FRANCIS EUGENE 'TOM' FEMI
FROSTBURG - Francis Eugene 'Tom' Femi, 52, of 109 Maple Terrace, Frostburg, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 12, 1946, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Ernest and Wilma (McKenzie) Femi.
Mr. Femi was a former employee of the Frostburg Water Department, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Donna (Jones) Femi; a stepson, Donald Hall, Frostburg; a daughter, Tina Femi, Hagerstown; a son, Thomas Femi, Frostburg; two brothers, Ernest 'Joe' Femi, Slabtown, and Jim Femi, Cumberland; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lewis Sr., Roy Wilhelm, Raymond Mannick, Dave Pennington, Francis Giles and Mike Griffith.
JOSEPH C. FILSINGER
HAGERSTOWN - Joseph Conrad Filsinger, 75, of 20326 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson.
Born Nov. 1, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Conrad Lawrence Filsinger and Julia Amanda Roe Filsinger.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Velma Naomi Filsinger, Hagerstown.
Mr. Filsinger enlisted in Co. B 1st Battalion 115th Infantry as a Private and went from Private to Major. He served as platoon leader thru becoming executive officer of Co. B. When Co. A, 1st Med. Tank Battalion was organized, Lt. Filsinger took this Company as Commanding Officer, organized and ran it until it was reorganized as Forward Support Maintenance Co. D, 729th Maintenance Battalion for a period of about 20 years in the Maryland Army National Guard. He was a member of the Chewsville Evangelical United Brethren Church (EUB) and the Men's Bible Class. He was President, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Dixie Millwork Co. Inc., and he was an active salesman for this company. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern Sash & Door Jobbers Association for three years, and also served on the Legislative Committee for four years. Mr. Filsinger was on the original Board of Directors that founded and organized the National Sash & Door Jobbers Association of the United States. He was a member of the following organizations: National Guard Association of the United States, Life Member Association of the U.S. Army, Life Member 115th Infantry Regiment, U.S. Armor Association, U.S. Ordnance Association (American Ordnance Association), Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Retired Life Member of the National Guard Association, Post Commander of Lantern Post 729, 29th Division Association, American Legion Post 0010, Cresap's Rifles Post 78, Retired Officers Assoc., Upper Potomac Chapter Retired Officers Assoc., The Maryland Society Sons of the American Revolution, BPOE Elks, Pangborn Chapter Fraternal Order of Police, AARP, Life Member of the National Rifle Association, North American Rod & Gun Club, National Sash & Door Jobbers Association, Virginia Building Material Dealer's Association, West Virginia Building Material Dealer's Association, Eastern Building Material Dealer's Association, International Order Hoo Hoo, Hagerstown Area Chamber of Commerce, and National Chamber of Commerce. Services will be conducted at the Chapel of the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, on Monday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. Terrence Foor and the Rev. John W. Schildt officiating.
Interment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
ALBERT CHARLES GERO
CUMBERLAND - Albert Charles Gero, 92, of Cumberland, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Lions Manor Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 28, 1906, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arsane N. and Annie (Stotler) Gero. He was also preceded in death by three sisters; and one brother.
Mr. Gero was retired from the Celanese Corporation after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Laura Mae (Riggs) Gero; two sons, Charles Fred Gero and wife, Annette, Swanton, Robert E. Gero, Cumberland; one daughter, Shirley Jones, Cumberland; one sister, Alice Halterman, Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren, Terry A. Gero and wife, Debbie, Pasadena, Md., Denise L. Raynor and husband, Bill, Laurel, Tami Broadwater, Cumberland, and Monica Beasley, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Tracy, Laura, Ryan, Joshua, Jessica, Ashley, Caitlin and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

HAZEL L. FOGLE
CUMBERLAND - Hazel L. Fogle, 77, of Goethe Street, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at her residence.
Born April 29, 1921, in Patterson's Creek, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Lechliter and Mary (McCarty) Lechliter. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas F. Walsh and Daniel Fogle; and one daughter, Debra Lynn Walsh.
Mrs. Fogle worked for many years as a cook at Cas Taylor's Restaurant.
Surviving are five daughters, Phyllis C. Walsh, with whom she resided, Margaret "Penny" Aldridge, Cumberland, Paula Walsh, Frederick, Clara Caton, Laurel, and Dana Rusnak, Pennsylvania; one sister, Margaret Lewis, Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

ACCIDENT - Irvin Kenneth "Doc" Georg, 76, of 97 Spear Road, Accident, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born June 8, 1923, in Accident, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (Miller) Georg. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine McCrobie and Mildred Liston.
Mr. Georg was a retired employee of the Maryland State Highway Administration, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are his wife, Melda (Opel) Georg, whom he married
Aug. 18, 1956; two sons, Dan Georg, Accident, and John Georg, Grantsville; four daughters, Geni Livengood, Sarasota, Fla., Margaret Brown, Rexburg, Idaho, Emily Georg, Accident, and Mary Georg, Pocatello, Idaho; three brothers, Ralph Georg, Accident, John Georg, Annandale, Va., and Donald Georg, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one sister, Iola Schmidt, Bridgeville, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

CUMBERLAND - Nellie M. Day, 89, of Cumberland, died Monday, June 14, 1999, at Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born March 7, 1910, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Mary Ann (Wright) Topper. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Raymond E. DeVore and Thomas L. Day; and one grandson, Richard DeVore. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Day was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth E. Galford, Cumberland, and Edith Greathouse and husband Tex, Cumberland; two sons, George T. DeVore and wife Judy, Cumberland, and James E. DeVore and wife Sarah, Baltimore; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Miller and husband Buddy, Ellerslie, Rusty DeVore and wife Mary, Johnstown, Pa., Rhonda Sheally and husband Todd, Corriganville, Shawnee DeVore, Cumberland, Rob DeVore and wife Kristi, Cumberland, Randy DeVore and wife Brooke, Cumberland, Jami Miltenberger and husband Glenn, Henderson, Nev., Michael DeVore and Donald DeVore, both of Cumberland, and Philip Day; and 12 great-grandchildren.
