OLIVIA J. METTLER
Olivia J. Mettler, 87, Oakland, formerly of Garden City, S.C., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Aug. 4, 1912, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha M. (Barrett) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Percy B. Mettler, in 1999.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Surfside Beach, S.C.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie M. Clever, Oakland; one son, Kenneth W. Mettler, Homewood, Ill.; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Saturday, Feb. 12, with the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, D.C.

DOROTHY H. JUNKINS
Dorothy H. Junkins, 76, Elk Garden, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Keyser, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late John Theodore and Ida Pearl (Davey) Haines. She was also preceded in death by two children in infancy, and two brothers, Junior R. Haines and Theodore Maxwell Haines.
She was a member of the Sulphur (W.Va.) United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Earl Junkins; three sons, Paul D. Howdyshell Jr., Shallmar, Michael D. Howdyshell, San Antonio, Texas, and Ronald R. Junkins, Hartmansville, W.Va.; one sister, Thelma Smith, Keyser; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser. A service was conducted at the Sulphur United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 14, with the Rev. Charles Arnold and the Rev. Glenn Hemrick officiating. Interment was in the Nethkin Hill Cemetery, Elk Garden.
PAUL V. CLARY
Paul V. Clary, 57, Center Township, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Deer Park, he was a son of Dwight and Helen (Timmerman) Clary.
He was a 1960 graduate of Southern Garrett High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was later employed as a signalman with the B&O Railroad, and recently retired from the Conway Conrail Railyard as an engineer. He was a member of the Oak Hill Veterans Association, Daugherty Township, Pa.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Sutton, Center Township; three brothers, Ron Clary, Baltimore, and Curtis Clary and Mike Clary, both of Deep Creek Lake; three sisters, Janet Farley, Sebring, Ohio, and Margie Gnegy and Darlene Clary, both of Deep Creek Lake; and two grandsons.
Friends were received at the Simpson Funeral Home, Monaca, Pa., where a service was conducted Monday, Feb. 1, with the Rev. Franklin Hallman officiating. Interment was private.
LARRY L. BROWN
Larry L. Brown, 59, Dayton, formerly of Terra Alta, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Howard County Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warden and Mondell Brown, one brother, and one sister.
He was employed as supervisor at SW Barrack and Sons, Laurel.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Brown; one son, Kevin Brown, Dayton; two brothers, Eddie Brown, Oakland, and George Brown, Sykesville; and five sisters, Katherine Wotring, Clarksville, Mary Johnston and Linda White, both of Baltimore, Mildred O'Haver, Oakland, and Ima Thomas, Terra Alta.

TERRENCE S. GALICA
Terrence Stephen "Yogi" Galica, 42, Centreville, Va., formerly of Avilton, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Born July 16, 1957, in Connellsville, Pa., he was a son of John S. and Virginia (Fike) Galica, Avilton.
He was Catholic by faith. He was a 1975 graduate of Northern High School, Accident, and was an AA leadman with Metro Rail, Washington, D.C. He was a member of the AFSCME Transit Union. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served aboard the carrier USS John F. Kennedy, and on the maiden voyage of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Deborah Crumbliss, Centreville; one daughter, Regina Dawn Galica, Middletown; and two brothers, Thomas J. Galica, Albuquerque, N.M., and Timothy W. Galica, Avilton.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. The Rosary was recited Monday evening at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as celebrant. Interment was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avilton.

