ORPAH A. GRAHAM
HANCOCK - Orpah A. Graham, 76, of Weller Road, Hancock, died Monday, Oct. 18. 1999, at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 23, 1923, near Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Emmert L. and Blanche M. Myers Keefer. She was married
to Carl Owen Graham who passed away Jan. 24, 1975.
Mrs. Graham was a farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, near Hancock.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet I. Woyick, Hagerstown; three sons, Gerald O. Graham and Wesley L. Graham, both of Big Pool, and Vernon C. Graham, Hancock; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, and at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Tollgate Ridge Road, near Hancock, with the Rev. Frank Kocek and the Rev. Dennis Whitmore officiating.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
KARL R. FEISE
LA VERNE, Calif. - Karl R. Feise, 85, of La Verne, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, La Verne.
He was born May 8, 1914, in Des Moines, Iowa and lived in La Verne for 22 years after having spent much of his life in Cumberland.
Mr. Feise was the Vice-president of manufacturing and plant manager for the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. for 42 years, from 1963 until he retired in 1977.
He was a member of La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church.
He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1936 from Iowa State University.
He was a member of Sigma Chi; La Verne Lions Club; Chaplains Eagle Volunteer with Los Angeles City Probation Dept.; Board of Directors of La Verne Meals on Wheels; Youth Guidance Tutor; and Foothill Terrace Golf Group.
Locally, Mr. Feise was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Cumberland, where he sang in the choir. He also was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Allegany County Library from 1969 until 1976.
Mr. Feise is survived by two daughters, Linda West of Hermosa Beach and Julie McCabe of San Marino; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sunday, July 18, 1999 at La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church.

MILTON GERSON
CUMBERLAND - Milton Gerson, 84, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 25, 1914, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Morris and Sarah (Shearer) Gerson. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Robert Gerson; and one sister, Bertha Cohen.
Mr. Gerson was a retired attorney and former District Court Judge. He practiced law in Allegany County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served as a lieutenant during the war. He was a graduate of Beall High School, Potomac State University, and the University of Maryland School of Law. He was a member of the B"er Chayim Temple, former member of the Allegany County Liquor Board, life member of the Frostburg Elks 470, and a member of the Sacred Heart Hospital Lay Board of Directors.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne E. (Lazarus) Gerson; two daughters, Ellen J. Daymont and husband Thomas, Philadelphia, and Louise S. Hall and husband Gerard, Crofton; one son, Richard S. Gerson and wife Anne, Tucson, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren, Josh, Carrie and Molly Daymont, Andrew and Jeffrey Hall, and Robert and Catherine Gerson.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with Arthur F. Friedland officiating. Interment will be in the East View Cemetery, Cumberland.
Donations may be made to the charity of the donor"s choice.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Daymont, Gerard Hall, Larry Hohing, Edward Flanigan, Ronald McMurry and Thomas Connors.
JEANNETTE GROSS
CUMBERLAND - Miss Jeannette Gross, 83, of 408 N. Mechanic St., Cumberland, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cumberland on Sept. 26, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Gross and the late Leota (Himmler) Gross. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Leopoldina Gross Gnagey.
She was formerly employed by Ulines Arena in Washington, D.C., and more recently owned and operated Gross Brothers Hardware & Heating on Henderson Avenue, Cumberland. She was a graduate of Allegany High School and Catherman's Business School. She was a life member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, traveling, reading, and her many friends.
Jeannette will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are two brothers, Walter M. Gross and Robert A. Gross, both of Cumberland; special cousin, Dr. Walter Himmler, Cumberland; beloved niece, Diane L. Gnagey Viney and husband, William, Severna Park; and three children, Kristine, Kevin and Stacie; and two great nephews, Brendan and John Patrick Stanley.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Lee McDaniel.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
GEORGIA A. DELAWDER
CUMBERLAND - Georgia A. Delawder, 84, of the Devlin Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Spring Gap, Md., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1914, in Spring Gap, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ella Alice E. (Garland) Stallings. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus C. Delawder, in 1977; one son, Marvin C. Delawder; and two sisters, Marie Twigg and Dortha Phelps.
Mrs. Delawder was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Spring Gap, and the Women's Society of Christian Services for the church.
Surviving are one daughter, Helen D. Middleton and husband Ronald, Cumberland; three sons, Roy R. Delawder and wife Ginger, Herndon, Va., Norman A. Delawder and wife Kay, Moorefield, W.Va., and Ray W. Delawder and wife Martha, Cumberland; one daughter-in-law, Janet Delawder, Moorefield; five grandchildren, Matthew, Colleen, Vicki and Daniel Delawder, and Melody Wilson and husband Michael; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, Spring Gap.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church or the Mount Tabor cemetery Fund.
ETHEL M. FREAL
FROSTBURG - Ethel M. Freal, 87, of Frostburg, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born March 27, 1911, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Fannie (Broadwater) Groves. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Lucretia Groves; her husband, Patrick Freal; one son, David Patrick Freal; and two sisters, Marguerite Hildreth and Velma Platter.
Mrs. Freal was a member of the Frostburg Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Eileen Hogamier, Mount Savage, and Judith Ramsey and husband, Bret, Cresaptown; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. H. Eddie Schaidt officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
