DANIEL C. FISHER
CUMBERLAND - Daniel Cresap Fisher, 76, of 707 Montgomery Ave., Cumberland, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George Maurice Fisher and Rhoda Hazel (Stump) Fisher. He also was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Fisher. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Fisher was a retired telegraph operator for the Chessie System. He was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church, East Gate Lodge #216 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Salem Chapter No. 18, R.A.M., Salem Council No. 11 R. and S.M., and Antioch Commandery No. 6 Knights Templar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army--WWII 12th Armored Division.
Surviving are his wife, Jane (Schaeffer) Fisher, Cumberland, one daughter, Jennifer Fisher Bouchard and husband Edward, Chapel Hill, N.C.; one son, Jeffrey Daniel Fisher and wife Susan, Cumberland; and one granddaughter, Lindsey Jayne Fisher, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the East Gate Lodge #216 A.F. & A.M.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna and the Rev. William Bice officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military rites will be accorded at graveside by members of local veterans' organizations.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Centre Street United Methodist Church in his memory.
NELLIE M. GRAHAME
CUMBERLAND - Nellie May Grahame, 89, of 1908 Bedford St., Cumberland, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1909, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Davis and the late Effie (Foye) Davis. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Grahame in 1978; and one brother, Roy Davis.
Mrs. Grahame was retired from the Allegany County Board of Education. She taught at the Pennsylvania Avenue Elementary School. She was a graduate of Barton High School Class of 1927, and Frostburg Normal School Class of 1929. After teaching many years, she returned to Frostburg State University and graduated in 1969 with a B.S. Degree. She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter O.E.S. in Lonaconing, the Allegany County Retired Teachers Association, the Maryland State Retired Teachers Association, the National Retired Teachers Association, and the First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph W. Grahame Jr. and wife Sandra, Elkins, W.Va., James R. Grahame, Cumberland, and John B. Grahame and wife Linda, Decatur, Mich.; one daughter, Louise VanMeter, Ridgeley, W.Va.; two sisters, Patricia Knott and husband Everett, Bloomington, and Mary Elda McCormick, Lonaconing; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SARAH E. FREY
CUMBERLAND - Sarah "Betty" E. Frey, 80, of 715 Fayette St., Cumberland, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 13, 1918, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Fred Neill and the late Ellen (Trammell) Neill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Frey was a graduate of Romney High School Class of 1936, Potomac State College and William and Mary College. She was a former art teacher at Mount Savage High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Cumberland, and a member of the Women's Club of the First Presbyterian Church, the Women's Civic Club, and the Ladies of the Elks 63.
Surviving are a husband of 58 years, Eugene L. Frey, Cumberland; two sons, Neill E. Frey and wife Virginia, Dover, Del., and Frank F. Frey and wife Maxine, Cumberland; and two granddaughters, Joy Wilt and husband Gregg, Cumberland, and Julie Frey, Wheaton.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. O. Morton Harris Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.
MALINDA F. DURST
GRANTSVILLE - Malinda F. Durst, 93, of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of Barton, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born January 31, 1906, in Jennings, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Luvenia (Bittinger) Wilt. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Durst.
Mrs. Durst was a homemaker. She was member of the Lonaconing Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Mark Wilt, East Point, Mich., Blaine Wilt, of Bittinger, Md.; one sister, Lucinda Bowser, of Lonaconing; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Webb, officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Church Cemetery, Grantsville.
NANNIE I. FLETCHER
CUMBERLAND - Nannie I. Fletcher, 90, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 25, 1908, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Pearl P. (Matthew) Athey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fletcher; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Fletcher was a homemaker and attended Frostburg State Teachers College. She was a member of Calvary Holiness Church, Arch Street.
Surviving are a sister, M. Mildred Robinette, and a brother, Ray M. Athey, both of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joel Tice officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Athey, William Athey Jr., George Athey, George Robinette, Jason Robinette and Robert Hidey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Holiness Church.
DONALD L. GROVE
WESTERNPORT - Donald Lee Grove, 71, of 211 Poplar St., Westernport, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at his residence.
Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Allegany County, he was the son of the late Robert and Nellie Grove, Westernport.
Mr. Grove retired from Westvaco after serving 44 years with the company. He retired as a Master papermaker on #8 Paper Machine. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Westernport. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club, the Black Hawk Tribe 131, and the Swanton Senior Citizen Center.
He was truly loved by all and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Broadwater) Grove; two sons, Ronald Lee Grove and wife, Beverly, and David Alan Grove and wife, Kathleen, all of Westernport. He was very fortunate to share in the lives of six grandchildren, Jeff Grove and wife, Kristen, Seattle, Wash., Christie Kimble and husband, George, McCoole, Mishawn Vinci and husband, Robbie, Michelle Grove and Jason Whetzel, R. Aden Grove and M. Danielle Grove, all of Westernport. He has seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Brianna, Marina, Trey, Robbie, Westley, and Jada Lee.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sandra Harshberger, officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
