VIOLET N. CAMPBELL
Violet N. Campbell, 86, Westernport, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born April 20, 1913, in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Colfax and Vernie (Groves) DeWitt. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Randall; her second husband, Aden M. Campbell; and one brother, Warren P. DeWitt.
She was a 1931 graduate of Oakland High School, a graduate of Catherman's Business School, Cumberland, and a retired secretary and bookkeeper from the Marsh Contracting Company. She was a member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren, where she served as a past president of the Women's Fellowship. She was also a past board member and clerk for the church. She was a past president of the former Western Maryland District Women's Fellowship and was a member of the Bloomington and Tri-Towns Senior Citizens.
Survivors include one adopted sister, Ruth Brothers, Westminster; and an adopted daughter, Doris Ann Whaley, Hollidaysburg, Pa.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was conducted earlier today, Feb. 10, with the Rev. Ervin Huston officiating. Interment was in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
ALPHONSUS D. WEIMER
Alphonsus Duane Weimer, 80, Lonaconing (Garrett County), died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at his home.
Born April 5, 1919, in Avilton, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Sarah C. (Chaney) Weimer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Colleen V. (Donius) Weimer, on July 12, 1993.
He was a retired farmer and was a member of St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton.
Survivors include five sons, George E. Weimer, Daniel D. Weimer, and John A. Weimer, all of Avilton, Michael A. Weimer, Salisbury, Pa., and Gerald E. Weimer, Berlin, Pa.; three daughters, Linda S. Clark, Hollywood, Margaret E. Beeman, Avilton, and Patricia A. Coberly, Meyersdale, Pa.; one brother. Stanley Weimer, Meyersdale; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where the Rosary was recited Wednesday afternoon. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann's Shrine earlier today, Feb. 10, with the Rev. William Moody as celebrant. Interment was in St. Ann's Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Garrett County.
GENEVIEVE E. LUCAS
Genevieve Elizabeth Lucas, 73, Oakland, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Nov. 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Sarauskas) Vastunas.
She retired after 20 years of service with Bell Telephone and AT&T. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oakland.
Survivors include her husband, Adam J. Lucas Sr.; two sons, Adam J. Lucas Jr., Oakland, and Paul W. Lucas, Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Barbara J. Lucas, Oakland, and Jeanine S. Bachtel, Grantsville; one brother, Joseph Vastunas, Raleigh, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated earlier today, Feb. 10, with the Rev. Father Martin Feild as celebrant. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

Vivian E. Ball, 81, Oakland, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted earlier today, Feb. 10, with the Rev. David Moon officiating. Interment was in the Texas Cemetery, Horse Shoe Run, W.Va.
ROBERT M. STAHL
Robert M. Stahl, 58, Terra Alta, W.Va., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at his home.
Born in Terra Alta, he was a son of the late Marvin Elwood and Sylvia May (McCumber) Titchenell. He was also preceded in death by one grandson.
He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, Terra Alta, and was a retired iron worker.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. (Dill) Stahl; two sons, Robert E. Stahl, Baltimore, and Melvin L. Stahl, Southern Mesa, Ariz.; four daughters, Margaret Stemple, Oakland, Betty Jean Shelburg, Council Bluff, Iowa, Linda Sines, Terra Alta, and Mary Ann Sistrunk, Bellingham, Wash.; three sisters, Ermal Rumer and Sylvia House, both of Oakland, and Lanta Joyce Mathers, Baltimore; and nine grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, where a service was conducted at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 10, with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Terra Alta.
HARLEY O. DETRICK
Harley Olen Detrick, 83, Springs, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 9, 1916, in Bittinger, he was a son of the late Dennis and Harriett (Beachy) Detrick. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer, Harry, Arthur, Delbert, Clayford, and Raymond Detrick, and four sisters, Verna Detrick, Leona Detrick, Ruth Duckworth, and Grace Simmons.
He retired after 33 years as a kilnman for Otto Brick & Tile Works. He was a member of Springs Mennonite Church and was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bittinger. He was a 55year member of Woodmen of the World, Camp 68, Bittinger.
Survivors include his wife, B. Lucille (Maust) Detrick; two sons, Roger Detrick, Lexington Park, and Kenneth Detrick, Springs; two daughters, Barbara Brown, Longwood, Fla., and Harriet Berg, Hidden Valley, Pa.; one brother, Ralph Detrick, Uniontown, Pa.; one sister, Miriam Hummel, Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted at the Springs Mennonite Church on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment will follow in the Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.

