BEATRICE A. "BEA" BAER
FROSTBURG - Beatrice A. "Bea"Baer, 84, of Frostburg and of Orlando, Fla., died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1915, in Shaft, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Spiker) Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. "Teddy"Baer, in 1983; her daughter, Doris Jean Baer, at age 6; and son, Raymond Arthur Baer, deceased at age 24.
Mrs. Baer received her B.A. degree from Frostburg State University in 1962 and attended Pitt University and Indiana University. She taught school in Bedford County, Pa., and retired in 1978.
She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven, Fla. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter #22, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #24, AARP Florida Chapter #18, PASR, Bedford County Retired Teachers, P.S.T.A., and a former member of Shaft Homemakers.
Surviving are one son, Glenn Dale Baer and wife, Joyce, Annapolis; two grandchildren, Joshua Michael Baer and Laura Michelle Baer; long-time friend and companion, Joseph Donahue; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Shussett officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

THOMAS G. CASEY II
MOUNT SAVAGE - Thomas Gridley Casey II, 56, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 14, 1943, in Swarthmore, Pa., he was the son of Thomas G. and Gretchen Wanner Casey.
Mr. Casey graduated from St. John's College, Annapolis, in 1971, after interrupting his academic career for two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam from 1967-69, when he was awarded the Bronze Star. Before moving to western Maryland, he worked as an Environmental Sanitarian with the Anne Arundel County Health Department. He was a member of the Viet Nam Veterans of America Chapter 172, Sr. Vice Commander 1991-92 of the Old Rail VFW Post in Mount Savage, and charter member of the War Poets Society. His quick wit and way with words will be missed by all his friends and family.
Surviving are his wife, Elayne Warren, and one son, Adam Samuel Casey, Mount Savage.
In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to science.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. at the monument in the Mount Savage Community Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the Mount Savage Beautification Committee, P.O. Box 401, Mount Savage, MD 21545.
HELEN A. CHASE
CUMBERLAND - Helen Adeline Chase, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Martha (Stoner) Keller. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel F. Chase Sr. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her daugher, Dolores Morgan and husband Clarence, LaVale; a son, Daniel F. Chase Jr. and wife Henrietta, College Park; grandchildren Cynthia Escalante and husband Richard, Bowie, and Todd Morgan and wife Terri, Smithfield, Va.; and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Morgan.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Todd Morgan, Richard Escalante, Elmer Keller, Charles Keller, Charles Deter and Edward Wagus.
RAYMOND E. CRAWFORD
BARTON - Raymond Ellis Crawford, 81, a resident of Alterra Clare Bridge Cottage, Chambersburg, Pa., formerly of Barton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Alterra Clare Bridge Cottage.
Born Aug. 14, 1918, in Barton, he was the son of the late James Christopher Crawford and Mary Rosanna (Green) Crawford. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Beula Adene (Beeman) Crawford; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Mr. Crawford was a coal miner for 37 years, and retired Oct. 1983 from the Allegany County Board of Education with 15 years service. He attended the Bible Baptist Church, Barton.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Ferry, Spring Run, Pa., Helen Sniecienski, Barton, and Linda Ruppenthal, Hancock; two sisters, Myrtle Fagner, Zephyrhills, Fla., and Della Bardo, Orlando, Fla.; four brothers, Roy Crawford, Williamsport, the Rev. Christopher "Junior" Crawford, Midland, Lester Crawford, Frostburg, and Paul David Crawford, Cumberland; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Hale, Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Fannettsburg, Pa., and Pastor Dallas Bunch, Bible Baptist Church, Barton, officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

JACK D. CAGE JR.

CUMBERLAND - Jack Dale Cage Jr., beloved husband of the late Ellen G. Cage, son of Jack Dale Cage Sr. and Mary Margaret (Easton) Cage Grimes, was born on April 6, 1935, in Cumberland. He died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at his residence on North Mechanic Street.
On October 9, 1953, Jack was united in marriage with Ellen Genevieve McKnight at the Centre Street Methodist Church. To this union, two daughters and one son were born. While in Cumberland, Jack was employed by the Celanese Corp. The family moved to Baltimore in 1968 where Jack worked for Bethlehem Steel. In later years, he worked for Custom Kit Pak Corp. and then for the McKesson Corp. from which he recently retired. He moved back to Cumberland just two weeks ago.
Jack received his education at LaVale Elementary and Allegany High School. He was a United Methodist by faith and in earlier years was a member of Park Place Methodist Church in LaVale.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Don Michael Cage, daughter, Dawn Michele Cage, and granddaughter, Jessica Marie Cage, all of Baltimore; brother Rick Cage, Cumberland; sister Pat Reneau, and brother-in-law Jim Reneau of West Palm Beach, Fla.; aunts, Juanita Delaney, Greenbelt, and Frances George, Cumberland; and nieces, nephews and cousins including Skip Cramer of Cumberland.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Donna Marie Cage in 1986, and his wife Ellen on February 14, 1999.
Friends will be received at the Loudon Park Funeral Home, 3620 Wilkins Ave., Baltimore, 695 Exit 12, on Sunday, July 18, from 2 to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Monday, July 19, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Loudon Park Cemetery.
