DONALD M. BOGGS
CUMBERLAND - Donald M. Boggs, 73, of 12028 Bedford Road, NE, Cumberland, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999.
Born Oct. 18, 1925, in Oldtown, he was the son of the late James Boggs and the late Tacy (Robinette) Boggs. He also was preceded in death by his wife, U. Pauline (Shryock) Boggs; three brothers, Ralph, Gerald and Sylvester Boggs; and a sister, Dolly Humbertson.
Mr. Boggs was a retired license examiner for the Maryland Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Glen Burnie. He was a former City of Cumberland Police Dept. Desk Sergeant. He was a member of the Clifford B. Sisler Post 9451 VFW, Oldtown.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with Co. "I", 508th Parachute Infantry.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy D. Post and husband Paul, Cornwall, NY; two sisters, Zetta Wallace, Cresaptown, and
Thelma Miller, Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Don Post and Erica Post.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Cooper officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
WILLIAM E. "BILL" CRAWFORD JR.
SWANTON - William E. "Bill"Crawford Jr., 81, of Hazelhurst Lane, Swanton, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home.
Born on Jan. 13, 1917, in San Jose, Calif., he was the son of the late William E. Crawford Sr. and Genevieve (Stroud) Crawford.
He graduated from the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University, with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He was a field engineer with the Dorr Company, a purchasing engineer with Koppers Inc., and lastly a purchasing agent with Continental Foundry and Machine Company, now the Blaw Knox Company.
He served during World War II with the U.S. Navy and retired with the rank of lieutenant commander, and was a member of Proctor Kildow Post #71, American Legion, Oakland.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Consistory in Pittsburgh, Pa., and the Ali Ghan Shrine, Cumberland. He was a member and past president of the Oakland-Mountain Lake Park Lions Club, and a member of Oakland Lodge #2471, B.P.O. Elks.
Mr. Crawford served for 16 years on the Republican State Central Committee of Garrett County and was a member of the American Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, the U.S. Naval Institute, the Navy League, the U.S. Purchasing Agents Association and the Deep Creek Yacht Club, Turkey Neck.
He is survived by his wife, Joan R. (Bielau) Crawford; two daughters, Judge Susan J. Crawford, and husband, Roger W. Higgins, Falls Church, Va., and Dr. Mikal C. Crawford and husband, Dr. John L. Lowe, Frostburg; one brother, James Blair Crawford, Indio, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Erin McLaughlin and Katie McLaughlin, both of Frostburg, and Kelley Higgins, Falls Church.
At Mr. Crawford's request his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Oakland, on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Grant and the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Inurnment of the cremains will be in the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery.
Members of Oakland Lodge #192 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service at the beginning of the service on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by members of the various veterans organizations in southern Garrett County.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the scholarship program of the Garrett Community College Foundation, P.O. Box 151, McHenry, MD 21541, or to the Wilmer Eye Institute, Low Vision Center, Johns Hopkins Medical Institution, P.O. Box 1714, Baltimore, MD 21203-1714.

VELMA B. BOGIE
FROSTBURG - Velma B. Bogie, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. and Minnie Lee (Harris) Boyce. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert O'Haver and her second husband, James Bogie.
Mrs. Bogie was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. for 28 years. She attended LaVale Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are; four brothers, Arthur Boyce and wife Martha, Aberdeen, Rev. Paul Boyce and wife Jeanne, Sweetwater, Tenn., Rev. Marvin Boyce and wife Sharon, Hagerstown, and Lourn Boyce and wife Dorothy, Clarysville; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Royce L. Boyce.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen M. Scheussler officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
BOYD T. BOHRER
CUMBERLAND - Boyd T. Bohrer, 92, formerly of the Kenzington-Algonquin, Cumberland, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born March 18, 1906, in Allegany County, he was the son of the late Howard W. Bohrer and Daisy M. (Miller) Bohrer. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora May (Moore) Bohrer, on Sept. 13, 1987.
Mr. Bohrer was a maintenance man at Eastside Elementary School, retiring in 1972 with 24 years of service. He also was employed at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. and the Celanese Corp. in Cumberland. He attended Central Assembly of God.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Erma B. Bechtol and husband Neil, Fairfield, Pa., and Sandra V. Benfield, Charlotte, N.C.; one stepson, James E. Davis and wife Emma Jean, Front Royal, Va.; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; four nieces; and three nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert A. Hymes officiating.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
NELLIE N. CLISE
MIDLAND - Nellie N. Clise, 89, of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of 14500 Flint Road, S.W., Midland, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 7, 1909, in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Patrick Nelson and Margaret (Buskirk) Nelson. Mrs. Clise was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Clise, on Feb. 26, 1980; and two sons, Glen Don Clise and Richard William Clise.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LaVale.
Surviving are four children, Alma Leah Wishard, Hagerstown, Alvin Dale Clise, Linda Lou Cutter, and Nellie Ann Lease, all of Midland; one sister, Rosaline Stephen, Frostburg; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday, March 22, 1999, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. with Bishop Steve Grow officiating, L. Lynn Olson will speak, and the Relief Society will sing.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.

CUMBERLAND - Jack Dale Cage Jr., beloved husband of the late Ellen G. Cage, son of Jack Dale Cage Sr. and Mary Margaret (Easton) Cage Grimes, was born on April 6, 1935, in Cumberland. He died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at his residence on North Mechanic Street.
On October 9, 1953, Jack was united in marriage with Ellen Genevieve McKnight at the Centre Street Methodist Church. To this union, two daughters and one son were born. While in Cumberland, Jack was employed by the Celanese Corp. The family moved to Baltimore in 1968 where Jack worked for Bethlehem Steel. In later years, he worked for Custom Kit Pak Corp. and then for the McKesson Corp. from which he recently retired. He moved back to Cumberland just two weeks ago.
Jack received his education at LaVale Elementary and Allegany High School. He was a United Methodist by faith and in earlier years was a member of Park Place Methodist Church in LaVale.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Don Michael Cage, daughter, Dawn Michele Cage, and granddaughter, Jessica Marie Cage, all of Baltimore; brother, Rick Cage, Cumberland; sister, Pat Reneau, and brother-in-law, Jim Reneau, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; step-father, James J. Grimes; aunts, Juanita Delaney, Greenbelt, and Frances George, Cumberland; and nieces, nephews and cousins including Skip Cramer of Cumberland.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Donna Marie Cage in 1986, and his wife, Ellen, on February 14, 1999.
Friends were received at the Loudon Park Funeral Home, 3620 Wilkins Ave., Baltimore, 695 Exit 12, on Sunday, July 18.
Funeral services were conducted there on Monday, July 19.
Interment was in the Loudon Park Cemetery.