FLOYD D. DUCKWORTH
Floyd Daniel Duckworth, 67, Eckhart, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1932, in Loartown, he was a son of Martha (Jewell) Duckworth, a resident of the Egle Nursing Home in Lonaconing, and the late Dewey Duckworth.
He was a part-time driver for the Konica Film Company, Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Vale Summit United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy (Johnson) Duckworth; four daughters, Terry Ann Deffenbaugh, LaVale, Pam Linaburg, Cumberland, Sonya K. Filer, Midlothian, and Karen R. McKenzie, Cumberland; two stepchildren, Tracy L. Watkins, Grantsville, and David Harris, Springfield, W.Va.; two sisters, Bernadine Coleman, Eckhart, and Lorrainne Judy, Cresaptown; one brother, William Duckworth, Loartown; and nine grand-children.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Farrady Post #24 American Legion Honor Guard will accord military honors at the cemetery.
VERONICA K. DELANEY
Veronica K. Delaney, 84, Frostburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 2, 1915, in Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Nellie May (Klosterman) Shuck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Delaney; one daughter, Mary; two sons, Maurice and Paul; eight brothers; and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Sodality, and Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary to Farrady Unit #24.
Surviving are two sons, William J. Delaney, Hagerstown, and Edward Delaney, Frostburg; two daughters, Ann Walker, Issue, and Dorothy Kay Beachy, Grantsville; 14 grand-children; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Father William E. Moody as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
STANLEY E. WEIMER
Stanley Edward Weimer, 99, Meyersdale, Pa., formerly of Avilton, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare, Meyersdale.
Born Feb. 9, 1901, in Avilton, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Sarah C. (Chaney) Weimer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Hoye) Weimer. His only surviving sibling, Alphonsus Weimer, died Monday, Feb. 7.
He was a retired farmer and coal miner, and was foreman of the Broken Heart Coal Mine. He was a member of St. Ann's Shrine, Avilton.
Survivors include five sons, Stanley L. Weimer, Gettysburg, Pa., Joseph Weimer, Cumberland, Robert Weimer, Baltimore, Ronald Weimer, Frostburg, and Thomas Weimer, Avilton; three daughters, Mary T. Brannon, Mount Savage, Doris Pope, Salisbury, Pa., and Helen Miller, Meyersdale; 30 grand-children; and 35 great-grand-children.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 3:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 12, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Ann's Shrine, with the Rev. Bernard White as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
MARY J. DEWITT
Mary Jane DeWitt, 86, Oakland, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at her home.
Born Aug. 11, 1913, in Oakland, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. Porter Sr. and Susie (Littman) Porter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, H. Robert DeWitt, in 1995.
She was a retired school teacher and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, George Porter, Oakland, and one sister, Susanna Santelmann, Stillwater, Okla.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Sunday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. Roger A. Harrison and the Rev. Ann W. Harrison officiating.
Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.

CLAUDE M. WILBURN
Claude Marvin Wilburn, 67, Grantsville, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 1, 1932, in Jennings, he was the son of Amanda (Wilt) Wilburn, Grantsville, and the late Walter Wilburn. He was also preceded in death by one son, David Wilburn; one brother, Stewart Wilburn; and one grandson.
He was a retired laborer for the Garrett County Roads Department.
Surviving are his wife, Goldie C. (Wilt) Wilburn; one son, Michael Wilburn, Grantsville; four daughters, Mary Beckman, Swanton, Connie Wilt and Brenda Wilt, both of Grantsville, and Karen Beitzel, Hagerstown; and eight grandchildren.
