ALICE A. JUNKINS
KEYSER, W.Va. -- Alice Arbutus Junkins, 68, of 1355 Terri Street, Keyser, died on Friday, June 8, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Moorefield, on March 23, 1933, she was the daughter of Mabel (Reel) Crites Biser of New Creek and the late Harry Paige Crites. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy L. Paugh.
Mrs. Junkins was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, former Sunday school teacher & children's choir Director, United Methodist Women, the Administrative Board and Adult Social Chairperson.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Mabel Biser, is her husband, Charles W. Junkins, Sr.; her four sons, Dale Crites and wife Karen, of Keyser, Barry Crites of Inwood, W.Va., Charles Junkins, Jr. and Curtis Junkins and wife Laura both of Keyser; her daughter, Bonnie Crites, of Keyser; her two brothers, Ludwick "Lou" Crites of New Creek and Paige Crites of Rawlings, MD; her three sisters, Elva Mercer of Youngstown, Ohio, Kate Berg and Dorothy Barrick both of Keyser and her eight grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church, 32 N. Davis Street, Keyser, on Monday, June 11, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 232, Keyser, WV 26726.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
MAXINE S. PETERS
CUMBERLAND -- Maxine S. Peters, 85, of 14804 N. Bel Air Drive, SW, Cumberland, was born in Erwin, W.Va., on April 23, 1916, and died on Wednesday, June 6, 2001.
She was the daughter of the late Willis O. Shay and Josephine White Shay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russel Hale Peters; two sisters, Agatha Shay and Willisa Shay Layton; and a brother, Samuel N. Shay.
Mrs. Peters was an active member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a weaver and a musician.
Surviving are two sons, David R. Peters and his wife Harriet of Hurricane, W.Va., and Josephine N. Peters and wife Sheila of Oaks, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Shay Keller of Keyser, W.Va.; and one brother, Mr. Willis O. Shay Jr. of Hilton Head, S.C. Mrs. Peters also had four grandchildren, Scott and Benjamin Peters and JoMarie and Christopher Peters.
Friends will be received by the family at the Centre Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 10 a.m.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow starting at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd McCanna officiating.
The Hafer Funeral Home, P.A., is in charge of the arrangements.
Inurnment will follow in Terra Alta Cemetery, Terra Alta, W.Va.

ELEANOR V. DORSEY
CORRIGANVILLE -- Eleanor V. Layman Dorsey, 68, of Corriganville, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1932, in Cumberland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin H. Dorsey Sr. on April 28, 1993; one sister, Nan Boetcher; and three brothers, Willard, Kenneth and Frank Wisenburg.
Mrs. Dorsey was a homemaker and a former drapery maker in Cumberland.
Surviving are two sons, Benjamin H. Dorsey Jr. and wife Jeanie, Bryan, Ohio, and Ralph W. Layman and wife Karen, Severn; two daughters, Donna G. Johnson, Corriganville, and April Adams and husband Jack, Baltimore; two step-sisters; one step-brother; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 12 noon with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Pallbearers will be Jim Robertson, Earl Johnson Jr., Ralph Layman Jr., Eric Johnson, Lynn Johnson and Earl Johnson III.
GARLAND W. "G.W." LAMP
SHORT GAP, W.Va. -- Garland W. "G.W." Lamp, 86, of Knobley Road, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at New Hope Personal Care Home, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 26, 1914 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Madison and Bettie (Wood) Lamp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Elizabeth (Hartman) Lamp. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Lamp was a trainman for the B&O Railroad. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are one son, James G. Lamp and wife Karen, Martinsburg; two grandchildren, Jami L. Lamp, Jon G. Lamp and wife Lisa and special friends who helped care for him, Paul and Ann Powell, Short Gap.
At Mr. Lamp's request there will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be private.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.
Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., is handling the arrangements.
HELEN C. (SHUCK) JENKINS
MOSCOW -- Helen C. (Shuck) Jenkins, 76, of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of Moscow, died June 5, 2001, at the Egle Nursing Home. She had been a patient since Aug. 2000.
Born at Westernport, on Sept. 2, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John Conrad Shuck and Cecelia (Healy) Shuck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith Jenkins Sr., July 13, 1987; three brothers, Vincent C. Shuck, Edward J. Shuck, and Leo C. Shuck; and one sister, Mary Arnold.
She was co-owner of Jenkins Tavern and Grocery, member of St. Gabriels Catholic Church, Barton, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Barton, American Legion Post 189, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Keyser, Barton Alumni Association, and a graduate of Barton High School, 1943.
Surviving are her children, Robert S. Jenkins Jr., Hoffman, James C. Jenkins, Cumberland, Raymond E. Jenkins, Jacksonville, Fla., Vincent C. Jenkins, Midway Park, N.C., Marjorie Kimble Miller, Norfolk, Va., and Kathy A. Miller, Lonaconing; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Shuck, Cresaptown; 19 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Jenkins donated her body to Maryland Anatomical Board.
A memorial service will be held at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Friday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Leslie Miles officiating.
Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to service time.
Inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions maybe sent to Georges Creek Ambulance Service, Lonaconing.
EDWARD F. WILSON
CUMBERLAND -- Edward Francis Wilson, 80, of Cumberland formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday June 5, 2001, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born July 25, 1920 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Edward Perrin and Leona M. (Wilson) Wilson.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Hamrick) Wilson, on March 4, 2001.
Mr. Wilson was a 1941 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He was retired from CSX Transportation, where he had been a railway clerk. Mr. Wilson was a member of Lodge 2266, B.P.O.E., Glen Burnie. He was Methodist by faith.
Surviving is his sister, Blanche Comer and husband Albert, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lowell Garland officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
