MARY E. BROADWATER
RAWLINGS - Mary Eleanor Broadwater, 77, of 23512 McMullen Highway, Rawlings, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born April 24, 1921, at Firm Rock, she was a daughter of the late Oliver C. and Fannie Belle (Grove) Fazenbaker.
Mrs. Broadwater was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her husband, Elbert Broadwater; a son, Elbert Broadwater Jr. and wife, Frances Ann, Rawlings; two daughters, Helena Bittinger and husband, Bernard, Frostburg, Colleen Pfaff and husband, Melvin, Williamsport; a brother, Robert Lee Fazenbaker, Cresaptown; two sisters, Leona Magruder, Barton, Bertha Miller, Westernport; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. George R. Loar.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
VERNON D. BOWSER
GRANTSVILLE - Vernon D. Bowser, 53, of 1536 Pig's Ear Road, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at his residence.
Born Dec. 7, 1946, in Confluence, Pa., he was the son of the late Ralph and Virginia (McClintock) Bowser. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Junior Bowser.
Mr. Bowser loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a log cutter for 35 years for Everett McClintock. He will be missed by many.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Helen F. (Hilliard) Bowser, whom he married
March 25, 1966, in Cove, Md.; one daughter, Mary Catherine Bowser and fiancé Wayne Gank; three sons, Johnny Dewight Bowser and fiancee Vickie Murdock, Richard Eugene Bowser and fiancee Stacy Dolan, and Scott Alan Bowser and fiancee Mary Hutzel, all of Grantsville; four brothers, Wilbur Bowser and wife Judy, McDonald, Pa., Richard Bowser and wife Evelyn, Morgan, Pa., Walter Bowser and wife Ruby, and Max Bowser and wife Betty, all of Grantsville; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Murdock and Christopher Alan Murdock.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Oren Bender officiating.
Interment will be in the Addison Cemetery.
DORIS M. CLOONAN
BETHANY BEACH, Del. - Doris M. Cloonan, age 70, died at her home in Bethany Beach on Saturday, May 1, 1999.
A native of Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of Isabel Dawson. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin L. Cloonan, in 1973.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas L. Cloonan, Bethany Beach; two daughters, Karen C. Horner, Chance, Md., and Anne C. Wright, Salisbury, Md.; two granddaughters; and one grandson, all of Salisbury.
Doris was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1946, in Cumberland. She was a faithful Mother and homemaker. Upon their retirement, Mrs. Cloonan and her husband resided in Princess Anne, Md., and later in Bethany Beach.
Services will be private

RICHARD F. BOYLE
CUMBERLAND - Richard Francis Boyle, 76, of 604 A Frederick St., Cumberland, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, shortly after arrival.
Born March 23, 1923, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Richard Joseph Boyle and Mildred Izora (Mouse) Boyle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. (Geatz) Boyle, on Dec. 27, 1997.
Mr. Boyle was a graduate of LaSalle High School. He was a retired truck patrolman for the Maryland State Police. After retirement, he became the first under sheriff for the former Sheriff of Allegany County, Donald Wade. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Cumberland Council 582 Knights of Columbus. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Boyle coached J.V. basketball for LaSalle High School in the late 50's and early 60's and coached basketball for the Catholic Youth Organization for St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Robert F. Boyle and wife, Linda, Cumberland; a daughter, Patricia B. Stevens and husband, Dennis, Cumberland; a brother, James Boyle and wife, Erika, Berezon, N.Y.; a grandson, Robert B. Boyle and wife, Chelsea, LaVale; three granddaughters, Jacquelin A. Reed and husband, Brad, Ashley K. Boyle, Laura D. Stevens, all of Cumberland; and one great-grandson, Brandon J. Reed, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:45 p.m. with Deacon Frank Werner, presiding.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monday at 9 a.m. with the Fr. Vance Pastorious, O.F.M., CAP, as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

THELMA W. CAIN
CUMBERLAND - Thelma Winifred Cain, 82, of Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 26, 1916, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leonard C. and Minnie V. (Imes) Wintermoyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John I. Cain.
Mrs. Cain was a homemaker and member of Christ United Methodist Church and AARP.
Surviving are two daughters, Anna Lee Lombardi, Washington, D.C., and Bonna Truitt, Salisbury; two sons, John H. Cain and wife Diane, Cumberland, and Robert D. Cain and wife Lois, Cumberland; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

WILLIAM K. BRADY
CUMBERLAND - William "Bill" Kenneth Brady, 83, of 407 Columbia St., Cumberland, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born July 7, 1916, in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late Michael Patrick Brady and the late Mary C. (Lewis) Brady. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Elizabeth (Corfield) Brady in 1980.
Upon the decease of his father, Mr. Brady was in the custody of his grandparents, the late William and Nora (Warman) Lewis. Upon the decease of this grandfather, he was placed in an orphanage at the age of eight. At the age of twelve, he was adopted into the family of the late Lawrence Flynn. While attending school, he worked night hours in a hotel. During this training, he merited the American Hotel Certificate. Upon graduation, Mr. Brady was employed by the G.C. Murphy Company, who sent him to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh for a two-year course in decorating and design. In 1942, he resigned from the G.C. Murphy Company and was hired by Kelly-Springfield Tire Company as an experienced sign painter. He retired in 1979. He was a 50-year member of the Golden Eagle in the F.O.E. Aerie #245, U.R.W.A., the Western MD Central Labor Council A.F.L.-C.I.O. Local #26, A.A.R.P., and the Central United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his second wife, Jane L. (Collins) Brady, Cumberland; one son, James Michael Brady and wife Karen, Ridgeley, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Timothy M. Brady, Allepo, Pa., Sean C. Brady, Corriganville, and Jaime Webb, Ridgeley; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Brady, Zachary Butts and Mercedes Webb.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted there on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Dickel officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
