MARY L. EVARD WILT
OAKLAND -- Mary Lucille Evard Wilt, 79, of Oakland, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Oakland, on March 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph T. Rodeheaver and Myrtle (Markley) Rodeheaver. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Rodeheaver, Russell Rodeheaver, and Lofton Rodeheaver.
Mrs. Wilt was a member of the Crellin United Methodist Church, Crellin Ladies Aide, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Southern Rescue Squad.
She is survived by her husband, Tilden H. Wilt; two daughters, Sandra Gray and husband Bob, Oakland, and Annabelle Martin and husband David, also of Oakland; three sons, Albert "Charlie" Evard and wife Diana, Oakland, Joseph Evard, Baltimore, and Nicholas Evard and wife Sharon of Oakland; one step-son, Tilden Wilt and wife Sandy of Friendsville; three sisters, Catherine Emerick and Josephine Croft, both of Cumberland, and Rosalie Baker, Oakland; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home in Oakland on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Martin and the Rev. Richard Sisler officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Garrett County or to the Southern Rescue Squad.
GLADYS E. GIFT
LUKE -- Gladys Elizabeth Gift, 90, formerly of 133 Mullen Ave., Luke, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where she had been a resident.
Surviving are three sons, Elwood H. Gift and wife Roslyn of Oakridge, Tenn., James Gift and wife Ruth of Westernport, Paul Gift and wife Betty Lou of Westernport; five grandchildren, Andrew Gift of Denver, Colo., Laura Gift of New York, N.Y., Jonathon Gift of Sterling, Va., Timothy Gift of Mount Lake Park, and Dana Gift of Columbia; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ervin Huston and the Rev. William Shimer officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
GLADYS E. GIFT
LUKE -- Gladys Elizabeth Gift, 90, formerly of 133 Mullen Ave., Luke, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where she had been a resident.
Born in Romney, W.Va., on July 2, 1910, she was the daughter of the late James and Ida (Bobo) Iliff. Her husband, Elwood H. Gift in 1998 also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gift was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, where she was past President of the Aurora-Derham Bible Class. Mrs. Gift formerly served on the council of the Town of Luke for a total of 10 years. She received the community service award for the Town of Luke in 1982. She was also a Red Cross volunteer, having worked with the Bloodmobile.
Surviving are three sons, Elwood H. RALPH W. MULLENAX
FLINTSTONE -- Ralph W. Mullenax, 71, of Cresap Mill Road, Flintstone, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Aug. 11, 1929, in Petersburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jacob and Lenora (Evans) Mullenax. He was also preceded in death by one brother.
Mr. Mullenax was retired from CSX Corp. as a machinist helper. He was a life member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club and the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a member of Potomac Lodge #100 A.F. and A.M. Scottish Rite, Ali Ghan Shrine Club, F.O.P. Lodge #40 and the Cumberland Eagles.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Rosalie A. (Bennett) Mullenax; one daughter, Linda E. Dziuk and husband LeRoy; three sons, Richard D. Mullenax and wife Fran, Roger W. Mullenax and friend Sherri Lambert, Calvin E. Mullenax and wife Patty, all of Flintstone; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six sisters; two brothers; and his mother-in-law, Grethel Bennett.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Potomac Lodge #100 A.F. and A.M. will conduct a memorial service Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Dixon, Bradley Mullenax, Richard Mullenax, Jamie Bridges, Marty Mallow and Eric Tippen.
MARY ELIZABETH "LIBBY" BRINKER SMITH
CUMBERLAND -- Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Brinker Smith, 89, of Cumberland, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Oct. 3, 1911, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Henrey and Edith (Kraus) Rudolph. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Regis X. Brinker in 1981; her second husband, W. Clay Smith in 1997; and two brothers, Charles and William Rudolph.
Libby was a homemaker, an employee of Footers Dye Works, and Celanese, before her marriage. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the church choir, and the church sodality, the Mother's Club, Catholic Daughters of America, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Surviving are one daughter, Blanche "Billie" Mahaney and husband Ralph E. "Skip" Mahaney Jr., Kensington; two sons, Robert R. "Bob" Brinker and wife Glenna, Hendersonville, N.C., Raymond F. "Ray" Brinker and wife Dianne, Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Bertha Morey, Cumberland; several nieces and nephews, two of whom are very special, Dr. Rita Brinker and Victoria Moreland; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

NAPLES, Fla. -- Mary A. Malamphy, 97, of Naples, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Manor Care Lady Palms Nursing Home, Naples.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 9 a.m.
Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

WALTER S. GATRELL
CUMBERLAND -- Walter S. Gatrell, 90, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born on Jan. 20, 1911, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Charles William and Bessie Donna (Stanley) Gatrell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth B. Gatrell.
Mr. Gatrell was a retired supervisor for the Celanese Corporation with 46 1/2 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Mountain Amateur Radio Club for 50 years.
Surviving are his sister, Wilma Frick, LaVale; special nephew, Robert Ricker and wife Pat, Cumberland; and several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn Capacchione officiating.
