DEMOS GEORGE
LAVALE -- Demos George, 93, formerly of LaVale then a resident of Devlin Manor, died Friday, July 20, 2001, in Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife, Alma (Brown) George; a son, Nick George of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
Inurnment will be held in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, is in charge of arrangements.
PANSIE M. DAVIS
LAVALE -- Pansie Mae Davis, 95, of LaVale, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born June 18, 1906, in Spring Gap, she was the daughter of the late James David and Etta Lear (Trueax) Chaney. She was also preceded in death by two husbands Harry Jeffries and Herbert Davis.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church. She had been a hostess and cashier at several local restaurants.
Survivors include her son, William Howard Chaney and wife Gloria, Charleston, S.C.; one grandson, Robert William Chaney; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at noon, with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

ALICE E. LEISHEAR
LONACONING -- Alice Eva Leishear, 61, of 15813 Rockville St., Lonaconing, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born in Lonaconing, on April 8, 1940, she was a daughter of the late James Elmer Getson Sr. and Bertha Jane (Bittinger) Getson. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Elmer Getson Jr. and Frank William Getson.
Mrs. Leishear was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing. She was employed as a care taker for Allegany County Health Department.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Earl Leishear, Lonaconing; five sisters, Bertha Jane Rosenberger, Kent Island, Irma D. Shockey, Lonaconing, Leah Pauline Harding, Laurel, Judy C. Miller, Lonaconing, and Hilda Angella Bell, Point of Rocks; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Leishear's body was cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Webb officiating.
Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
Friends and relatives will be received at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

JESSE D. ISNER
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. -- Friends for Jesse D. Isner will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Saturday at 11 a.m.
Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
ROBERT N. DEAL
MARKLEYSBURG, Pa. -- Robert Nathan Deal, 79, of Markleysburg, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 24, 1921, in Redhouse, Md., he was the son of the late Elmer and Bertha Durst Deal. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Elsie Herring Deal; children, Richard Deal and wife Judy of Markleysburg, Pa., Barbara Davis and husband Ronald of Swanton, Md., Robin Bittinger and husband James of McHenry, Timothy Deal and fiancee Angel of Markleysburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Deal and Parkley Deal and his wife Mary, all of Grantsville; two sisters, Mary Heiner of Akron, Ohio, and Edna Butler of Confluence.
Friends will be received in the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home, Route #40, Farmington, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues on Sunday until 2 p.m. to the hour of service with the Rev. Scott Teets officiating.
Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery.
EARL W. LOWERY
SUMMERFIELD, Fla. -- Earl W. Lowery, 75, of South East 153 Loop, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born on Oct. 20, 1925, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Earl D. and Mary M. (Merrick) Lowery.
He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was also an active member of the Shriner's.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor L. (Tolson) Lowery, Summerfield; one son, Brian E. Lowery, Orlando; one sister, Mannetta Groom, Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Conner E. Lowery and Josh Hunter.
At Mr. Lowery's request, his body will be cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Deep Creek Baptist Church, McHenry, Md., at a later date with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
The Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland, is in charge of the arrangements.
THE REV. EVA PORTER
BARTON -- The Rev. Eva Porter, 86, of 24013 Kyle Hill Road, Barton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 27, 1914, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna Mae (Lee) Kyle. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, the Rev. Hugh Porter; and nine brothers; and four sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The Rev. Porter was a graduate of Zion Bible Institute, Providence, R.I. She was a member of the General Council of the Assembly's of God, Springfield, Mo., the Potomac District of Fairfax, Va.; and a member of the Lonaconing Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Peggy L. Saville and husband Boyd of Gaithersburg.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Webb and the Rev. Alvin Kyle officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
