MARIE K. HOLMES
FROSTBURG -- Marie K. Holmes, 91, formerly of 18 Park St., Frostburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at the Saint Vincent dePaul Nursing Center.
Born on Sept. 10, 1909, in Borden Mines, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Harris) Kergan. Mrs. Holmes also was preceded in death by her husband, William Pinkney Holmes II, in December 1959; two brothers, Cecil Kergan and James Kergan; and one sister, Aldyth Hager.
Mrs. Holmes was a retired dining hall supervisor at Frostburg State University. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Republican Women, and past president of the Beall Elementary School's P.T.A.
Surviving are two sons, William P. Holmes III, and wife JoAnn, Crofton, Md., and Robert L. Holmes of Carroll Valley, Pa.; one granddaughter, Lee Ann Roberts and husband Mark R., Croften; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn K. Lemmert and Mabel Ritchie, both of Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald F. Sause officiating.
Friends will be received at the one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be C. Gene Kergan, Edward A. Holmes, Mark R. Roberts, Joel R. Roberts, Robert W. Lewis and Benjamin J. Osten.
ELEANOR L. RICHTER
GRANTSVILLE -- Eleanor L. Richter, 85, formerly of Maple Grove Road, Grantsville, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home, Meyersdale, Pa.
Born Aug. 14, 1915, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Susan (Beckett) Younkin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. Richter, Dec. 30, 1977; an infant daughter, Shelby Jean, in 1940; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd and Willis Younkin; two sisters, Hazel Livingstone and Nina Patterson.
Mrs. Richter was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Grantsville, the AARP and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, William G. Richter and Betty and Carl Michael Richter, both of Meyersdale; four daughters, Elaine Tressler and husband Clyde, Salisbury, Yvonne Collier and husband Wayne, Accident, LaDonna Hare and husband Everett, Grantsville, E. Susan Reebel and husband William, Orlando, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David E. Fetter and the Rev. Ivan J. Maust officiating.
Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Richter's seven grandsons, David Tressler, Robert Collier, James Hare, Ronald Richter, Eric Richter Jeremy Richter and Roy Wilhelm Jr.

KEITH N. JENKINS
BROOKLYN PARK -- Keith N. Jenkins, 37, of 222 Meadow Road, Brooklyn Park, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001.
Born Dec. 3, 1962, in New Jersey, he was the son of the Drena M. (Dickel) Jenkins, Elkridge, and the late Gerard N. Jenkins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Dickel and paternal grandparents, James and Dolores Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins was assistant manager of Wilson Tire and Auto Service, Odenton.
He is survived by two special children, Ashley Nicole and Sean Edward Allred of Arbutus; two brothers, Jeff Jenkins, Brooklyn Park and Jay Jenkins and wife Kendra, Laurel; and three nieces, Kristina, Krystal, and Caleigh Jenkins.
Anyone who knew him knows he was a kind and generous man with a very giving heart. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In accordance with Mr. Jenkins wishes there will be no visitations.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Fleck Funeral Home, 7601 Sandy Spring, Laurel.

SYLVIA L. MICHAEL
WESTERNPORT -- Sylvia Louise "Rosebud" Michael, 64, formerly of 313 Spruce St., Westernport, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for 14 years.
Born at Aaron's Run, Garrett County on May 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Elmer R. and Ruth (Broadwater) Michael. Two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Michael; one sister, Edna Dayton; two brothers-in-laws, Rolland Nutter and Charles Dayton; and one sister-in-law, Ann O"Haver also preceded her in death.
Miss Michael was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport.
Surviving her are three sisters, Helen Keller and husband Kenneth of Westernport, Alberta Nutter of New Lexington, Ohio, and Emily Ann Robinson and husband Carol of Finksburg; one sister-in-law, Mildred Michael of Sharpstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ellis Kretschmer officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
BERNICE K. WELCH DEARING
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Bernice K. Welch Dearing, 85, of Martinsburg, formerly of Keyser, died Monday,Aug. 13, 2001, at City Hospital.
Born March 16, 1916, in New Creek, Mineral County, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Addie (McNemar) Coffman.
She was a member of the Moler Avenue Church of the Brethren and a member of the Daughters of the Americas, Council 65.
She is survived by one daugter, Betty Miller, Purgitsville; one son, Vernon Edward Welch, Swanton; one step-daughter, Mary L. Jenkins, Martinsburg; two step-sons, Russell and Douglas Dearing of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 30 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and one sister, Beatrice Harris, Anticoh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Dearing; one daughter, Patricia Kesner; four sisters, Anna Bell Heavner, Elsie Blackburn, Edna Likens, and Pearl Weasenforth; seven brothers, Cecil, Clarence, Guy, Howard, Herbert, Robert, and Charles Coffman; and one step-grandson, Kenneth Hovermale.
The family will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home in Keyser, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie H. Edmonds officiating.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
RUTH R. MICHAEL
FROSTBURG -- Ruth R. Michael, 99, of Frostburg, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St. Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald F. Sause officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
MARGARET L. WILES
TERRA ALTA, W.Va. -- Margaret Louise Wiles, 74, of Terra Alta, died on Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Hopemont Hospital, Terra Alta.
Born on Sept. 7, 1926, in Amblersburg, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Wiles and Mary Elizabeth (Parrick) Wiles.
One brother, Charles F. Wiles and wife Anna, Westernport, and one niece, Linda Webb and family, Lonaconing, survive her.
A Memorial service will be conducted Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, with the Rev. Donald Webb officiating.
The family will be greeting relatives and friends one hour prior to the service.
