JEROME C. EGLE
AJIJIC, Mexico - Jerome C. Egle, recently retired to Ajijic, formerly of Carpendale, W.Va., died at his home Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Egle was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Elizabeth (Gruilich) Egle and his first wife Annelore (Hoffman) Egle. He is survived by his wife Vera Clark Egle of Ajijic; one daughter, Debra Clark and husband Patrick, Naples, Maine; one son, Mark Edward Egle and wife Barbara, New York; two sisters, Alice Erbach, Ajijic, and Carol Tauriello, New York; sister-in-law Valena Hager and husband Donald, LaVale, Md.; nephew, Will Hager and family and niece, Elisabeth Grapes and family.
Mr. Egle is also survived by his extended family and many special friends. They include Oscar Espana Ramos, Ajijic; Jeffery Metz, David Lauder, Sharon Nightengale, employees of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, Md.; Brad and Erika Grieve, Ajijic, and his loving pet dog and best friend, Schatze.
Mr. Egle was co-owner of Egle Nursing Home with his wife Vera for 22 years. Mr. Egle was a graduate of the University of New York and was a surgical physician's assistant by practice. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Peter and Paul's Church of Cumberland, Md., and San Andres Church, Ajijic. Mr. Egle was a veteran of the United States Navy and Fleet Marines. He served during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War.
Mr. Egle was the most caring and loving person readers will ever meet and know and his love for his family and friends was unsurpassed. While he will be sorely missed, he will never be forgotten by the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

JOSEPH F. EIRICH
CUMBERLAND - Joseph Francis Eirich, 72, of Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at his home after an extended illness.
Born April 22, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late J. James and Clara E. (Grabenstein) Eirich. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Dolores Eirich.
Mr. Eirich was retired as a draftman from Westvaco Corporation. He also previously worked for Hercules Corporation and Superior Design. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Cumberland Council 586. He was a member of the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club. He graduated for LaSalle High School in 1946. He was a member and Eucharist Minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland. He was a member of the Light of Christ Prayer Group. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary (Powers) Eirich; one daughter, Kathryn M. Humbertson, Cumberland; one brother, Paul A. Eirich and wife Agnes, Wiley Ford, W.Va.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monday at 1 p.m. with the Fr. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mt. Savage.

BARBARA R. EISLE
FROSTBURG - Barbara R. Eisle, 53, of Frostburg, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 5, 1946, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel (Myers) Hull.
Mrs. Eisle was employed at Frostburg State University.
Surviving are one daughter, Teresa Faidley and husband James, Frostburg; one son, James Timothy Eisle II and fiancé Melanie Bostjancic, Frostburg; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Gary Hull, Hyndman, Pa., Thomas Hull, Cumberland, Paul Hull, Pa., and David Hull, Calif.; six sisters, Helena Davies, Shirley Corley, Linda Humbertson and Hilda Brown, all of Cumberland, Grace Hamilton, Williamsport, and Virginia Coleman, W.Va.; and special people, Raymond "Buddy" Fairgrieve, Melinda Schrock, Mount Savage, and Maria Hall, Texas.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 West Main St., Frostburg, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
BARBARA R. EISLE

NORMAN C. EISEL
ASHLAND, Ohio - Norman C. Eisel, 92, of 120 Parkside, Ashland, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Brethren Care Nursing Home, Ashland, following a short illness.
Born Dec. 5, 1906, in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of the late Henry Eisel and Mary E. Casserly. He was also preceded in death by his son, Frank, in 1963, and son, Henry.
Mr. Eisel was retired from Firestone Rubber Company. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. He also was a member of Ashland Masonic Lodge #151, Valley of Canton Scottish Rite.
On Feb. 8, 1937, he married
Mary J. (Motter) Eisel, Ashland, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Kenneth and wife, Joann, Carson City, Nev., Merle A. and wife, Sue, Bradenton, Fla., Michael and Dibie Eisel, Skkokie, Ill., and David L. Eisel, Ashland; and two daughters, Mary E. and Robert Kane, New Cumberland, Pa., and Norma A. and Larry Goon, Ashland; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene E. Smercina officiating.
Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
EFIE E. GLASS
FROSTBURG - Effie Elizabeth Glass, 82, of 21 Centennial St., Frostburg, died July 15, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 18, 1916, in Accident, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Beckett) Margroff. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Olin A. Glass, in 1986; two daughters, Yvonne Glass and Marion Dixon; a sister, Elsie Savage; and two brothers, Roy and Raymond Margroff. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Glass was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg, Mountain Chapter No. 15 Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Frostburg Homemakers and the Frostburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, John A. Glass and wife, Edna, Frostburg; a daughter, Beverly Grady and husband, Noah, Geneva, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frosturg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor John J. Duffus officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Accident.
