FROSTBURG -- Mary O. Muir, 92, of Bowery Street, Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on June 17, 1908, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Estelle (Cameron) Cessna. She was also preceded in death her husband, James E. Muir, and one daughter, Catherine Muir.
Mrs. Muir was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Church, Frostburg.
Mrs. Muir is survived by one son, James Muir and wife Lois, Frostburg; six daughters, Estelle (Duzy) Roth and husband Charles, Baltimore, Dorothy Della Valle and husband Bob, Florida, Jean Edmunds and husband Tad, Baltimore, Mary Jane Langenbauch, Baltimore, Frances Snyder and husband Bill, Baltimore, Nancy Scott and husband Bill, Ridgeley, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren; and many great and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Father Ian C. Thomson officiating.
Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.
FREDA C. EAGAN
FROSTBURG -- Freda Cecelia Eagan, 83, of Mount Savage Road, N.W., Frostburg, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at the Cumberland Villa Nursing Center.
Born March 12, 1918 in Morantown, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (Perrillo) Via. Mrs. Eagan was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, Frank, and Albert Via; and two sisters, Nancy Garritano and Sue Via.
Mrs. Eagan was a retired clerk from the former G.C. Murphy Company. She was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and the Sodality.
Mrs. Eagan is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Donlon Eagan; one brother, Arthur Via and wife Genny, Daytona Beach, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews in Ohio and Fla.; three special nephews, James Via and wife Janice, Sardis, Ohio, Albert Via, LaVale, and Michael Via, Morantown; and two special nieces, April Via, Morantown, and Valerie Via, LaVale, and Donna Tyree, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery, Frostburg.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Cullen, Jamie Cullen, Albert Via, John Eagan and Charles "Gary" Eagan. Honorary pallbearers will be John Roland, Tim Cullen, Francis Cullen and Gary Eagan Sr.
EDNA E. MICHAEL
FROSTBURG -- Edna E. Michael, 85, formerly of Frostburg and Cumberland, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Magnolia Hall Nursing Home, Chestertown.
Born on May 10, 1916, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Mary E. (Sigler) Lakin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Michael in 1962.
Mrs. Michael was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ, Frostburg.
Surviving are one son, Glen Michael, Chestertown; three daughters, Martha Gilbar and husband Douglas, Norfolk, Va., Mary Freeman and husband Ron, Friendsville, Pa., and Wanda Michael, Derry, N.H.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Stup, Walkersville, Catherine Conway, Walkersville, and Mary Margaret Clark, Thurmont; and one brother, Charles Lakin, Frederick.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William B. Shrout Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

FROSTBURG -- Charles Leo Westfall, 71, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 9, 1930 in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Frank F. and Margaret L. Westfall. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lana Smith and one brother, Glenn Richard Westfall.
He was a retired automobile technician and truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Wolford and husband Harry, Frostburg, Karen S. Burton, Cumberland, Joyce M. Westfall, Frostburg, Vicky Westfall, Jensen Beach, Fla., Cheryl R. Lindner and husband Bryan, Cumberland; one son, Larry Leo Westfall, LaVale; one sister, Dee Ann Stotler and husband Larry, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two brothers, Franklin Eugene Westfall, Cumberland, Bernard William Westfall, Mount Savage; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Wellings officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
RUTH "BILLIE" ZELLER
CUMBERLAND -- Ruth "Billie" Zeller, 80, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1920 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Conner) Molinari. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman "Bill" Zeller, Sept. 20, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Asher and husband Don, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Debbie Basilio and husband Gene, Orange Park, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michael Guthrie and wife Linda, Deann Guthrie, Laura Basilio and Jennie Basilio; three great-grandchildren, Traea, Matthew and Lexi Guthrie; a cousin, who was raised like a sister, Jennie Romine, Cumberland and her loving companion, Missy.
At Mrs. Zeller's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Her body was cremated at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. Crematorium.
Inurnment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
