CUMBERLAND -- Douglas Royce "Sarge" Willison Sr., 58, of Marion Street, Cumberland, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Services will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Honorary Pallbearers for Mr. Willison will be members of the V.V.A. Chapter 172.

WARDER R. NETHKEN
OAKLAND -- Warder Robert Nethken, Oakland, died Saturday, July 22, 2001, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Elk Garden, W.Va., to Reese Warder Nethken and Carrie Pritts Nethken. He was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena "Peg" Nethken.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Ehlers and Eleanor Alvarez; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment and service for the family will be held in the Druid Ridge Cemetery, Baltimore.

MATILDA NORRIS
MOUNT SAVAGE -- Matilda Norris, 93, of Slabtown Road, NW, Mount Savage, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on Aug. 6, 1907, in Morantown, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Congetta (Principe) Bishields. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Susan Keating, Virginia Trimble, Anna Folk, and Clara D'Amico; and one brother, George Bishields Sr.
Mrs. Norris was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband of 60 years, David L. Norris; one daughter, Joella Smith Malloy and husband Leo, Mount Savage; one son, Michael A. Norris and wife Mary Susan, Mount Savage; six grandchildren, Patrick Malloy, Pittsburgh, Pa., Brian Malloy, Corriganville, Rae Ann Pfaff, Eckhart, Renee Norris, Fredericksburg, Va., David I. Norris, U.S. Navy, and Elizabeth Norris, Mount Savage; two great-granddaughters, Breanna Malloy and Evin Pfaff; one sister, Yolanda Hutzell, Mount Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Sister Joan Minella, S.S.N.D., officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Patrick's Catholic on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Jerome Dunn, O.F.M., Cap., as celebrant.
Interment will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Mount Savage, Md.

CUMBERLAND -- George H. Knotts, 89, of Pennsylvania Ave., Cumberland, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Memorial Hospital.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Masonic Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. by Potomac Lodge 100 A.F. & A.M.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
KEVIN E. GARLAND
PIEDMONT, W.Va. -- Kevin Edwin Garland, 34, of Frostburg, Md., formerly of 14 W. Hampshire St., Piedmont, entered his journey to everlasting peace on Saturday, July 21, 2001.
Born on March 6, 1967, in Keyser, he is the son of James Henry Garland of Piedmont, and the late Leola Glendora (Perry) Garland.
Kevin worked at Cyber Rep of Frostburg. He was a 1985 graduate of Keyser High School. He continued his education at West Virginia University and served briefly in the U.S. Military. Kevin attended the First Church of God in Christ, Piedmont.
In addition to his father, he is survived by five sisters, Sheila Warren of Portland, Ore., Janice Bullet of Waynesboro, Mo., Francine Thorton, Nina Newby and Thea Garland, all of Piedmont; three brothers, Robert Washington of Clarksburg, Md., James Garland of Keyser, and Brian Garland of University Park, Md. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends, Esther Ross and Penny Bostic.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, July 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, on Monday, July 30 at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. -- Services for Richard T. "Dick" Brant Sr., 74, of Short gap, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, will be conducted at the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Heisey and the Rev. Eric Hooks officiating. Friends will also be received at the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Fort Ashby Cemetery.

HYNDMAN, Pa. -- Charles D. "Bill" Imler, 71, of Uniontown, formerly of Hyndman, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at Uniontown Hospital.
Born Nov. 30, 1929, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late James and Rose Reid.
Mr. Imler was retired from the U.S. Army, was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 51, North Union V.F.W. Post 8543 and the Hutchinson Sportsmen's Club, all of Uniontown.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta (Wong) Imler; six children, Charlene Snyder and husband Daniel of Kissimmee, Fla., Cheryl Culler and husband Dennis, and Phillip Imler and wife Linda, all of Ormond Beach, Fla., Richard and Michael Imler, both of Uniontown, and Melissa Villarreal of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private interment for Mr. Imler was conducted shortly after his death.

MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK -- Ina Grace Bittinger, 88, of L. Street, Mountain Lake Park, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at her home.
Born on Sept. 5, 1912, in Brandonville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur F. and Virginia (Evans) Moyers. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Lorraine (Bittinger) Dixon in 1984, and 10 brothers and sisters.
She was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mountain Lake Park. She was a former business partner in Del Builders Construction Company and the Montgomery Ward Catalog Sales. She was also a dedicated homemaker and mother.
She is also survived by her husband of 65 years, Delbert R. Bittinger Sr., Mountain Lake Park; four sons, Delbert R. Bittinger Jr. and wife Mary, Wells Point, Texas, Gary F. Bittinger and wife Mary, Anderson, S.C., Douglas H. Bittinger and wife Sue, Oakland, Lloyd E. Bittinger, Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Glenna Foreman, Albright; one brother, Carlos Moyers, Bruceton Mills; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.
Services will be held at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mountain Lake Park, on Thursday, July 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Martin officiating.
Intermentwill be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland.
