MARY I. CALLIS
MT. LAKE PARK - Mary Ireta Callis, of Mt. Lake Park, died Monday Oct. 11, 1999.
Born in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Truman H. "Buck" Mosser and Nora (Specht) Mosser. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mason W. Callis, Sr., in 1994; two brothers, Dayton Mosser, and Morgan "Mike" Mosser; two sisters, Rose Mosser and Elizabeth Foster.
She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Mt. Lake Park and the Deer Park Homemakers Club. She was active in public service and community affairs doing volunteer work for the church, 4-H, Girl Scouts, Garrett County Agriculture Fair, and the Garrett County Public Schools.
Ireta was very active in the Southern Republican Womens Club were she served in many offices including President. She was active in Maryland Federation of Republican Women and served as chairman of the Western Region. In 1979, the Garrett County Republican Central Committee presented her with the Republican of the year award.
Surviving are one son, Mason W. Callis, Jr., Swanton; two daughters, Mary Ann Crowne and husband, John "Jack" Nokesville, Va., and Norma Lee DeVilbiss and husband, Curt, Stephens City, Va.; one sister, Nora Ellen Larrick and husband, Wayne, Adelphi; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Moore, officiating.
Interment will be at Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Garrett County or the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
EDITH MAYTHORNE BRENAMAN
CUMBERLAND - Edith Maythorne Brenaman, 93, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville.
Born July 14, 1906, in Jerome, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Marcus and Mary H. (Baum) Horchler. She also was preceded in death by her husband, G. Wyatt Brenaman; one brother, Freeman Horchler; and one sister, Dorothy Livingood.
Mrs. Brenaman was a graduate of the Salisbury-Elklick High School and the Catherman's Business School. She had 43 years service with the Celanese Corporation, where she was a secretary. She was a member of Saint Mark's Community Church, Ladies Shrine Club, Women's Sport Club, and charter member of Re Temple #118, Daughters of the Nile.
Surviving are one brother, Charles B. Horchler, Millersburg, Pa.; three sisters, Mary Keiffer, Harrisburg, Pa., Hazel Beever, York, Pa., and Ruth Haning, Woodstock, Ill.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Harold T. Shaffer officiating.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

AGATHA C. CAMPBELL
CUMBERLAND - Agatha "Gay" Ceceila Campbell, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born on Jan. 7, 1912, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John I. and Agnes (Maloney) Nixon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Campbell; one sister; and two brothers.
Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a devoted Catholic, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Joan Gray and Gilda Wilfong and husband Jack; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her loving sister, Melda Alderton; and loving brothers, Glendon Nixon and wife, Kass, and Bernard Nixon, all of Cumberland.
At Mrs. Campbell's request, there will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be on Monday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park, by the Rev. Milton A. Hipfley.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E. Oldtown Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.

GERALDINE G. BRIDGES
BARRELVILLE - Geraldine "Dean" Gertrude (Reed) Bridges, 78, of Reed Road, Barrelville, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at her residence.
Born Sept. 24, 1920, in Barrelville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin B. and Genieve (Kelly) Reed. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Bridges Sr.; her son, William W. Bridges Jr.; a daughter, Marlene A. Bridges; and two sisters.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by three daughters, Janice L. Harden and husband Donald, Winchester, Va., Paulette R. Weimer and husband Russell, Wellersburg, Pa., and Cindy M. Sturtz, Winchester; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Bridges was a homemaker. She was a member of the Barrelville Presbyterian Church and the Barrelville Outdoor Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Services will be conducted at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa., on Monday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roger Powell officiating.
Interment will be in St. Patrick's Church Cemetery, Mount Savage.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Sacred Heart Hospice.
TERRY A. BRIDGES
CUMBERLAND - Terry A. "Terry Lee" Bridges, 54, of 1963 Durham Drive, Cumberland, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1944, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Allen Monroe Bridges and the late Reatha Leona (Lease) Bridges. He was also preceded by a brother, Vance E. "Buddy" Bridges.
Terry's love for life gave him the unique quality of having others want to be his friend. His quick wit, consistent humor, special leadership qualities, and willingness to help others made him the beneficiary of many friends in all walks of life. These special qualities will be sadly missed by his family and community of friends.
Mr. Bridges was an employee of the City of Cumberland Water Department. He was formally employed by PPG Industries. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Goodfellowship Club, and Local AFCSCME #553.
Surviving are a wife, Mary Catherine (Spera) Bridges, Cumberland; a son, Shawn A. Bridges and wife Heather L., Crestview, Fla.; a daughter, Chi N. Izzett and husband Ed, LaVale, Md.; two sisters, Juanita L. Hill, Cresaptown, Md., and Debra A. Lancaster, Bowling Green, Cumberland, Md.; and four grandchildren, Colby Ryan Bridges and Seth Patrick Bridges, Crestview, Fla., and Leah Ashley Izzett and Maury Abagail Izzett, LaVale, Md.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William Moody and Father Vance Pastorius, O.F.M., Cap., co-celebrants.
A Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening at 9 p.m.
The family requests contributions be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit or the American Cancer Society.
