MARION E. SKIDMORE
SLABTOWN -- Marion E. "Sis" Skidmore, 65, of Slabtown, Mount Savage, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1935, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late Irvan Wolford and Mary Willison Wolford Schurg. She was also predeceased by her husband, Harold "Sal" Skidmore and daughter, Barbara Ann.
Mrs. Skidmore was Baptist by faith. She was a member of the Frostburg Eagles Auxiliary 1273.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Skidmore and fiancee Steve Johnson, Westernport, Diane Skidmore, at home; one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Johnson; three sisters, Ruth Drew, Midlothian, Evelyn Atkinson, Frostburg, and Linda Eversole, Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Saturday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Frostburg Eagles Auxiliary 1273 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Skidmore, Mark Atkinson, Deomont Nichols, Sam Rankin, Tom Porter, and Larry Drew.
RICHARD E. HARDEN
ECKHART -- Richard E. "Unk" Harden, 58, of Parkersburg Road, Eckhart, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Oct. 5, 1942, in Frostburg, he was the son of late Jessie E. "Dick" and Beatrice (Kendall) Harden. He also was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Harden.
Mr. Harden was employed by Kaiser Refractories and Allegany County Nursing Home. He was an MP in the National Guard Reserves, and a member of the NRA.
Surviving are one sister, Hilda Gordon and husband Gerald, Eckhart, and two nieces Karen Gordon-Fiorita and husband "Trey", Frostburg and Michelle Gordon, Eckhart.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
Entombment will be in Rest Lawn Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Albert Ryan, Trey Fiorita, Jimmy Michaels, Richard Sharpless Pete Folk, and Harold Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be John Harden.

M. HELEN MILLER
OAKLAND -- M. Helen Miller, 89, of Center Street, Oakland, formerly of Gormania, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born on June 30, 1912, in Bayard, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Molly (Minnick) Miller.
She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and a former member of the Gormania United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as the Bible School director and a teacher, the Sunday School superintendent and a teacher and was active in the Methodist Women and the Methodist Youth Fellowship. An active senior citizen, she was a member of the Grant County Homemakers.
She is survived by one daughter, Elsie V. Stemple, Aurora; one son, Rodney Leroy Miller, Winchester, Va.; one foster daughter, Mary Rush, Oakland; one sister, Edith Hickey, Keyser; three grandchildren, Rodney L. Miller and Thomas C. Miller, both of Winchester, Va., and Beverly (Hanlin) Fanelli, Germantown; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Christin and Matthew Fanelli.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mel Menker officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Bayard Cemetery, Bayard, W.Va.

CUMBERLAND -- Friends for Rhoda L. Wilson will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

CUMBERLAND -- Graveside services for Charles E. Day will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Davis Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating.

IDA R. GERSON FRAM
ROCKVILLE -- Ida Rosella Gerson Fram of the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville, died on July 24, 2001, former long time resident of Cumberland.
Daughter of Michael and Shanna (Swartz) Gerson.
She was the wife of the late Morris Daniel Fram, manager of Harvey's Jewelry Store, and a long time active member of Beth Jacob Congregation. She was a long time employee of Rosenbaums Department Store and worked at the state of Maryland Home Care Unit.
She leaves a son, David Michael Fram and wife Patti; two granddaughters, Sarah and Megan of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter, Sheila Fram Stempler and husband Frederick of Bethesda; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Mark; three great-granddaughters of Brooklyn, N.Y. She also leaves two sisters, Sylvia Gerson and Sara Sommer, both of Boca Raton, Fla.; and a brother, Sidney Gerson and wife Beverly of Baltimore.
She was a sister to the late Bessie Megin and husband Maurice, Lillian Northcraft and husband Cecil and Max Gerson.
The Memorial Service will be held at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 26.
The family will be receiving friends and family at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Stempler on Friday afternoon, July 27, Saturday evening, July 28, and through Monday evening, July 30.

RHODA L. WILSON
CUMBERLAND -- Rhoda Leona Wilson, 91, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 22, 1909, in Chaneysville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Barthalow) Bridges. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John R. Wilson; nine brothers and sisters; and two step-daughters.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She was a member of Mapleside United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, James E. Beeseck Sr. and wife Hazel of Cumberland; four daughters, Dorothy P. Dicken of Cincinnati, Ohio; M. Jackie Robinette, Cumberland, Margaret E. Riggs and husband George, Plantation, Fla., Linda L. Gilbert, Cumberland; one step-daughter, Effie B. Pitts, Daleville, Ala.; nine grandchildren, James E. Beeseck Jr., Richard Beeseck, Sharon Grimm, Glenn J. Robinette, all of Cumberland, Margaret Conaway, Cincinnati, Marcia DeHollander, David Gilbert, both of Norfolk, Va., William Riggs, Charlottesville, Va., John Riggs, Plantation; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
