CHARLES W. MCDOWELL
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. -- Charles Wesley. McDowell, 81, of Mount Storm, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at his home.
Born March 4, 1920 in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Martha (Pierce) McDowell Moreland. Preceded in addition to his parents by, two brothers, Henry E. McDowell and William A. McDowell.
Mr. McDowell retired from Allegheny Mining Corporation, Mount Storm. He was deacon of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren and a member of the Sulphur City Strings Band, Sulphur City.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Pearl E. (Cosner) McDowell; one son, Larry W. McDowell and wife Alyce S. of Mount Storm; and one granddaughter, Candice L. McDowell; and three step-sisters, Mary Cosner, mount Storm, Oreta Jones, Fountain, and Naomi Amtower, New Creek.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm with the Rev. John E. Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Mount Storm.

DANIEL J. KIDWELL
POINTS, W.Va. -- Daniel Joseph Kidwell, 57, died July 21, 2001, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Feb. 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Eldred and Lenna (Fridley) Kidwell.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses, Romney, and of Labor Local 616, Cumberland.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean (Fello) Kidwell; one son, Brian Daniel Kidwell and wife Jennifer, Levels; one daughter, Cindy Lynn Kidwell, Martinsburg; two brothers, Eldred Kidwell Jr., Levels, Denver Kidwell, Points; and two sisters, Shirley Poling, Baker, and Glenda Dier, Naples, Fla.
Friends will be received at the Baldwin Funeral Home, 115 E. Birch Lane, Romney on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at the Level Cemetery, Level, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Gary Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Levels Cemetery, Levels.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Romney, Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 7 p.m. with Gary Smith officiating.
At the families request memorial contribution may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 375 W. Gravel Lane, Romney, WV 26757, in lieu of flowers.

DOUGLAS R. WILLISON
CUMBERLAND -- Douglas Royce "Sarge" Willison Sr., 58, of Marion Street, Cumberland, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 12, 1942, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Clyde R. Willison and Hazel Marie (Bennett) Willison.
Mr. Willison was a Fort Hill High School graduate, class of 1960. He was retired from the Allegany County Roads Department with 14 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served 25 years in the Army Reserves, while in the reserves, he was deployed to Germany on active duty. Also he was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 172, Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W., and the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie (Lantz) Willison, Cumberland; two sons, Douglas Royce Willison Jr. and wife Margaret, Cumberland, Troy Allen Willison and wife Amy, Flintstone; a sister, Donna Jean Willison, Cumberland; a brother, Tom Willison and wife Donna, Cumberland; two grandsons, Ryan and Brandon Willison, Cumberland; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Willison, Flintstone; a special sister-in-law, Linda Iser, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Honorary Pallbearers for Mr. Willison will be members of the V.V.A. Chapter 172.
GARY L. MONGOLD
WILEY FORD, W.Va. -- Gary Lee Mongold, 60, of Wiley Ford, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 10, 1941 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Lee Howard and Reita (McBride) Mongold.
Mr. Mongold was retired from the Chessie System as a pipefitter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Mongold; two sons, Brian L. Mongold and wife Debra Lynn, Larry A. Mongold; special aunt and uncle, Sally and Alvin Bennett, all of Wiley Ford.; two grandchildren, Jaclyn R. Mongold and Ryan L. Mongold, Germany; and many special relatives.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Gordon and the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in the Abe Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
RALPH O. NELSON
ECKHART -- Ralph O. (Red) Nelson, 90, of Eckhart, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born in June 12, 1911 in Eckhart, he was the son of the late John Nelson and Rosa (Crowe) Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Leona Mabel (Loar) Nelson in 1998; one son, Robert O. Nelson, 1983; and 14 brothers and sisters.
Retired from the Celanese Fibers Corporation after 45 years of service in the spinning department. Member of Eckhart United Methodist Church. Mr. Nelson enjoyed gardening and fishing during his lifetime.
Surviving are three daughters, Lois Filsinger and husband Norman "Don", Clarysville, Rosalie Warnick and husband Jack, Frostburg, and Nancy Pugh and husband George, Fulton; two sons, Ralph G. Nelson and wife Lynn, Frostburg, and John Nelson and wife Pam, Oakland; one sister, Stella Krauss, Frostburg; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eckart Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
