FRANCES EASTMAN
OAKLAND - Frances Grace "Susie" Eastman, 76, of Oakland, died on Friday, May 7, 1999, near her home.
She was born March 25, 1923, in Biloxi, Miss., and was a daughter of the late Clance R. Grace and Matilda (Moeck) Grace.
She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, the Episcopals, and was a member of garden and book clubs in both Garrett County and Florida.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel Eastman; three daughters, Melissa E. Johnson, Oakland, Megan S. Eastman, Silver Spring, and Amanda E. Buschi, Burkittsville, Md.; and one grandchild,
At Mrs. Eastman's request, she will be cremated.
A Memorial service will be conducted at St. Matthews Episcopal Church on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Father Chip Lee officiating.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Garrett County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
The Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is handling the arrangements.
WILDA E. EATON
WEST HYATTSVILLE - Wilda Earle Eaton, age 73, of West Hyattsville, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at home.
Born March 16, 1926, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William Earle and Nellie Virginia Bucklew Freeland.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Sandra Burns, Oldtown, Paul A. Eaton, Jessup, and Ronald W. Eaton, Brookville; one sister, Dorothy Babcock, Cumberland; one brother, Kenneth Freeland, Cumberland; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, July 30, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, Fourth and Race streets, Cumberland.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 29, 1999, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Gasch's Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, and one hour prior to the funeral services at the church on Friday.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
ELIZABETH G. EDMISTON
RAWLINGS - Elizabeth G. Edmiston, 77, of Circle Drive, Rawlings, died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1921, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Edmiston) Baum. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Baum.
Mrs. Edmiston was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Allan L. Edmiston; one daughter, Shirlyn Simcox and husband Richard, Columbus, Ohio; two sons, James Park and wife Kathleen, Amherst, Ohio, and Dennis L. Park, Mineral, Va.; one sister, Louise Humm, Altoona, Pa.; one brother, Richard Baum, Youngstown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Christine Egierski, Dennis Park, Victoria Park and Andrea Park; and three great-grandchildren, Gage, Alyssa and Megan Egierski.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Gary W. Barkley officiating.
RANCES C. "CELIE" EDMONDSON
CUMBERLAND - Frances C. "Celie" Edmondson, 84, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 1, 1914, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Gumm) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Burt Edmondson, in 1940; two infant daughters; one son, Robert Edmondson; one granddaughter; one grandson; and one sister, Hazel Lindeman.
Mrs. Edmondson was a retired waitress in the Cumberland area, having worked at the Star Restaurant and Nave's Diner. She was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and the church choir.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Earl Edmondson and wife, Helen, Chaneysville, Pa.; Donald James Edmondson and Clayton Via, Cresaptown; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at noon with Pastor Denny Michael officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
DONNA J. FAZENBAKER
WESTERNPORT - Donna Josephine Fazenbaker, 65, formerly of 511 Morrison St., Westernport, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, where she had been a resident.
Born on March 19, 1934, in Piedmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of Rockine M. (Tucci) Elias, of Westernport, and the late George W. Elias, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James Paul Elias.
Ms. Fazenbaker was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, she was a 1952 graduate of St. Peters High School. She retired on April 1 from Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, having worked in housekeeping, she was also previously employed at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, as an X-ray Technician, and at St. Peters Rectory. She was a former girl scout leader within the community.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by four daughters, Susan Rinker and husband, Terry, of Keyser, W.Va., Paula Knott and husband, Donnie, of Ellicott City, Kitty Wilson and husband, John of Carmichael, Pa., and Gina MacDonald, of Westernport; and a granddaughter, Katlynn MacDonald.
At Mrs. Fazenbakers request she will be cremated.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport, on Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at 10 a.m. with Father James Hannon, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Moran Manor Nursing Home, the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, or St. Peters School.
MICHAEL C. EGGLESTON
LOCH LYNN - Michael Charles Eggleston, age 33, of 220 Shenandoah Ave., Loch Lynn, died on Tuesday at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born July 8, 1965, in Milwaukee, Wisc., and was a son of Rosalind Eggleston-Wiseman, Oakland, and the late Stanley L. Eggleston.
Mr. Eggleston was employed as the General Manager of Denny's Restaurant, Oakland, and was a member of the Apostolics of Oakland.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Christy (Liller) Eggleston; one son, Seth Michael Eggleston, at home; two daughters, Rachael Lynn Eggleston, Addison, Pa., and Heather Dawn Eggleston, Grantsville; five brothers, Stanley Eggleston, Oakland, Jeffrey Eggleston, Baltimore, Matthew Eggleston, Northeast Maryland, Daniel Eggleston, Bittinger, and Richard Eggleston, Oakland; and his paternal grandfather, Charles A. Eggleston, Merritt Island, Fla.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Apostolic Church of Oakland at the Old Mountain Lake Campground, on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg Cummings officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Garrett County.
ORPHA A. GRAHAM
HANCOCK - Orpha A. Graham, 76, of Weller Road, Hancock, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 23, 1923, near Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Emmert L. and Blanche M. Myers Keefer, she was married
to Carl Owen Graham who passed away Jan. 24, 1975.
Mrs. Graham was a farmer and homemaker. She member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church, near Hancock.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet I. Woyick, of Hagerstown; three sons, Gerald O. Graham, Wesley L. Graham, both of Big Pool, and Vernon C. Graham, of Hancock; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church Tollgate Ridge Road near Hancock, with the Rev. Frank Kocek and the Rev. Dennis Whitmore, officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, and at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
