JOSEPHINE V. DAWSON
KEYSER, W.Va. -- Josephine V. "Jo" Dawson, 79, of Route 6, Knobley Road, Keyser, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice Unit, where she had been a patient for five days.
Born on Feb. 19, 1922 at Shaw, she was a daughter of the late Forest Harvey and Dessie M. (Wilson) Harvey Hickey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Halford E. "Pete" Dawson on April 24, 1973; one sister, Emogene Cosner; and two brothers, Dempsey Harvey and Jimmy Hickey.
Jo was employed as a floral designer first with Leading Florist in Keyser and later with the Colonial Flower Shop and the Flower Bay in Piedmont. She was Protestant by faith and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nancy Hanks Post 3518, V.F.W., Keyser.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Diann Evans and husband Delmas, Keyser; one sister, Caroline Bennett, Spraggs, Pa.; two brothers, Dewey Harvey and wife Peg, Elk Garden, and Robert Harvey and wife Virginia, Spanishburg; one grandson, Jon L. Evans and wife Tina, Keyser; three great-granddaughters, Ashley, Jordan, and LeAnn Evans; three sisters-in-laws, Lola Johnson, Keyser, Eva Seiler, Detroit, Mich., and a special sister-in-law, Pauline Alt and husband Chuck, Keyser; one brother-in-law, H. Lester Dawson, Keyser; and one very special friend, Mary Alexander, Frostburg.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Blair officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
LILLIAN M. HARMAN
KEYSER, W.Va. -- Lillian M. Harman, 88, formerly of 1097 Florida Avenue, Keyser, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 20, 1913 at Keyser she was a daughter of the late George Thomas and Alice Belle (Staggs) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Harman on Jan. 5, 1993; four brothers, Harness, Guy and Roy Miller, Mac Dye; and three sisters, Blanche Markle, Bessie Faulk and Helen Horton.
Mrs. Harman was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Semper Fidelis Sunday School class of the church. A leader of the Upstreamers 4-H Club for many years, she was also a member of the ladies Auxiliary to both Boyce Houser Post 41, American Legion, Keyser and Nancy Hanks Post 3518, V.F.W., Keyser. She was also a member of the Waxler Homemakers (CEOS) Club.
Surviving are three sons, Robert D. Harman and wife Phyllis, Keyser, O. Thomas Harman and wife Vicki, Keyser, and Herbert L. Harman and wife Sue, Sterling, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. E. Jay West officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed tot he Calvary United Methodist Church, 233 S. Mineral St., Keyser, WV 26726.
MAVOURNEEN V. DONALDSON
LAVALE -- Mavourneen V. Donaldson, 92, of LaVale Boulevard, LaVale, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at her home.
Born May 24, 1909, in Garyburg, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. and Estella (Thomas) Kunes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Donaldson; three brothers, and two sisters.
Mrs. Donaldson was a homemaker and a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church, Cumberland.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors are a nephew, Walter B. Orndorff of Cumberland and two nieces, Elizabeth Orndorff Malone of Cumberland, and Susan Lee and husband John of Destin, Fla., she is also survived by several great nephews and great nieces.
Honoring Mrs. Donaldson's request there will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Monday, July 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Goetschius officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Donaldson to the Southminster Presbyterian Church, 306 Race St., Cumberland MD 21502.

HERBERT H. "RANDY" RANDOLPH
CUMBERLAND -- Herbert Holmes "Randy" Randolph, 83, of Allegany County Nursing Home and formerly of 856 Sperry Terrace, Cumberland, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1917, in Randolph, Tenn., he was the son of the late William Randolph and Jennie (Clayton) Randolph. He was also preceded by his wife, D. Virginia (Jankey) Randolph, May 8, 2000; two sons, William Randolph, automobile accident, 1978 and Michael Randolph, killed in Vietnam, March 29, 1970; a daughter, Robbie Carr.
Mr. Randolph was a pipe fitter for Kelly-Springfield Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bouquet Bowling League, local pipe fitters union and retirement club. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Goldstar Post 6452 V.F.W., Ridgeley, W.Va.
Surviving are two daughters, Cherie Robinson and husband Dave, Cumberland, Sara Sullivan and husband George, Colersville, Tenn.; four grandsons, Joshua Robinson, Cumberland, Stephen Sullivan, Washington, D.C., Davis Sullivan, Texas, and Bobby Joplin, Tenn.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday, 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Monday, 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. John J. Duffus, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
WILLIAM R. STRESKY
TERRA ALTA, W.Va. -- William Robert Stresky, 57, of Terra Alta, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Nov. 20, 1943, in New Kensington, Pa., a son of the late William C. and Helen E. Morgan Stresky of Terra Alta.
He is survived by three daughters, Emily Dawn Stresky of Buckhannon, Alicia Marie Stresky of Terra Alta, and Sara Renee Stresky of Simi Valley, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
He came to Preston County in 1971, where he began his teaching career. He was a principal for three years, and then a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Terra Alta High School. He took the girls basketball team to the state tournaments in 1982 and 1983. He also was the boys JV basketball coach. He was also a youth league coach. In 1991, he went to Preston High School where he taught German. He was the faculty advisor of the German Club both at Preston High School and Terra Alta High School. He was the chairperson of the Foreign language department at Preston High School. He was the founding member and first president of the Preston County School Employees Federal Credit Union, He taught night classes for Fairmont State College. He retired in 1997 from the Preston County School System. He was a dedicated and loving father and son. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Terra Alta, and has recently been attending Little Sandy Church of the Nazareen, Bruceton Mills. He was a past member of the Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department. In the past several years he has been a volunteer cameraman at WNPB, Morgantown, and a VIVA volunteer at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Friends will be received at Arthur H. Wright funeral Home, Terra Alta, Saturday, July 7, 2001 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 8, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church, Terra Alta from 1 to 2 p.m. service time with the Rev. Michael Daniels and the Rev. Chad Harvey officiating.

RAYMOND A. WAMPLER
SWANTON -- Raymond Ausburn Wampler, 88, of 11635 Savage River Road, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1912 in Avilton, he was the son of the late Jonas E. Wampler and Sarah Ann Charlotte (Lancaster) Wampler. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Lawrence, Harry, Thomas, Leonard, Benjamin and Floyd Wampler and one sister, Margaret Loufresha Hixenbaugh.
He was a retired tool and dye man with Martin-Marietta Corporation, Baltimore, and was also a self employed carpenter and building contractor. Mr. Wampler was affiliated with the Church of the Brethren in Baltimore.
Surviving are his wife Dorcas Evelyn (Broadwater) Wampler with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage on April 11, 2001; two daughters, Helen Mainhart and her husband John, Brookfield Center, Conn., Judy Harhager and her husband David, Stewartstown, Pa.; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville on Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at God's Ark of Safety, Frostburg with the Rev. J. Richard Greene officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. LaVale.
Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Wampler.
