FLORENCE L. GREEN
CUMBERLAND - Florence Lillie Green, 91, formerly of 433 Henderson Ave., passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born in Garrett County, on Jan. 26, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Horace Joseph Green and Mary Alice (Barnard) Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Green, in 1969; a son, Robert Green; five brothers; and three sisters.
She was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation, a member of Living Stone Church of the Brethren, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Green Cemetery, Garrett County.
WILLIAM V. DAY
FROSTBURG - William V. Day, 72, of 141 Mount Pleasant St., Frostburg, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.
Born April 23, 1926, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Roger X. and Betty (Ebbert) Day.
Mr. Day was retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church, Elks Lodge 470, Moose Lodge 348, American Legion Farrady Post 24, and Maplehurst Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Jane (Gattens) Day; two daughters, Janet Shay and husband Mike, Frostburg, and Debbie Pifalo and husband Brad, Pittsburgh; one grandson, Eric Patterson and wife Missy, Frostburg; two grandchildren, Aaron and Abbey Patterson; one brother, Roger X. Day, Horshan, Pa.; and one sister-in-law, Rita Culhane, Palm Harbor, Fla.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice, Western Maryland Health System, or the Frostburg Library.
FREDERICK E. DAYTON
MCCOOLE - Frederick E. Dayton, 81, of McCoole, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born on Sept. 3, 1917, in McCoole, he was the son of the late Leonard and Elsie (Robinson) Dayton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Delbert Dayton.
Mr. Dayton was the owner of Dayton Service Station, McCoole. He was a member of the Maryland Grocer's Association, a member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the Adult Fellowship, a former chairman of the Official Board, a member of the United Methodist Men, a charter member of the Keyser Kiwanis, a member of the Knights of Pythias, a member of the Boyce Houser Post #41, American Leigon, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Helen E. (Pierce) Dayton; his son, Fred E. Dayton II and wife, Dottie A., Walkersville; his daughter, Elizabeth A. Ferrebee and husband, Ernie, Keyser; his brother, G. William Dayton and wife, Connie, Keyser; his sister, Mary Virginia Berg, Baltimore; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Dayton, Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Frederick Dayton III, Michael W. Dayton, Jennifer B. Dayton, Rhonda E. Ferrebee, Susan A. Ferrebee, Ernie Ferrebee II; and his great-grandson, Nicholas R. Dayton.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, May 21, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 232, Keyser, WV 26726.
WILDA M. DEAHL
CUMBERLAND - Wilda Montrose Deahl, 84, of 220 Sommerville Ave., Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 1, 1914, in Bedford Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry D. Zembower and the late Anna V. (Brant) Zembower. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Deahl; and a son, Jerry A. Rice. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Deahl had been employed at Ormond's Hosiery Shop as a manager and clerk. She was Baptist by faith.
Surviving are a son, David L. Deahl and wife Annette, Fayetteville, N.C.; a daughter, Martha J. Beeghly and husband Richard, Cumberland; eight grandchildren, Greg Beeghly and wife Ellen, Andrew Beeghly and wife Juli, Kent Beeghly and wife Krista, John Beeghly and wife Terri, David Beeghly and wife Noel, Brian Beeghly, Jennifer Deahl and Jessica Deahl; and seven great-grandchildren, Corbin, Kristyn, Steven, Jessica, Samantha, Gina and Kaitlyn.
Mrs. Deahl's wishes were that she be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David A. Depp and the Rev. Richard Reilly officiating.
Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

ALMA NEVA DEAN
CUMBERLAND - Alma Neva Dean, 81, of 29 Maple St., Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 16, 1918, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Kidwell and the late Martha (Rudy) Kidwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Dean, on March 23, 1976.
Mrs. Dean was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Good Samaritans.
Surviving are her daughter, June Zembower and husband, John, Bedford, Pa.; loving grandchildren, Eddie and Susie Richards; and loving great-grandchildren, Ashley and Mandy Richards. Mrs. Dean was a special Nan to Carol "Lovie"Combs.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Daren L. Ritchey officiating. Mrs. Dean will be taken to the church at noon.
Interment will be in Woodrow cemetery near Paw Paw, W.Va.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Richards, Jimmy Richards, Tom Simpson, Bob Bohrer, Jim Bohrer and Leonard Blank.
Contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit or to Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund.
DEIDRE ANN DEBERRY
OAKLAND - Deidre Ann DeBerry, age 21, of 114 E. Alder St., Oakland, died Thursday at her home.
She was born July 3, 1977, in Cumberland and was a daughter of Darwin E. Friend and Mary Lynn (Howell) Friend of Swanton.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, William Wade DeBerry; one sister, Kelly Buckley, Swanton; her maternal grandparents, Fred and Doris Howell, Swanton; her paternal grandmother, Ellen Shillingburg, and paternal step-grandfather, Lee Shillingburg, Oakland.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Otterbein United Methodist Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Meredith Ball officiating.
Interment will be in the North Glade Cemetery.
