LESTER L. ANDREWS
MOSCOW -- Lester Lee (Doc) Andrews, 90, of Moscow, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born at Moscow, Oct. 11, 1910, Mr. Andrews was the son of the late William Andrews and Katie Shaw Andrews.
He was a former employee of the Celanese Fibers Corporation Spinning Department and also of Andrews Auto Sales. He was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge 96 Knights of Pythias, Lonaconing.
Mr. Andrews is survived by two sisters, Eva Gephart, Fort Myers, Fla. and Ruth Keller, LaVale.
The body was cremated.
Memorial services will be Friday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, with the Rev. Neva Leatherwood officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
CHARLES E. DAY
CUMBERLAND -- Charles E. Day, 82, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 9, 1917, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillian (Pysell) Day. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Bittner) Day, and several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Day was employed with the City of Cumberland Waste and Treatment Department. He was a member of the Melvin United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Gilbert Day, Oakland, and a number nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.
VANCE H. STORRS
MARTINSBURG, Pa. -- Vance H. Storrs, 86, of 501 Golden Lane, Martinsburg, formerly of Bedford, died at 7:05, Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg.
Born in Osterburg, Bedford County, on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1914, he was the son of the late George and Bertha May (Fetter) Storrs.
He was a salesman for 30 years for Exxon Corporation at Midway Plaza in Bedford.
He was the husband of Elva J. (Deremer) Storrs, whom he married
Sept. 30, 1935.
He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Bedford, and a member of the Bedford Elks Lodge 1707.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Ella May wife of Don Rose, Bedford; daughter, Carol Jean wife of Donald Miller, Syracuse, N.Y.; daughter, Betty Lou wife of Tom Tencer, Bedford and Houston, Texas; a son, Richard Paul Storrs, Cleveland, Tenn.; sister, Melba Seaman, Pittsburgh. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and George Storrs and an infant sister, Betty Jane.
Friends are invited to call, Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
Funeral services will be at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, with the Revs. William and Mary Hendricks officiating.
Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

CUMBERLAND -- Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m.
At Mrs. Devitt's request, her body will be cremated.
Inurnment will be in Philadelphia, Pa.
Pallbearers will be Jon Grisar, Brian Orlino, John Travers, Ryan Travers, Edward McNicholas, and Robert McNichlos.
CHARLES W. MCDOWELL
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. -- Charles Wesley McDowell, 81, of Mount Storm, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at his home.
Born March 4, 1920 in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Martha (Pierce) McDowell Moreland. Preceded in addition to his parents by, two brothers, Henry E. McDowell and William A. McDowell.
Mr. McDowell retired from Allegheny Mining Corporation, Mount Storm. He was deacon of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren and a member of the Sulphur City Strings Band, Sulphur City.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Pearl E. (Cosner) McDowell; one son, Larry W. McDowell and wife Alyce C. of Mount Storm; and one granddaughter, Candice L. McDowell; and three step-sisters, Mary Cosner, Mount Storm, Oreta Jones, Fountain, and Naomi Amtower, New Creek.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm with the Rev. John E. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Mount Storm.

JUNIOR F. VALENTINE
RIDGELEY, W.Va. -- Junior Francis Valentine, 73, of Route 2, Ridgeley, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Ridgeley, he was the son of the late Jesse F. and Mary Elizabeth (Albright) Valentine. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall and Charles Valentine.
Mr. Valentine served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a bricklayer for J.F. Valentine & Sons. Mr. Valentine had been a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
He will be sadly missed by friends, Bonnie Scully and her children, Brandon and Brittney Scully, Keyser.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, Md., on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Oscar Ohler officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the local combined veterans honor guard.
