CORA M. BRYANT
CUMBERLAND - Cora Marie Bryant, 90, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Locust Grove Road, Cumberland, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 1, 1908, in Rineyville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Bebe and Lucy May Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Bryant; two brothers, Homer and Thomas Harris; and one sister, Aline McGee.
Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, Robert T. Bryant, Randallstown; two daughters, A. Louise Thomas, with whom she resided; Mary A. Stroupe and husband, George, Baltimore; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral and interment services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy McGregor officiating.
Interment will be in Howe Valley Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Ky.
KEVIN M. CLARK
FINZEL - Kevin Michael Clark, 34, of 1076 Finzel Road, Finzel, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Company will hold a memorial service at the funeral home at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernard White as celebrant. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Finzel Cemetery.
Pallbearers, all members of the fire company, will be Jim Raley, Pete Smith, Jessie Opel, Ron, Don and Brian Gaumer.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Eastern Garrett County Volunteer Fire Company, Finzel Road, Frostburg, MD 21532 or to the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service Inc., 86 W. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
TYSON BRUNNER
LAVALE - Tyson Brunner, 76, of LaVale, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 30, 1922, in Cavetown, he was the son of the late Tyson E. and Elsie (Smith) Brunner.
Mr. Brunner was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, 295th Engineers. He owned and operated Brunner's Doughnut House, Restaurant and Motel for 28 years.
He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church; Potomac Lodge 100, AF & AM; 32nd Degree, Cumberland Scottish Rite Bodies; Ali Ghan Shrine, where he belonged to the Desert Legion Unit; FOP Lodge 40; and LOOM Lodge 271, and was a life member of BPOE Lodge 63.
He was a wonderful husband and father, whose family includes his wife, Nancy (Krumpe) Brunner; three daughters, Anna Lee Milburn and husband Ray, Nancy Marie Shepherd and husband Bill, and Alice Lorraine Upole and husband Randy, all of LaVale; one brother, Ralph Brunner, Hagerstown; eight grandchildren, Ray Milburn Jr. and wife Marnie, Julie Kirby and husband Dave, Steven Milburn and wife Jeannette, Brooke Shepherd, Lee Tyson Shepherd, Courtney Shepherd, Samantha Upole and Sabrina Upole; and four great-grandchildren, David L. Kirby, Lauren Kirby, Chad Milburn and Blake Tyson Milburn.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Officers and members of Potomac Lodge 100, AF & AM, will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Ray Milburn, Bill Shepherd and Randy Upole and grandsons, Ray Milburn Jr., Steve Milburn and Lee Shepherd.
LUCILLE M. COOP
BARTON - Lucille M. Coop, 83, of the Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of Rt. 36, Barton, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born on Nov. 28, 1916, at Erwin, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Russell and Nancy J. (Shaffer) Arthur. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Coop, in 1971; a daughter, Krista Coffman; two sisters, Inez Clark and Freda Steininger.
Mrs. Coop was a retired Beautician and formerly worked at the Celanese Corp. She was Protestant by faith.
Surviving are two brothers, Hollie Arthur, of Keyser, W.Va., Carl Arthur, of Westernport; four sisters, Radie Arthur, of Westernport, Reba McDowell, of Nashville, Tenn., Claretta Dye, of Barton, and Juanita Wilson, of Westernport; and one grandson, Michael Brooks Coffman.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George McDowell, Jr., officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
WILLIAM R. BROWN
CUMBERLAND - William R. Brown, 95, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 30, 1903, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Alfonzo and Laura (Rice) Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. (Hook) Brown; two brothers; three children; and seven grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Brown retired from St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He attended Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Valley Road.
Surviving are eight daughters, Flossie Robertson, Ruth Wolfe, both of Cumberland, Helen Bulger and husband, Robert, Everett, Pa., Esther Weaver, Virginia Brown, both of Cumberland, Shirley Swaner and husband, Kenneth, Winchester, Va., Dorothy Collins and husband, George, Theresa Shroyer and husband, Ray, all of Cumberland; two sons, Roy Brown, Mount Savage, and William Brown, Cumberland; special grandson, Mike; 41 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and 57 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David F. Dayhoff officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park, Cumberland.
MILTON L. CROWE
CUMBERLAND - Milton Lee Crowe, 68, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. He died at his home surrounded by his loving family and Pastor.
Born June 19, 1931, in New Germany, he was the son of the late Samuel Webster Crowe and Melva Leora (Broadwater) Crowe. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Crowe, Owen Crowe and Archie Crowe.
Mr. Crowe was a member of the Bedford Road Baptist Church. He retired after 34 years of service from the Cumberland Coca Cola Bottling Company where he was a warehouse manager. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as a Sergeant in the Engineer Corp. He was a member of the NRA, a life member of DAV, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, and the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club. His favorite pastimes were playing his guitar and being an amateur photographer.
Mr. Crowe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sandra Lee (Twigg) Crowe; one daughter, Shelly Lee Cox and husband Randy, Newark, Del.; two sons, Danny Lee Crowe and wife Dana, Middletown, Del., and Deane Lee Crowe and wife Carey, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Dane Neal Cox, Kaylee Mae Cox, Gabriel Lee Cox, Logan Paul Crowe and Ellison Paige Crowe; three sisters, Diona Broadwater and husband Roy, Avilton, Arlene Morris and husband Pete, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Helen Broadwater and husband Forrest, Salisbury, Pa.; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Twigg, of Finzel.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Joseph DiNicola officiating.
Interment will follow in New Germany Methodist Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at graveside.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Eric Whitacre, Monty Broadwater, Ricky Broadwater, Lowell Broadwater, Keith Twigg and Allan Twigg.
