MOUNT SAVAGE - Rita E. Brailer, 82, formerly of 15506 Iron Rail St., Mount Savage, died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center, Frostburg.
Born Jan. 4, 1917, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late John and Jessie (Armitt) Meanyhan. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus G. Brailer, in August 1981; and two brothers, William H. Meanyhan and Donald Meanyhan.
Mrs. Brailer was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, and the Sodality.
Surviving are two sons, John William Brailer, Siler City, N.C., and E. Dennis Brailer, Mount Savage; two sisters, Annabelle Lowery, Grove City, Fla., and Margaret Pollock, Largo, Fla.; a brother, John David Meanyhan, Ormand Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Cimberly Brailer, Stephanie Reynolds, Catherine Brailer, all of North Carolina, and Adam Brailer, San Diego, Calif.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sister Joan Minella will conduct a Christian Wake service at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Milton Hipsley as Celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat King, Jim King, Mike King, Jim Bohn, Bill Klotz and Sam Friend.
Memorials may be directed to the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center's activities director, or to the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Department.
THOMAS J. CARTER JR.
MOUNT SAVAGE - Thomas J. 'Johns' Carter Jr., 54, formerly of Sunnyside, Mount Savage, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1945, in Sunnyside, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Carter Sr. and Dorothy (Chambers) Carter.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage.
Surviving are his estranged wife, Sharon (Anderson) Carter, Baltimore; one son, Thomas 'T.J.' Carter III and wife Addie, Baltimore; one daughter, Kimberly Carter, Baltimore; three grandchildren; five sisters, Geraldine Finzel and husband Joseph, Sykesville, Rose Ringer and husband Glenn, Corriganville, Bernadette Murray and husband Roy, Meyersdale, Pa., Jean Darnell and husband Dave, Cumberland, and Chris Booth and husband Russell, Baltimore; special friends, Phyllis Reed and John and Connie Schriner; special cousins, James and Melody Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:15 p.m.

KEVIN M. CLARK
FINZEL - Kevin Michael Clark, 34, of 1076 Finzel Rd., Finzel, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 15, 1965, in Cumberland, he was the son of Paul G. and Evelyn (Wilhelm) Clark, Finzel.
Mr. Clark was an assistant cook, along with his mother, at the Grantsville Senior Center.
He was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Pocahontas, Pa., member of the Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Company for many years, and the Arie 1273 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Frostburg.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Krista; two stepchildren, Andrew and Kaitie McKenzie; two brothers, Brian Clark, Gallup, N.M., Timothy Clark and wife, Brenda, Finzel; a sister, Julie Clark, at home; special niece and nephew, Justin Clark and Kayla Paul; maternal grandmother, Leora B. Wilhelm, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Bernard White as celebrant. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery.
Pallbearers, are all members of the fire company, will be Jim Raley, Pete Smith, Jessie Opel, Ron, Don, and Brian Gaumer.

HERBERT L. BRAMBLE
CUMBERLAND - Herbert L. Bramble, 89, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1909, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Luther S. and Hattie (Wadsworth) Bramble. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle R. Bramble; one daughter, Judith E. Scarpelli; and four brothers, Harry, Major, Arthur and Donald Bramble.
Mr. Bramble was retired from the Cumberland Times-News. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in North Africa. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of the Outdoor Club.
Surviving are his son-in-law, Joseph P. Scarpelli, Cumberland; one sister, Lillian Fairall, Cumberland; two granddaughters, Patricia A. Robertazza and husband, Tom, Canadensis, Pa., and Jodi L. Squires and husband, Matthew, Cumberland; two great-grandsons, Joshua M. Squires and Victor J. Robertazza; and two great-granddaughters, Hannah E. Squires and Elizabeth I. Robertazza.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 406 Arch St., Cumberland.
PAUL E. COLMER JR.
BARTON - Paul Ellsworth Colmer Jr., 42, of 1694 Pine Swamp Road, Barton, died Friday, April 23, 1999, near his residence.
Born Feb. 8, 1957, in Frostburg, he was a son of Eleanor Jean (Weimer) Colmer, with whom he resided, and the late Paul Ellsworth Colmer Sr., who died Feb. 5, 1999. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Tom, and a sister, Julie.
Mr. Colmer was Catholic by faith and was a farmer and logger. He graduated from Valley High School and Vo-Tech in the field of masonry and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors in addition to his mother include four brothers and spouses, Charlie and Cathy, Lonaconing, Bob, at home, Joe and Ann, Grantsville, Sam and Judy, Frederick; two sisters and spouses, Irma and Terry, Rawlings, Janet and Phil, Nikep; two stepsons and spouses, Harry and Lonnie and John and Debbie, all of Avilton; 25 nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. William Moody officiating.
Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avilton.
