CUMBERLAND - Friends will be received for Georgia A. Delawder at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m.
HELEN M. DIAZ
LUKE - Helen Mae Diaz, 79, of 343 Nevison Ave., Luke, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Sept. 1, 1919, at Midland, she was a daughter of the late Algie and Christina (Reed) Clise. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Wilt; and two brothers, Algie Clise Jr. and Charles Francis Clise. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Diaz was a homemaker, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Westernport.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Diaz; three sons, Kenneth R. Diaz and wife, Karla, Edgewater, David A. Diaz and wife, Ardis, Annapolis, Michael L. Diaz and wife, Joan, McCoole; five grandchildren, Samuel Diaz, Kendra Diaz, Jennifer Diaz, Desiree Diaz, Leiana Diaz; and a special friend, Hazel Morris, Westernport.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.
NORMA L. DICKEL
HOLDEN, La. - Norma Lu Dickel, of 31695 Tickfaw Acres Road, Holden, La. 70744, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at her home.
Surviving are her husband, R. Daniel Dickel, formerly of Cresaptown, Md.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bob and Charlotte Dickel, Cumberland; and sister-in-law, Dena Albright and husband Jason, Short Gap, W.Va.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
ROBERT S. DICKEL
MALAGA, N.J. - Robert Sylvester Dickel, 73, of Malaga, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, in Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Washington Township, after an extended illness.
Born in Mount Savage, he moved to the Malaga area 37 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Dickel.
Mr. Dickel served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a forklift operator for Shield Alloy Company in Newfield, N.J., before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Maryann Dickel, Malaga; four daughters, Bonnie Greene, Glassboro; Lois Dickel, Vineland; Marlene Hawk, LaVale, Md., and Rigina Dickel, Malaga; six sons, Robert C.W., Vineland; Leonard, Mansfield, Texas; Michael and Albert, both of Glassboro, and Scott, Malaga; one brother, James P. Mount Savage; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at The Egizi Funeral Home, Washington Township.
Burial was in the Managath Cemetery, Glassboro.
MARY Z. DICKEN
CUMBERLAND - Mary Z. Dicken, 79, of Franklin Street, Cumberland, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 10, 1919, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Zihlman and Estella M. (Durst) Zihlman. Her husband, Donald M. Dicken, died on Jan. 6, 1979. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Bruce Wade Lantz, who died April 16, 1998.
A retired Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital, she was a 1941 graduate of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, a member of St. Marks Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II, she was a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps.
She is survived by one son, Donald P. Dicken, Cumberland; three daughters, Deborah Lantz, Cumberland, Minta Everett, Stafford, Va., Marlene Mears and husband, Bill, Stafford; one sister, Estella Struntz, Fredericksburg,Va.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold T. Shaffer officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
ROY H. DICKENSON JR.
SILVER SPRING - Roy H. Dickenson Jr., 74, of Silver Spring, formerly of Ridgeley, W.Va., died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, of complications from cancer.
Born in Franklin, W.Va., June 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Roy H. Dickenson Sr. and Mabel Lough Dickenson.
Mr. Dickenson was vice president of the Class of 1942, Ridgeley High School. He was graduated from West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va., majoring in Industrial Arts Education. He was formerly employed by the Cupler Jet Works in LaVale and the Western Maryland Railway before beginning his teaching at Sherwood High School in Montgomery County. He retired after 29 years with the Federal Government, Department of Defense.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He was awarded a combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Battle Star, and the Purple Heart.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chevy Chase, serving as chairperson of numerous committees, and a former member of Central United Methodist Church, Cumberland. He was a lifetime member of the DAV, the Society of the First Division, and the NRA.
Roy was a talented carver, winning awards for some of his songbird and duck carvings. He enjoyed many hobbies, among them was cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Louise Robertson Dickenson; and a sister, Mrs. Doris Derryberry, Bedford, Pa.; one niece, Katherine Koontz, her husband, Wayne, and their daughter, Janelle, Bedford; many cousins and other loved ones.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday, May 27, 1999, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 28, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dan C. Bryant, Church of the Redeemer, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Bedford Road, Cumberland.

SARA R. GERSON
FROSTBURG - Sara R. Gerson, 87, of Frostburg Heights Apartments, Frostburg, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1911, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Wolf) Gerson. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Gerson.
The deceased was employed by Kay Jewelers and Whitacre's Gift Shop. She was a member of B'Er Chayim Congregation.
Surviving are one sister, Ruth Hohing, Frostburg; a nephew, Lawrence H. Hohing and wife Dorothy, LaVale; and three grand-nieces and -nephews; Stefanie, Erin and Ryan Hohing, LaVale.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Rabbi Becker of B'Er Chayim Congregation.
Interment will be in the Eastview Cemetery.
