FINZEL -- Dorothy Agnes Arnold, 78, of Sampson Rock Road, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Finzel, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Barbara (McKenzie) Raley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Arnold; one son, Ralph Arnold; one daughter, Bonnie Twigg; 16 brothers and sisters, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Arnold was a homemaker and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Booth and husband Jack, and Robin Shaver and husband John, all of Frostburg; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Arnold, Frostburg; seven grandchildren, Sherry Buffenmyer and husband Jeffrey, Frostburg, Ralph Arnold Jr. and wife Molly, Frostburg, Jack Booth and wife Michelle, Mount Savage, Stephen Booth and wife Amy, Mount Savage, Charles Arnold and wife Robin, Frostburg, Jocelyn Shaver, Frostburg, and Ian Shaver, Frostburg; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew Witt Jr., Connor Arnold, Joshua Booth, Taylor Buffenmyer, Cassie Arnold, Kaitlyn Booth, Haley Booth, and Alexie Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A wake service will be held there at 3 p.m. by Father Jack Lombardi.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Father Adam Parker as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Arnold-Layton Cemetery, Finzel.

CUMBERLAND -- Friends will be received for Sandra K. "Sandy" Cook at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Capacchione officiating.
At Mrs. Cook's request, she will be cremated at the Scarpelli Funeral Home Crematorium.
WILLIAM W. HOGAN
KEYSER, W.Va. -- William W. Hogan, 88, of 500 Carskadon Lane, Keyser, W.Va., more recently a resident of the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, Md., and formerly of New Jersey, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at the Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md.
Born on Nov. 5, 1912, at Bridgeport, Conn., he was a son of the late William D. and Loretta (Cummiskey) Hogan. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor V. (Decker) Hogan, on Feb. 8, 1974; and two sisters.
Mr. Hogan was retired as a crimes news reporter with the New York Daily Mirror in New York City and the Asbury Park Press in Asbury Park, N.J. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Department of West Virginia, Charleston; the Church of the Assumption, Keyser; and the AARP.
Surviving are one son, William C. Hogan and wife Willavenne Y., Mountain Lake Park; one daughter, Eileen Kearns and husband Jerome, New York; and one grandson, Michael Hogan.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, TOR, as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

LAVALE -- June Elaine Gover, 805 Valley View Drive, LaVale, died Monday, July 9, 2001, after a brief illness at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Ort; two sisters, Virginia Ort and Maryland Schumann; and one brother, Harry Ort.
A graduate of Allegany High School and Catherman's Business School, she was retired from the Stroehmann Brothers Company.
A lifetime member of Park Place United Methodist Church, she was active in numerous functions including the Sunday School program, administrative council, and was past president of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Gover Sr., LaVale; son and daughter-in-law, Charles H., Jr. and Nancy Gover, Morgantown, W.Va.; nephew and wife Lewis R. and Cindy Schumann, Gaithersburg; grandnephews and wives Erik J. and Katie Schumann and sons Luke and Scott, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Scott L. and Cyndi Schumann, Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Lewis J. Ort, LaVale; and nieces Karen Ort Sullivan, Cumberland, Marlee Ort Ulm, Stringtown, Pa., Cherie Ort, Grantsville, Md., and Kim Alkire, Marco Island, Fla.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from noon until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating. Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Russell Bucy, George Foster, Donald Bower, Cliff Loar and James Stoop.

GRANTSVILLE -- Elmer Ray "Kaiser" Hetrick, 84, formerly of 49 Miner Road, Grantsville, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Sept. 20, 1916, in Accident, he was a son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Butler) Hetrick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche (Durst) Hetrick, May 22, 1987.
Mr. Hetrick was a retired car mover for Harbison-Walker Refractories and was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Gloria J. Resh, Frostburg, Helen M. Kamp, Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Ruth Constable, Johnstown, Pa.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brenda Shreve officiating.
Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery.
