DOROTHY M. AVEY
RAWLINGS - Dorothy M. Avey, 93, of the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, Keyser, W.Va., formerly of 23671 McMullen Highway, Rawlings, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born on May 22, 1906, in Sherwood, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Emil Mohley and Ada (Miller) Mohley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur S. "Jack" Avey, on May 24, 1979; one brother, Melbern Mohley; and one sister, Lelah Saunders.
Mrs. Avey was a homemaker, and a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Marvin "Jack" Avey and wife Virginia, Keyser, Emil "Jim" Avey, Parsons, Miles "Joe" Avey, Rawlings; two daughters, Mary Lou Bane and husband Bill, and Judy Arnold and husband Wayne, all of Keyser; one brother, Elwood Mohley and wife Mary Katherine, Sherwood, Ohio; four granddaughters, Ellen Barr and husband Bob, Canonsburg, Pa., Rhonda Bailey and husband Richard, Seattle, Wash., Kelly Biggs and husband Jon, Eldersburg, and Nancy Sheets and husband Joe, Morgantown, W.Va.; six grandsons, Mark Avey, Joe Bane and wife Peggy, Mike Bane and Pat Bane, all of Keyser, Steve Arnold and wife Jennifer, Hagerstown, and Scott Arnold, Keyser; nine great-grandchildren, Krysti Himmerick, Lori Ann Stewart, Robin Barr, Erin Barr, Victoria Bailey, Jesse Bane, Joshua Bane, Naomi E. Bane and Katelyn Biggs; and six great-great-grandchildren, John D. Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Tyler Himmerick, Lucas Himmerick, MacKenzie M. Stewart and Morgann L. Stewart.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sue Culbertson Jarrett officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

MILTON N. CROWE
ECKHART - Milton Nelson Crowe, 78, of Eckhart, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1920, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Fred Crowe and Edith (Crump) Crowe. He also was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Ralph Crowe; and sisters Catherine Crowe and Edith Rosso.
Mr. Crowe was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater. He was a retired Celanese employee and was a member of the Frostburg Presbyterian Church, Farrady Post 24 American Legion, and Beall High School Class of 1940.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Alice (Wright) Crowe; a son, James M. Crowe and wife Karen, Havre de Grace; a daughter, Nancy Donius and husband Gary, Severna Park; and two grandchildren, Christopher Crowe and Ashley Crowe, Havre de Grace.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery,
MILTON N. CROWE
ECKHART - Milton Nelson Crowe, 78, of Eckhart, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post 24.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Koontz, Melvin Duckworth and nephews John Hanna, John Wright, Steven Wright and Rick Wright.
ANNA A. CALLAHAN
CUMBERLAND - Anna Agnes Callahan, 87, of Irene Drive N.E., Cumberland, and the Kensington-Algonquin, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1912, in Simpson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Patrick McGraw and the late Mary Margaret (Bahen) McGraw. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John James Callahan in 1987; three brothers, Edward B. McGraw, Francis McGraw, John J. McGraw; and one sister, Julia Becker.
Mrs. Callahan was a retired secretary for Ankeney's Office Equipment Company. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sodality of the church, Catholic Daughters, Women's Civic Club, Sacred Heart Auxiliary and Volunteer at the hospital.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Helen McGraw, Cumberland, and Jean McGraw, Owings Mills; two nephews, Timothy McGraw, Cumberland, and John McGraw, Reisterstown; and one niece, Kathleen McIlvanie, Ukraine.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
RAYMOND W. BITTINGER SR.
LONACONING - Raymond W. Bittinger Sr., 89, of the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of Route 36 North, Lonaconing, and of Hancock, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the nursing home where he was a resident since January 1999.
Born March 3, 1910, in Jennings, Garrett County, he was a son of the late Jacob Bittinger and Elizabeth (Hoover) Bittinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Marie (Cutter) Bittinger, on June 9, 1986; and one son, Melvin W. Bittinger, January 1999.
Mr. Bittinger was retired from Celanese Fibers Corporation with 34 years' service. He attended Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lonaconing.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond W. Bittinger Jr., Cumberland, John C. Bittinger, Hancock, and Paul D. Bittinger, Hancock; one sister, Lula Brown, Hancock; nine grandchild; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Friday, March 19, 1999, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, March 20, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
MARY N. BENNETT
OAKLAND - Mary Naylor Bennett, age 63, of 102 S. Fourth St., Oakland, died on Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at her home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Wheeling, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Homer L. Bennett Sr. and Mary Drake (Naylor) Bennett. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Homer L. "Ben"Bennett.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Garrett County Historical Society, the 125 Liberty Club, and the Oakland Civic Club.
She is survived by five nephews, Drake Bennett, Southlake, Texas, Geoffrey Bennett, Streamwood, Ill., Crane Bennett, Park City, Utah, Nelson Bennett, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Lewis Bennett, Fort Collins, Colo.; and numerous cousins.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

GLADYS L. BARTHOLOMEW
FRIENDSVILLE - Gladys Lorene "Rene" Bartholomew, 78, of Friendsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born March 27, 1921, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (Thomas) Frazee. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Foster and Wade Frazee.
Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of Friendsville United Methodist Church and was retired after 27 years service as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar S. Bartholomew; three sisters, Bea Miller, Oakland, Helen Lowdermilk, Perry Hall, and Dorothy Livengood, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Friendsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Schofield officiating.
Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