RUTH H. ROUNDS
Ruth H. Rounds, 71, Swanton, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born March 5, 1928, in Swanton, she was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Etta C. "Kate" (Fitzwater) O'Brien. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orville R. Rounds, in 1999, and by five brothers, Holland O'Brien, Fred O'Brien, Gerald O'Brien, Donald E. "Bill" O'Brien, and Lambert O'Brien.
She was a member of the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Delores R. Baker, Canton, Ohio; two sons, Wayne A. Rounds, Oakland, and David L. Rounds, Swanton; four sisters, Alverta M. Burke and Mary E. Nolte, both of Canton, Louse V. King, Deer Park, and Leona K. Tettenburn, Keyser; one brother, John Marshall O'Brien, Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ANNA JOHNSON
Anna (Vitez) Johnson, 95, Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Mill Run, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000.
Born Aug. 8, 1904, she grew up on Mill Run and spent her adult life in Uniontown, Pa., and Cleveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Johnson; one grandchild; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, John G. Lemon; one daughter, Sandra Cunningham; one brother, Harry Vitez; five sisters, Mary Crozier, Peg Hurley, Jessie Sines, Leona Ross, and Elsie Vitez; seven grand-children; seven great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the NicolWells-Kloss Funeral Home, Lyndhurst, Va. A memorial service was conducted at the Nottingham United Methodist Church, Cleveland, on Friday, Jan. 21, with the Rev. Debbie Gibbons. Interment was in the Whitehaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
MILDRED A. ROBINSON
Mildred A. Robinson, 92, Keyser, W.Va., and more recently a resident of Heartland of Keyser, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the nursing home.
Born June 7, 1907, in Reynolds, she was a daughter of the late Oliver O. and Ida (Reed) Moyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A.K. "Link" Robinson, in 1989; one brother; two sisters; and one granddaughter. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a 1924 graduate of Barton High School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Keyser, and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda S. Robinson and Celene Trickett, both of Oakland; one son, James Robinson, Keyser; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, where a service was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 15, with the Rev. Sue Culbertson Jarrett and the Rev. Jay P. West Jr. officiating. Interment was in the Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser.
ROBERT W. STEMPLE
Robert W. "Gussie" Stemple, 89, Oakland, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Dec. 24, 1910, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Grover C. and Nelle (Workman) Stemple. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Hoye) Nordeck Stemple; two brothers, Richard E. Stemple, and Donald C. Stemple.
He was a graduate of the Oakland public school system, Potomac State College, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a master's degree in social work in 1942. He was a charter member of Boy Scout Troop #1 of Oakland, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees and ministries. He also was a member and past president of the Oakland-Mtn. Lake Park Lions Club. During his professional career, which began in 1936, he served as s case worker for the Garrett County Welfare Board, and then with the board in Annapolis, followed by a position as supervisor of the Welfare Board of Allegany County. He resigned that position to serve with the American Red Cross as a field director with the 8th Infantry Division and the 101st Airborne Division. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-45, at which time he took a position as a public welfare officer with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, serving in Germany and Japan until 1951. He then became director of the Garrett County Department of Social Services, where he remained until his retirement in 1973.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Jeri L. Kahl; one brother, William Stemple, Sarasota, Fla.; and one step-granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted earlier today, Feb. 17, with the Rev. Dr. Lawrence Sherwood officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
Military rites were accorded at the cemetery by members of the local veterans organizations.

OWEN P. KITZMILLER
Owen Parks Kitzmiller, 56, Petersburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 14, 1943, in Keyser, W.Va., he was a son of Mary Elizabeth (Parks) Kitzmiller, a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, and the late Melvin Boyd Kitzmiller.
He was a graduate of Bayard (W.Va.) High School, class of 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a Sergeant E-4 at the time of his discharge. He graduated from Jet Aircraft Mechanic School, T-38A Aircraft School, and the Spartan School of Aeronautics, all with honors.
He was a heavy equipment operator in the mining industry for Allison Engineering at Mt. Storm, W.Va., for several years. He worked for many years in the field of aeronautics before returning to Petersburg in 1973. He was employed for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor at Adell Polymers, Inc., Petersburg. He was a member of the North Mill Creek Baptist Church, Dorcas, W.Va., where he taught the Middle Adult Sunday School Class for many years, and was currently the Senior High Sunday School Class teacher.
He was a member of American Legion Post 78, Petersburg; Senior Warden of Petersburg Masonic Lodge 145; and was 32nd Degree of the Scottish-Rite Mason of W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, Karen (Brown) Kitzmiller, whom he married Dec. 15, 1974; one daughter, Tamara (Kitzmiller) Western, Petersburg; one sister, Shirley M. Whitmer, Oakland; one brother, Gary Douglas Kitzmiller, Mt. Storm, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg. A service was conducted at the Petersburg First Baptist Church earlier today, Feb. 17, with the Rev. Paul Donaldson officiating. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, where graveside rites were accorded by members of the Grant County Combined Veterans Organization.
