March 16, 1991, and a son, Harry E. Deremer in January, 2000.
Mrs. Kirk was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Ridgeley, a life member of the Ridgeley V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by three sons, Edwin J. Deremer and wife Victoria, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and also 10514 Burton Park, Frostburg, Robert C. Deremer, West Palm Beach, Marshall G. Deremer, Keystone Heights; nine grandchildren, Linda Greise and husband Bill, Wiley Ford, Eddie W. Deremer, Ridgeley, Cheryl Creech and husband Nathan, North Augusta, S.C., Lisa Deremer, Keystone Heights, Kevin Deremer, Stephen City, Va., Felicia Deremer, Keystone Heights, Martia Deremer, Keystone Heights, Dawn and Erica Deremer; five great-grandchildren, Michele Deremer, Noah and Emily Creech, Nicole Baker, and Kenneth Swanger.

Born Jan. 22, 1928, in Cumberland, the son of the late John A. and Sada (Keirs) Skidmore. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia W. Skidmore; two sisters, Audrey M. Hyde and Carman R Peoples; and two brothers, Harold C. Skidmore and Ronald E. Skidmore.
Mr. Skidmore was a member of Potomac Lodge 100 A.F. and A.M., Cumberland Valley Scottish Rite, Ali Ghan Temple and Ali Ghan Shrine Director's Staff, Cumberland Henry Hart V.F.W. Post 1411 and the Cumberland Moose Lodge 271. He was retired from ABL and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie P. "Rosie" Skidmore, two step-daughters, Tara Giles and husband Michael of Morgantown, W.Va., and Ronda Walker and husband Randy of Cresaptown; two granddaughters, Jessica and Victoria Walker; a sister, A. Beryl Dourus of Winston-Salem, N.C., his mother-in-law, Lucy Pfeiffer of Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.
